VIDEO: LARRY KING’S BERNIE MAC TRIBUTE

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Larry King had a special Bernie Mac tribute on his show Tuesday evening. He was joined by the whole ‘Kings of Comedy’ crew (D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer and Steve Harvey), as well as Bernie’s co-stars from his self-titled hit show. I provided most of the parts, but make sure to visit DIMEWARS.COM to view the full special.

In related news, Bernie Mac’s public memorial service and funeral will be held in Chicago on Saturday. Services are scheduled for noon in the 10,000-seat House of Hope at 752 E. 114th St.

I watched this last night. It was good but when Larry brought up the Obama situation. you could almost read Steve’s mind cause he was looking like ‘That is not what I’m here for.’ And Ashton looked genuinely saddened by his death. I still can’t believe he’s gone!

I watched it…it was nice. I think D.L was tryin to take too much of the time as an opportunity to “say a line”. Yes…we all know you are a comedian. He kinda made it more about his jokes and punch lines and a lil less about Bernie. I did appreciate Larry for doing doing the show. Bernie was a good guy…he did him and was still respected in the biz.You gotta respect that. R.I.P. Bernie.

Steve Harvey is such a Dickhead. He needs to go and crawl up under a rock. He is not only a deadbeat dad he is a dead beat as far as a man, friend and human. He isnt funny and he looks even uglier without the toupe. Steve you will never be on the level of Bernie Mack so just face the fact that Bernie was a comedian and you are a dickhead. RIP Bernie you were and still are the Best Commedian ever.

I thought the show was fitting . . .as Ced said, Bernie wouldn’t want people all over him or his grave whooping and crying and carrying on . . some people just know how to be extra from guilt and some just want to been seen . . .the human side of us makes us grieve, but also in grieving you have to have some dignity about yourself and the loved one you’ve lost. Bernie will be sorely missed. My prayers are that the family finds comfort and peace and I also pray for Bernie’s soul. I know that his wife and daughter will tell that grandbaby of his what a wonderful poppa Bernie was and show her tons of pics and let her watch his stand up comedy flicks when she’s old enough to get a sense of who her poppa Bernie was.

this is still so shocking to me..everytime i read something about bernie, its like hearing about his death for the first time over and over again.

i agree with D.L,i think Bernie Mac was truly one of the best comedians ever.he didnt care what people thought of what he had to say,as the old people say “whatever came up,came out”

lol@the clip about his own daycare…his scenes in the Kings Of Comedy was the best….

I prefer to remember how funny he was and what he contributed to comedy instead of grieve and say “its so sad” because it really isn’t..the man was suffering and now he’s passed on we should celebrate his journey.

When I heard the news of Bernie’s death, I instantly felt like I was hearing of the loss of my own family member. His type of comedy was so true to life’s situations. My sympathy to his entire family. Check this billing for the next best comedy show:

LAUGHTER FROM ABOVE
STARRING: REDD FOXX, RICHARD PRYOR, introducing: BERNIE MAC

GOD BLESS

RIP, TX

I kept getting choked up during that special even though they meant to celebrate his life.

his tv family looks so beautiful. i noticed camille winbush almost cry but she sucked it in when the actress who played her aunt rubbed her back.

I kept laughing and in between, I caught myself crying. It’s still shocking. I thought I was prepared for it because it was an ongoing health issue, that I dunno… i just felt he’d succum to eventually…but when his death finally hit… it still shocked me. Probably because it’s hard to believe he’s actually gone.

That punkd episode is funny.

Nice tribute. I love the fact that his co-stars (Kings Costars)…were able to throw in jokes, to lighten the sadness there. He’s an amazing guy who will truly be missed. I still cant get over this man’s death.

It definitely couldve did without the Obama comment. He really didn’t need to throw in the obama part. Obama probably feels sad about it and will release a comment eventually. But whether you like the way he gets his point across or not, you still like the fact that HE GETS HIS POINT ACROSS. Profanity or not. That man said what he felt and said it in a way that not only made you laugh but was 100% truth.

God blessed us with a wonderful man, and felt it was his time to go home. Bernie’s home. Take care of him for us God.
