My apologies on the delay on these tracks! It’s been crazy over here on my end. Anyway, here’s the new song that the internet is going nuts for, “Swagger Like Us,” from T.I., Kanye, Hov and Weezy. The only thing that’s missing is T-Pain! I’m kidding. Anyhow, the song is supposedly on T.I.’s new album, Paper Trail and samples from M.I.A.’s hit, “Paper Planes,” which I’m a little disappointed that people are just now getting into. I’ve already heard this song getting radio spins, it’s expected to be pretty big.

Interesting bit of new material from Anthony Hamilton, whose voice I absolutely love. Production-wise and musically, this is different from anything I’ve heard him on, but it suits his voice. Although I haven’t heard anything about a new Anthony Hamilton project, so I’m excited to hear new music from him. I’m a fan of David Banner too, so this is a nice sound for me. Cool.

Recently, we featured Rantz in our Hot Or Not section, so here’s a new cut from him, entitled “Hey.” I actually really like the vocal arrangement on this song. The chorus sounds really good to me. The production on this song feels really ’90′s R&B to me. But in a good way. Not in the way that I feel like the song is really dated. I’m interested to see what else Rantz will produce as far as his material. I think he could be promising.

Check out this unreleased track from Usher. “Traffic” was produced by none other than Nate “Danjahandz” Hill, and written by The Clutch. I actually like this song a lot, but it wouldn’t have fit in at all with the Here I Stand album. I think that when they changed the direction of the album, the cuts that Usher did with Danja (aside from “Appetite”) and The Clutch were scrapped. Interestingly enough, so much of that material has leaked after the disappointment in the album. It’s been said that Usher is already working on a new album to put out as early as the top of next year.

I Love that T.I. joint.. it actually goes hard, T.I. has really been trying to come with this new music. The past 2 single he dropped i really felt and i’m glad he found out who he really needed to put on a track to make it hot. Seeing as though all these guys have a HOT swag!!!
The sample from M.I.A. really goes hard with them rapping on the top of it, my favorite part is the LIL WAYNE verse.

Anthony Hamilton is one of my favourite artists, but there is something about this track that I’m not quite feeling as much as I feel his other material. I guess it’s the production, not feeling it at all.
I heard that Anthony has a new album, ‘The Point Of It All’ planned for this Autumn, can’t wait!

I’m so tired of people pointing out the fact that “Paper Planes” is a couple years old..who cares? Do you know how many mainstream songs are old by the time they work their way to radio? Now, I can’t understand that gripe but I do get that lots of her fans hate the fact that she’s being embraced in the mainstream because it’ll likely change her into some pop act. I’m looking for her new stuff to have almost no references to politics. The mainstream will taint her, that’s for sure!

i heard SLU the other day…T.I’s verse kills every other rapper’s verse in that song… wayne & kanye’s verses SUCK!and those are my two favorite rappers right now but they were disappointing….jay-z’s verse was hot but T.I. could have done all 4 verses himself IMO.

Please. Can we rap about something else? I listened to it on youtube and read the lyrics and it’s nothing close to spectacular. In order of creativity and wordplay, T.I. > Jay-Z > Kanye > Wayne. If these four are supposed to be the “kings” of the game, then the lyrics need to match with that expectation.

I really am feeling this TI anthem….I heard Paper Planes while in DC about a year ago and I couldn’t appreciate it cause the whole enviroment that I was in but this reintroduces MIA and her video has been getting alot of play on VH1 Soul…I am a fan of music and with hip hop and its use of sampling it keeps us aware of old and new music that we may have never had the chance to enjoy..Sampling her music is no different all of the other thousands that have been used over the years…..loved Jay’s verse, and TI….FANS should be happy that she will be get sweet residuals off of this for the rest of 2008….
