♫ T.I. feat. The Dream - Like I Do (full) - listen
I just want to apologize for being a little late with these tracks, but we’ve been really busy on this side! Anyways, here is new music from T.I.’s Paper Trail. I actually am digging this Jazze Pha-produced track. It’s very single/radio friendly. Although, there is one thing that I’m confused about. Most of the music that I’ve heard from T.I.’s album, including this song and the new single, “Whatever You Like,” don’t really seem to match up with the theme of the album’s title. Regardless, I think that T.I. fans are really looking for him to redeem himself, considering I didn’t hear a lot of great things about the way T.I. vs. T.I.P. was received.
♫ Ne-Yo - So You Can Cry (full) - listen
Here’s some new music from Ne-Yo. I will say, I really enjoy this song. I love the vocal arrangement and Ne-Yo’s background vocals are lovely on this song to me. It took me a minute to get into the song, but once the hook came in, I loved it. Although Year of the Gentleman was pushed back from its old June release, Ne-Yo has began promo for his new single, “Miss Independent.” So much material has been leaking, but I’m really hoping that “So You Can Cry” makes the tracklisting for the new album.
♫ Ludacris feat. T.I. - Wish You Would (full) - listen
Ludacris didn’t lie when he said that he was doing a more theatrical album, because in all honesty, that’s the feel I got when the song came on. The start of it was very dramatic. When I first read the tags on this song (the “featuring T.I.” part, mostly), I was extremely surprised. The two, after “beef,” have come together to collaborate on Ludacris’s 6th album, Theater of the Mind, due out October 21st. Although I’m not a huge fan of the production, I think Ludacris and T.I. make the track with both of their deliveries. Both of the rappers have so much energy to me, so I’m digging that aspect of the song.
♫ The Game feat. Ne-Yo - Camera Phone (full) - listen
I love the simplicity of the production on this song, and there’s actually something that I really like just about the song in general. However, I am tired of Ne-Yo jumping on all these songs with rappers. To me, I don’t think he suits these songs well. He can write these hooks and let some other R&B guy get on these tracks and still make his money. I don’t know, I just didn’t get into the whole “Bust It Baby” effect, and it seems like he’s doing a lot of that now. Maybe he’s trying to build that street credibility, but I’m not sure how far that’ll go when crooning, “It’s a thug and a gentleman…”

This Ne-Yo song is blowing me right now.
I respect him for thinking of the concept & meaning for the song…
but it just doesn’t sound serious, it’s more sarcastic and “fuck you-ish” lol.
And the beat isn’t all that great. I feel like i’ve heard it before.
I don’t know how i feel about this new Ne-Yo. I liked the old him better when his slow R&B jams were on point, like “Mirror”, “Say It”, “Time”, and “So Sick”. Those were my shits lol!
The only NEW one i like from him so far is “Don’t Fall In Love”. That’s the old Ne-Yo comin back…
…but this new Ne-Yo, this “I’m tired of r&b, now i wanna do more pop music” Ne-Yo, isn’t doin it for me. He ALMOST lost a fan after i heard “Closer” and “Miss Independent”.
WTF.

And why can’t Stargate seem to make as big hits for Ne-Yo (their own production partner), as they do for Rihanna, and pretty much everybody else? lol

…and yea…Ne-Yo doesn’t get any street cred with me when he does the whole “i wanna collaborate with all the hard rappers” shit.
WAS IT JUST ME, OR DID NE-YO REALLY NOT GRASP THE CONCEPT OF WHAT A “BUST IT BABY” IS???
His hook in the song was basically saying that he wanted the girl to know that she wasn’t just a one-time thing and that he wanted her to be the main chick in his life.
That’s NOT what a bust it baby is.
A Bust It Baby is basically a booty call, but a little more. She’s the one you call when you just wanna fuck. She’s a freak and she’s the one who knows every position imaginable. That’s it. She understands that agreement and he does as well. He may buy her shit once in a while if he feels generous, but she doesn’t, and shouldn’t, expect anything.
