Tyra knows what to do to stay relevent. This chick Isis was one of the back ups in the 1st shoot of last season when the models had to be homeless. Tyra even mentioned that Isis was serving it up in the background when she was judging one of the girls pics. T.V. is all about gimmicks and wow factor. Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, and Laurence Fishburne are amazing actors so I am very happy for all of them. ER is still one of the best dramas ever on television so while I am sad that this is the final season I am also happy that the writing is still great up to this day.

She’s all about uplifting black women, while insulting our feminity at the same time. She has to reduce modeling to this garbage to keep her money coming in, because she didn’t blow up like Naomi. Naomi maybe a diva, but I couldn’t see Naomi doing something as tactless and tasteless as this. I hope ANYM is cancelled.

Of all the trannies, she picked a black one, not a white,latino, asian, etc, but a black one. This was not done, just by chance, because he was the baddest tranny, this was done as a mockery of black men and women.

That model is a male, when you are born you are a male, you are a male. please don’t try to accomodate their feelings by disregarding God’s creation. Quite frankly, I’m happy for Isis! I was shocked as hell when I heard the announcement on 93.9. I’m also a friend from the past (since elem. school) and if she likes it, I love it. This is someone who is happy and making dreams come true for themselves. She’s doing major things and making things possible for the next. In life, we are not always going to agree with friends/family decisions, but we shouldn’t judge cause none of us are perfect by far…we just have to accept things and try to be supportive. We will definitely be cheering you on ISIS!!!!

Tyra is definitely scraping the bottom of the ideas barrel on this one (or her fellow producers, whichever). A PRE-OP transgender model? Is he even able to model swim/underwear? This mess is ridiculous, and we all know this isn’t about being progressive or “open minded”; it’s about exploiting a (somewhat) untapped source of hype and quick cash. Basically a freak show. (No i’m not refering to him as a freak, just the situation in which he is being paraded around in.)

Oh, and even when he does have surgery to ‘finish’ his transition, regardless of the legalities of him having to be adressed as a female on documents, biologically, he will always be male. Neither cosmetic surgery nor hormononal injections change the chromosomes of a human, which is essentially what defines gender on a genetic level.

The idea of allowing a transexual to compete as a model is progressive in itself. A “model” models products. She is not neccessarily a role “model”… so all this talk of using a transexual is degrading to high fashion is bullsh*t.

The only thing that makes me skeptical with Tyra’s true intentions is that Isis is not very competive to me. She has a huge gap, a deep voice, very thin ankles that make her feet look like bowling balls, not to mention a commical cat walk. These are all qualities that showed up as weakness in past models…
