One Brandy song at a time! More material has leaked from her sessions from the new album, Human, which hits stores November 11th. The production on this is quite interesting, but I’m digging the song. Vocally, Brandy just does it for me. From her crazy vocal arrangements, to her absolutely crazy adlibs, I just love Brandy’s vocal delivery to death. She’s teasing me with this leaked material, because I just have a feeling that the album is going to be pure craziness.

I remember a couple of years ago, LL Cool J and 50 were quite chummy at some award show, so I was interested to see whether or not they would cut some songs together. I guess this is the product of that new-found friendship. “Feel My Heart Beat” is neither here nor there for me. It’s a cut from LL Cool J’s last album on Def Jam, entitled Exit 13. His single, “Baby” featuring The Dream has been doing pretty well, getting love in the clubs and on BET’s 106 & Park. I wonder if this is LL’s last album, or will he be seeking a new deal with a new label after this album drops and his contract is up…

T-Pain just released his new video for his first single, “Can’t Believe It,” from his upcoming, highly anticipated new album, Thr33 Ringz. Although I’m not a huge fan of T-Pain, his talent is undeniable. He truly is a master at what he does, no matter how much I think his music starts to sound the same. T-Pain does what he is paid to do: make hits. “Got To Go” is no different. Not a huge fan of the content, but the song is definitely catchy, with those classic T-Pain harmonies.

So, I’m about tired of all these changes being made about Usher! Apparently, “What’s Your Name?” has been serviced to pop radio, when we were previously informed that Usher was releasing “Trading Places” and “His Mistakes” to radio. Whatever song they choose to go with, they need to go with something quick, considering that it’s been a while since “Moving Mountains” has gotten a lot of video and radio play. Usher needs to drop a single and video quick if he expects to keep the lukewarm Here I Stand afloat.

I couldn’t agree more but lets not rule Monica out though I like it too but she just has not nor ever sold more than Brandy at all. Brandy has more and has always been more mainstream/pop appeal with her audience and her music than Monica even proven with her music/singles. You have white, black, German, etc people that I heard in an interview saying that they love Brandy. Monica is more popular as far as urban mainstream and the little pop audience only remembers her with Brandy.

The Brandy song Departed wasn’t released to US radio according to Billboard until August 26th. It was already in rotation before it was actually released and when it was released this week it already peaked at 56 on Hot R&B/Hip Hop Airplay so what does that tell you it was already getting played before it was even released and Brown and Lovely she was #1 for the most adds for those who don’t know what that means it means that her song was distributed to the most radio stations and airplay, Monica’s wasn’t at all. I am truly a Brandy fan and I love Monica and in all honestly hope both of them do well especially Brandy which I know she will. But please don’t make it seem like Monica is ahead of Brandy cause she is not.

No one knows what kind of feel Brandy and her team was trying to go for at all I see. Brandy stated that with this album she was trying to go for a more international pop album with a little bit of the old Brandy and a little country. Brandy is doing that mainstream sound to put her back on the map and to be honest regardless how much some people don’t like it, it is getting heavy rotating and already raising on the charts. Monica single I do like but it’s like but it’s like that sound has already been done before, no one can compare them not even me. They both have their own style and sounds, Brandy is more mainstream/pop and alternative, Monica is more hip hop/R&B but the thing is Brandy has a more mainstream audience with her music. Brandy before her single was released to radio this pass Tuesday it was number 70 on R&B Airplay then when it was released after Tuesday it has now jumped to number 56 on R&B Airplay according to Billboard.com. Monica single Still Standing last week was number 78 on R&B Airplay and after this Tuesday has went to number 75.
