After much anticipation, Jennifer Hudson finally released her self-titled debut album today…
We first familiarized ourselves with Jennifer Hudson on Fantasia’s season of American Idol, where she was voted off and was told by Simon that she’d never really amount to much. I guess he’s eating his words. Hudson scored the much sought-after role of Effie White in the critically acclaimed 2006 adaptation of the Broadway music, Dreamgirls. Hudson performed with an all-star cast, including the likes of Oscar-award winning Jamie Foxx, Dannie Glover, Eddie Murphy, as well as Beyonce, and actually won an Academy Award herself for Best Supporting Actress. The girl with the big voice and the big dreams was definitely making her way, and it was then that Clive Davis offered her a deal with J. Records to record her debut album.
Janet Jackson, who has been getting rave reviews on her Rock Witchu tour was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment “due to illness.”
After she “got suddenly ill during the sound check” of her concert in Montreal Monday, the singer was rushed to a local hospital, according to W&W Public Relations.
Jackson, 42, is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show. [SOURCE]
When asked for further explanation about the incident, Michal Wielgus, a publicist for Gillett Entertainment Group says that the incident is reported at the last minute just before the show time.

Ciara’s third studio album, Fantasy Ride, is scheduled to be released on December 9th (but we heard it got pushed back to ‘09)..

Sorry for being late with this! We’ve been going through this server change, and I’ve been out of town, but I’m back on schedule. Anyway, I knew 50 was up to no good when I saw those videos of him mocking Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” again, so it looks like they’re gonna have another showdown. Didn’t 50 learn anything the last time around? “50 For President” isn’t really anything spectacular. In all honesty, it sounds like something else he’s done before, but I’m sure this isn’t the material 50’s got up his sleeve for this “comeback.” Wasn’t he retiring?

Although not my favorite to leak from the material from John’s new album, Evolver, I’m still digging the Estelle-assisted “No Other Love.” I like that John is really trying something different and stepping out of his box, because in this day and age, you don’t want to be pigeon-holed into being one type of artist. I think John recognized that and showed that he can do more than just sit behind a piano and sing, ’cause that’s definitely his comfort zone. Evolver drops on October 28th.

While attending the Gucci runway show in Milan last week, Rihanna told WWD that she is working on her own fashion line. Surprise, surprise right?…
Rihanna has casually mentioned she’d like to design a clothing line. But at the Gucci show in Milan she confirmed she’s actually going to do it.
“I can’t say when it will be released, but it’s definitely going to happen,” she told WWD. “I’m not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time.”
Rihanna who is the latest spokesperson for Gucci , shot her first campaign with the brand over the summer and it is said to run in publications later this Fall season.
She has a little experience working with fashion - last year she released a line of umbrellas with Tote, and designed a shirt for H&M’s “Fashion Against AIDS” campaign. Would you cop Rihanna’s fashion line?
Janet Jackson, Joy Bryant, Serena Williams and Jada Pinkett Smith are among the celebrities that designed shoes for shoe designer Stuart Weitzman’s Annual Celebrity Shoe Auction for Ovarian Cancer.
The shoes, which looks to be designed NOT for wearing, include autographed photos from the stars and anyone is eligible to bid. All proceeds from the auction will support the work of Dr. Marsha Moses of the Folkman Institute at Children’s Hospital Boston to develop a urine test for ovarian cancer.
