♫ Ne-Yo - It’s You (full) - listen
I really loved the last track that we posted from Ne-Yo, but not so much this one. And I think the reason why I don’t like this song as much as the other is because they actually feel the same to me. Although I like the melody and the vocal arrangement for this song, I think it’s something about Ne-Yo’s voice and delivery on this song. I’m hoping that this isn’t making the tracklisting for Ne-Yo’s new album, Year of the Gentlemen, which is due out soon. Hopefully his new single, “Miss Independent” pushes the album so Ne-Yo doesn’t have to suffer another push-back.
♫ Pussycat Dolls feat. R. Kelly - Out of This Club (full) - listen
Despite my excitement for the Pussycat Dolls new album, Doll Domination, after the release of their first single, “When I Grow Up,” I am very disappointed with this new song, “Out of This Club,” which features and is produced by the industry’s resident crazy man, R. Kelly. The track feels like a lackluster version of “Love In This Club,” and it pretty much just bores me. I would have thought with a name like Doll Domination, Nicole and the girls would be giving me something a little more lively than this. This track just doesn’t do it for me.
♫ Jazmine Sullivan feat. T.I. & Missy Elliott - Need U Bad (Remix) (full) - REMOVED
Sorry for taking so long to post this! I know how you guys love Jazmine Sullivan. Every version that I had that I could find was always cutting off at the top, but here is the “Need U Bad” remix featuring T.I. in it’s full form. Nothing much to be said, this song is still just as great as it was without T.I. I cannot wait for the release of Jazmine’s debut album, Fearless due out in September.
♫ One Chance - I’m Callin’ (full) - listen
I’m genuinely disappointed about what seems to be going on with these boy’s project. A lot of material from their album, Private has been leaked, and it seems as though they have no set release date, and at this rate, the guys will have nothing new to put on their album. “I’m Callin’” is one of the many songs that has leaked that had the potential to make the album. I guess Usher is too busy tring to revive his career that he just hasn’t “had time” to work with One Chance, who’s debut album was supposed to release some time ago.

okay I haven’t heard any of the songs b/c I can’t(i’m at work) however I must express my disappointment with the industry still accepting R.Kelly. Why are people still working with him knowing what he did. Its just like people are putting their morals asside just to make a hit.
And sorry but the public is no longer interested in Mr. Kelly..i know i’m not

@ 4 I agree he has some loyal stans for real and some will still support him I won’t be his considered a musically genius in R&B. I was a huge fan but all the issues he has had wiped away his appeal to me.

Alot of Ne-Yo’s music sounds the same. Even the music he writes for other artists sounds the same. That is not good!

LONG….
I come from an era where a “Remix” was a new song, and [possibly] a feature. Jasmine Sullivans song was tight as f*ck to me, until T.I., not needed. And if it is an official remix - the “mix” is horrible. The verses are distorted, but the chorus is clean as hell, signs of bad mix and unfinished work (maybe not mastered, or cut hot) IMO. Just an honest opinion from an engineering and production - “song as a whole” point of view. Its not an mp3 issue as the chorus is crisp btw. The song is good, on its own, no need for a remix or rap on it, it kinda takes away from the purity and beauty of the song. The harmonies on the chorus, f*ckin tight!
One Chances adlibs at the beginning sound like akon with singing lessions, funny. The song is typical of the last 4 years of R&B and south tempo production, and songwriting - LOL @ the way “shortay” in there like that - not needed. Though it might work for some, it will be forgotten by many , as 30 other Male R&B groups/artists have this same sound and have had it for the last 4 years or so. Plus, producers, please, lay off of Vanguard and the Fantom Techno arpeggio’s - “My Love” killed it and worked well, yall just sound like followers of a pop song. If you can’t add energy into your song maybe a tempo adjustment on the chorus would suffice, or a less dense vocal mix to let other elements shine through.
Neyo’s song, sounds like ColdPlay throwaway before he starts singing. And when he starts singing and the drum comes in, it just sounds “cheap”, sampled strings, piano, and drums (probably an ezdrummer or addictive drums, midi loop dragged into the sequencer) - there is no “swing” on it, everything except for his voice is quantized, and thin, taking away from the great and powerful song it could be. Compare the pianos to Coldpay’s “Fix you” not the notes but the sound, its more powerful. Neyo’s song needs “realizm”. In an era where all these R&B artists and producers claim to be “great” and have big budgets and lots of money, they never seem to get a session drummer, and real piano recording, - both of which can be had for less than 600.00 - maybe pick up the real instrument and play? Just a thought.
PCD and RK, the “enough” in the lyrics is too much honestly. The “Hey!!!’s” are old. Are yall tired of “Club” songs? And it does sound like a Love in this club remake. And dammit - producers use a real distorted guitar! Think Isley Brother’s Voyage to Atlantic - that is how guitars through a distortion pedal are supposed to sound - f*ckin feeling - know what I mean? Again, another forgettable song, R Kelly, not needed.
Listening to music from around the world, it makes this “airplay/club friendly” stuff sound like under produced B.S. I for one, want more from our artists today, because they represent us whether we like it or not. I will, and do support them, when they are good. I like a big mac every now and then, but that burger at the family reunion kicks the sh*t out of that big mac. Better ingredients? Better chef? More attention to satisfying those that you serve? Not mass produced? Just a thought…

Don’t like that PCD track. It contains every fad/cliche in songs today. Use of synths, guys yelling “hey,” T Pain voice, and the use of the word “swagger.”

ok,ne-yo song sounds like usher’s song Will Work For Love….i like his version but i like usher’s version better….anyway,i’ve liked everything i’ve heard from ne-yo so far..he’s so talented.
Brian,i have never agreed with you about anything as much as i agree with you about One Chance…..Usher needs to sit his ass down and work on putting their album out…….i dont see why these artists actually sign these people and then dont even put any work into getting their music out….Jay-Z did the same thing with Joe Budden but i wont even go on about that because im still pissed about that whole ordeal
anyway,i have so much of One Chance’s music on my pc,its ridiculous..usher is wrong for this one
@7,i agree,i was still bumpin R.Kelly but for some reason,i just cant listen to him anymore…..

I haven’t even listen to these songs cause I’m at work right now so I can’t but I actually agree with Brian about Neyo songs. I have both of his albums and I love the first album thought the second one would be just as good but when I started actually listening to it I realized that mostly all his songs are basically the same and in some shape or form they talk about the same things. Don’t get me wrong Neyo is talented but he needs to stop being repetitive. As for Jasmine Sullivan love her music, I hope she brings some life back to this dead R&B. PussyCat Dolls and R.kelly wtf? I love them but I can’t stand RKelly. I will give it a listen when I get home tonight…..

You mean One Chance hasn’t thrown in the towel yet? They have decent voices but their music is just so lame. And, once again, sometimes the repeat thing works in a chorus and sometimes it doesn’t. Here, it’s too much. Did Cherish write it? LOL. I kid. But seriously. The lyrics are too cliche for my liking.
Ne-Yo–That is one of 2 songs from usher that I actually paid for. Ne-Yo cannot get with Usher vocally so using the same beat just didn’t work out. Usher sings the hell out of that song. I’m gone listen to it right now. LOL.
PCD–??

Let this be a lesson for those that are aspiring singers or artists or whatever…
NEVER sign under another artist’s imprint. NEVER. They’ll never see the light of day.
It only worked for Kanye West because he had the money to push himself from production on other people’s records.
BUT NOBODY ELSE is gonna shine under another person’s name like that, ’cause they only gonna think about number 1: themselves.

Dont like this Ne-Yo track anymore than the track ya’ll post the other day. Ne-Yo needs to work with new fresh producers and writers cuz this shit is getting redundant.

Ne-Yo:This track isn’t half bad, but it’s obvious he needs to switch up his delivery and production. It still sounds like the same old thing I’m used to hearing from him.
PCD: I’m not feeling it at all. Lyrics are lackluster and heard it all before production wise. It seems like their starting to lose their edge. They can’t seem to get it right this 2nd time around. R. Kelly added nothing to the song either. He used to have his own style and sound, but now he’s a bandwagon producer. Just following trends instead of setting them. It’s eerie listening to him anyway.
Jazmine: I see the track has been removed, but I heard it on another blog and it’s okay, I like the orignal much better though.
Once Chance: The song is decent. The harmonies sound pretty good. Brian brought up a good point. These guys have been waiting on the sidelines for years. I think they have potential, but they ‘rejust finding a hard time striking that hit, which is the same thing going on with Sterling Sims. I think they have talent, so I hope they eventually find the hits they need.
