I must admit, for years I wrote off Solange as being wack and needing to just stay in her corner because a “Beyonce” she’ll never be, but this girl is actually really good! That was one, hot, ACID TRIP of a video. I was expecting to see Skittles candy falling out of a rainbow in the sky, it was so colorful. Loved it!

Even if your not feeling Solange you have to give her props. She did what Kelly and Michelle weren’t able to do, break out from her sisters shadow. Most female artist get compared to Bey, unless its like Alicia Keys someone who has created her own niche, they fall short, but there is no need to compare Sol and Bey’s music. They are distinctly different.

Solange was always cool with me, I ain’t go out and get the first CD even though I liked that “there is this guy…” song, but I for sure will be getting this one and if the first one is on sale I might grab that too.
But the fashion in this video is amazing, of course very much Ms. Ross but if you gotta be inspired by someone Diana isn’t a bad choice.
And yeah her voice is definitely acquired taste, but she doesn’t come off as forced and made/ groomed for celebrity as her sister, which I hope is not a gimmick cause it works. and if she keeps it up she’ll find herself in the ranks of my fashion faves coming in third to Kelis and Rihanna, go Sol-Angel.

You know im ALL down for the singers like Whitney and Aretha..but Really people Not EVERYONE is going to be a power house..Im getting a little tired of seeing those type of comments like: What happen to real singers..I really dont get it. True their are some people in the industry who can not sing and are soley famous because of image, but there are some people who may not be able to hit a note like mariah or whitney, but have talent. For example Diana Ross?..Da Boss! I mean have you ever heard her belting out songs? No, but she is still a legend and Icon! Because Solange must struggle with being in her sister’s shadow the absolute worst thing she could ever ever do is come off as low browed. And she’s succeeded at doing just that with this video. She’s almost acting out all the lyrics, which is fine if you’re singing about your booty but not at all cool if you’re trying to be highly artistic. Also, she just looked really realy lame and amateur through the whole thing…the make-up and weave looked like she did it herself ten minutes before each shot. This looked like a bootleg version of her first video.

And I hope those “exclusive promo shots” aren’t the ones floating around the blogs this morning…

I like the fact that Solange is trying to bring something different to the table. I am a very versatile person & I’m pretty much open to anything new. Not saying that her genre of music hasn’t been done before but I don’t always crawl to the same types of music. I actually like this song and while the video isn’t a big difference from the first it’s still cute.

Of course not everyone is going to like her as an artist or her music but so what that’s life. EVERYBODY aint gon’ like you.

I love that she is gettin her shine. Im lovin her throwback pop style.
The Knowles should be very proud of their daughters they both are absoloutely amazing.
I love that Beyonce is a R&B artist
and that Solange is a POP artist
They both are going in different directions and will take over the music world together.

OMG thank you @ Courtney_Luv (#120). I thought I was the ONLY one who saw this. The Knowles are simply following the Simpson recipe. Beyonce is mainstream and since SOlange can’t hang on that level, they’re marketing her as the anti-Beyonce. GTFOH! Solange is about as much eclectic as Ashlee Simpson is punk rock. It’s call a marketing strategy people. Wake up! Home girl is not an artist. Plus, I see that she’s going out of her way to make it known that she took part in this video’s production since some people, myself included, criticized her for not doing so in the first video. This chic is too force and it reads all across her face in her videos. Her facial expressions are so vacant and she seems to lack personality. With that said I’ll leave on a positive note. I feel bad for calling her out. She looked nice in the Campbell Soup scene.

Sorry Solange, don’t believe what people are saying. So you have a couple of hundred fans and you did a better job than your last album but you are going to get clobbered in this industry. When you get through trying to hard and color painting all these videos (that have nothing to do with the songs), you will be crying yourself to sleep at night. This album is really amazing. Take it from someone who was not at all a Solange fan. This album not only shifted my views of her but immensely solidified them. She wrote the whole album and the songs are discriptive, personal, and extremely artistic. I really wish the Grammys would have recognized it. Too bad. It’s a special project. I’m diggin’ it Solange.
