Cycle 11 contestant Isis (CWTV)
So everybody has been going apenuts over America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11 after it was revealed that one of the contestants Isis – is a transgender female.
Well it really blew my mind because this is my former hang out buddy from high school!
Boy you can imagine the phone calls I received from the rest of my past H.S classmates, but I find pretty hilarious that she has the world going crazy over this. Isis you better keep working it, and screw Fox News!
Watch Isis tell her take to Entertainment Tonight, and catch her along with the rest of the models that make the cut on the series premiere, which airs September 3rd @ 8pm on the CW.

NBC announced this week that actors and real life married couple Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance will guest star on a multiple episodes of ER as it approaches it’s final season:
Courtney B. Vance, Bassett’s real-life spouse, has taken a recurring role for the NBC drama’s 15th and last season. He’ll be playing the husband of Bassett’s character, a new attending physician at County General.
“We are excited to see the on-screen chemistry and emotion this incredibly talented husband and wife team will bring to our show,” executive producer David Zabel says. “Fans are in for a treat, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that they chose ‘ER’ to make their first [TV] appearance together.” SOURCE

FISHBURNE JOINS CSI

Replacing William Petersen, Emmy & Tony winner Laurence Fishburne will become a leading regular on CSI, playing a forensics scientist with a secret:
“I am elated and delighted to be joining the cast of ‘CSI,’ ” Fishburne said in a statement, adding that he looked forward to a “wonderful collaboration” with those involved in the series.
Fishburne plays a college lecturer and former pathologist who is focused on why people commit acts of violence. SOURCE
Fishburne is one of my favorite actors so, I may start tuning in. Catch the series premiere of CSI on CBS October 9th @ 9pm.

Tyra is very stupid for putting a transsexual in her show. so r people tryin to say its ok to be a transsexual? its like in this world today, everything is right. no more morals, damn.
Tyra is definitely scraping the bottom of the ideas barrel on this one (or her fellow producers, whichever). A PRE-OP transgender model? Is he even able to model swim/underwear? This mess is ridiculous, and we all know this isn’t about being progressive or “open minded”; it’s about exploiting a (somewhat) untapped source of hype and quick cash. Basically a freak show. (No i’m not refering to him as a freak, just the situation in which he is being paraded around in.)
Oh, and even when he does have surgery to ‘finish’ his transition, regardless of the legalities of him having to be adressed as a female on documents, biologically, he will always be male. Neither cosmetic surgery nor hormononal injections change the chromosomes of a human, which is essentially what defines gender on a genetic level.
WoW, people! Good to see that everyone isn’t ignorant to differences. Great that some of you don’t understand the life of a transgender. Y’all are probably the same ones who hate gay, unless he’s some femmed out funny friend. Get over it! Are you jealous that this transgendered person looks better than you as a born female? I think so. Let Isis live and enjoy her life. She is paving the way for other transgendered individuals to be seen as more than just a freak(as some of you would say). I do agree that Tyra is doing this for ratings. She’s biting off of S. Combs( I love that show by the way). Isis may be a top model guinea pig, but I’m sure she doesn’t mind. She’s thinking, I’m on t.v. bitches!! GAG!!! LOL!!

The idea of allowing a transexual to compete as a model is progressive in itself. A “model” models products. She is not neccessarily a role “model”… so all this talk of using a transexual is degrading to high fashion is bullsh*t.
The only thing that makes me skeptical with Tyra’s true intentions is that Isis is not very competive to me. She has a huge gap, a deep voice, very thin ankles that make her feet look like bowling balls, not to mention a commical cat walk. These are all qualities that showed up as weakness in past models…
What clearly could be mistaken for progressive is really comical and exploitation at its best.
