See thats what I dont understand, why do most black celebrities who want to be called an “entrepreneur” only ever open businesses relating to the fashion industry or the luxury brand market (perfumes, jewellery) or the restaurant trade or “high class” alcoholic beverages or something?? It’s this kind of shit which makes black people so superficial and materialistic and ultimately dumbs us down collectively. We spend money on things we don’t need, yet fail to open savings accounts, invest well or set aside a fund for a college education…or just being careful with money and spending it on the necessities of everyday life. Sad, we have been enslaved again, this time by the rise of the brand name and ‘looking good’. We’re good at being consumers, and we’re damn good at being made to look like idiots—both go hand-in-hand. We should be at the forefront, in the boardrooms, making important decisions, completing business transactions, enhancing profitability, particpating fiercely in the competitive market, doing mergers, etc!

Why don’t these celebrities invest their money in more substantial ways like setting up housing projects, literacy and numeracy schemes for underpriveliged children?? Or how about getting involved in science, telecommunications, software, something which will make money but ENRICH the minds of many!!!

I 100% agree. But I think that a lot of black people feel as though they can sit there unemployed asses down and keep dreaming about being rich without doing anything about it. They sell drugs, murder and do plenty of other things and expect everything to be OKAY with their lives. They want to be rich yet they don’t go to school, and drop out of college. But now they’re crying to Obama wanting him to just poor money on them yet they don’t try and help themselves while all the rich people actually got off their lazy asses to do something in life but we will be charged more because we make more. I don’t think it is fair. I know plenty of people who claim they’re going to be rich when they get older yet they dropped out of college and my younger friends claim they’re not going to college, so I’m like how will you be rich, if you have no education? I mean, you can be a rapper or something but what if that doesn’t take off like you planned, then what? I know that some people have better opportunities, but a lot of black people just keep finding excuses why they’re poor….you can change that. And then the teenage girls are getting pregnant younger and younger, yet they claim they cant afford anything. Then why did you have a baby? I know it doesn’t apply to all and only black people but it does apply to a lot of them.
