1st off: what is with everyone jacking the ostrich farm for coats & shawls. It’s NOT a good look. And the shoes aren’t either. The jeans & tee are hot though.

2nd off: From the thigh up. the skirt & blouse are HOT. The shoes & stockings from the little girls’ department of Kmart..are not.

The first outfit is cool….the second one is really nice, but she messed it up with those pink tights. Daddy Knowles look like he couldn’t be bothered….probably on the phone trying to make more money!!!!

Ok, I’m not really familiar with wigs and weave or whatnot, so can someone tell me what is the deal with Solange’s hair? Is that a wig? One of those lacefronts? A weave? Sometimes it looks nice, and other time it just…looks…but her style is uniquely hers and her cd is pretty good…I just need to know the deal with the hair…

Both looks are a hot mess and entirely forced to make her seem different from her sis and create this image. I don’t understand how people say this is unique when it is a basic copy of Cyndi lauper, madonna, gwen stefani, and erykah badu to name some. On top of that Goths, Hippies, and “regular people” have dressed this way for years and are constantly teased, but since she’s a Knowles she gets praised for her unique dressing?

Anyways her sound is okay, but her image is as fake and produced as the industry she constantly criticizes.

I agree her style definitely comes across as forced, she seems to think that throwing things together looks “cute” maybe apart but definitely not together. And her hair needs to be done ASAP, the naps are coming back. Her face looks cute though, she looks relaxed and pretty.

Her CD isn’t that hot, people are setting high standards for it but it isn’t good. To me, alot of the beats sound the same and she forces her voice, she sounds like she’s straining, I wasn’t too impressed.

On the contrary to others’ opinions, I feel she is finally ready to be herself. With her first album she was trying to follow the same formula that blew her sis up rather than being true to what she enjoyed. Her writing style has always been eclectic which is indicative of the fact that she truly is just a different kind of artist. I think she’s refreshing. Totally different from B, which is a move in the right direction cause B has been copied and recopied.

I’m going to give her a pass because I can definitely appreciate her attempt to be an individual. She could possibly have cross over appeal so I won’t hate but I agree that her natural hair texture is not matching the extensions. She gets a BOOOOOO on that alone!

I actually dig the way Solange is dressing. It fits her style and personality IMO. Not everything has to be matching from head to toe. As you all should know this. Watch a runway show some time and you will see that fashion is always cutting edge. She knows how to wear her clothes and it fits her. If you noticed Solange has always mixed “high fashion” dressing with an eclectic style. She will wear a dress in a minute that is matchy matchy with everything, and the next minute rock that same dress up style with something completely different. Any trendsetter should know that you SET trends, not follow them. Anybody can take a high fashion piece and put it with the matching shoes, a bag, etc. And that is all fine for some people and works, all the while they pull it off effortlessly. But it’s another thing when someone can put together some striking pieces of their own. She takes trends from now and mixes them with vintage pieces, and mixing her own things together. Though I wouldn’t wear it, it fits her so I give her props for that.

Loved her performance of the song, she could have taken the boring route and just stood their and delivered it. Like she does with her fashion I like how she mixes up her retro tune, with DIVA-ESQUE dance moves. She can work a stage. Things will only get better for her.

1.I so agree with your comment. It’s funny how you can sell anything to the general public because it wasn’t until this year this girl started dressing retarded. If you have seen Solange since the day DC came out, she always dressed like B, wore the same blonde/red hair weaves, and always matched her clothing. This past year since she anounced her album, she started dressing all crazy and put out a few blogs with a few curse words and suddenly she’s the next good girl gone rebellious.

2. Nothing about her style is innovative. People in Paris have dressed this way for years. Hippies and Goths have also dressed this way for years and were constantly teased about it. Women like Gwen Stefani, Cyndi Lauper, Kelly Osborne, Eve, Madonna, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Fergie have been dressing this way for years. So what’s so innovative and unique about her style. Maybe the younger generation buys it but if you know about any of those women above then you know this style has been done in a more genuine manner.

3. Her talent is very mediocre. The exciting part of her show is her great band and excellent backup singers who help cover up her vocals. Her dancing is taken straight from Beyonce and Gwen Stefani choreographies. I don’t see where all the hype is honestly coming from.
