I’m in the process of growing my hair out and my edges are a different texture then the rest of my hair. I can’t manage my edges they curl and frizz up and won’t get straight. They are also very rough. What do you recommend I do with them?

Hi Ursula! I need your help, I have hair that is mildly curly. I can’t really state the texture of my hair other than the fact that it is mildly curly. Just to make it a bit easier for you, I would like to point out that I have only used a relaxer once before. Do you have any products that I could use to make my hair bouncier thicker and ultimalely more manageble? (P.s READY is Trey Songz’s upcoming album… for anyone who is curious0

Hi, I have high cheek-bones and a fairly round face. I have had longer hair all my life. Recently, I tried a bob and that’s grown out, but I would like to go shorter like Kelis’s initial cut…Do you have any recommendations? Is that the best type of cut for my face?

I have dandruff bad, I wash my hair atleast 3-4 times a week and I wear weaves to try to keep it down, but I’d rather to maintain my own hair plus i don’t feel like the glue and tight braids(for sew in’s) is healthy for my hair. Do you have any sugestions on how to keep dandruff down and keep hair healthy all at once???

My hair is natural and I have been straightening it a lot lately, but it does not stay as straight as I would like it to for as long as I would like it too. I do not like putting too much heat in my hair, are there any poducts that you recommend? Also when I do want to wear my hair more curly do u have any products that you recommend to hold the natural curl and not kink up?
Thank you

My 7 year old daughter has a curl softner in her hair. She has light brown hair that is very dry and will not hold any curl other than a wet set (shirley temple style). Her hair is very soft and once you brush it, the curls fall right out. She wants to wear her hair down at times what can I use to moisturize her hair without making the hair too heavy and what can I use so she can wear it down and curly? Thanks!

HI Ursula!! I have a short hair cut similar to Rihanna but not as choppy. I love the way everyone is weaing their hair spiky and funky. What is the best way to make my hair stand up and spike like that? Should I be using the flat iron to spike it or the hot curler? If so, what way should I be curling it?

Hi, I have two questions. I’ve usually have my hair cut, but just recently I’ve been trying to let it grow out. So what would be your suggestions on how to grow long healthly hair? My next question is how do you prevent hair breakage? I have very thick and coarse hair and the breakage is horrible in the winter.

Hey Ursula,
I think that your work is amazing and to keep up the good work. I notice that my hair falls out alot and that my edges are almost gone. I’ve been told that my hair is very fine and basically as a college student, I just don’t know what to do to get it growing healthy. I keep mentioning my issues to my hair dresser but I don’t think she knows the ways to help me cure this situation. What products should I use on my hair from hair grease to perms? What are some ways of treating to my hair to keep it growing healthy? (Note**I’ve had a perm since 2007 and I ‘ve noticed that my hair gets shorter and thinner every year.)
P.S. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 27yrs. old and I still use Just for Me (the kid perm). It works fine cause I dont want to over perm my hair. The issue is it has grown long and once I wash it - its almost impossible to manage and comb out. I do not blow dry - I let it air dry. I condition always. DO you have any tips or suggestions for after wash tangled and matted hair so that I can manage with out spending hours trying to comb it out.

Hi Ursula,
I typically wear my hair wrapped, braided, or in a ponytail. My hair (relaxed) reaches midback. When I go to the salon, I see women with beautiful hairstyles. (Weaves/sew-ins). I tried years ago to wear a weave and my hair broke off tremendously. Are there any styles for natural/chemically relaxed hair that are sexy and stylish without getting a weave or cutting my hair?

Hi Ursula,
I’ve had my hair in braids for about 4 months now, I regularly re-do them myself so it’s not a problem keeping them in for a long time.
I usually take my hair out in the summer and straighten it as perms usually damage my hair and I have to grow it back all over again.
I’m thinking of partially putting my hair in a weave just for a new look…I want my fringe to be my own hair along with part of the sides and front, but whenever I go out and get hot my hair reverts RIDICULOUSLY, and I was wondering do you recommend anything that I can put on my hair that’s not as strong as a perm to save me from being uber natural when I get excited on the dance floor - lol?
Would appreciate your response!

Hi Ursula, I have been getting sew-ins for about last year (normally giving my hair about a months time to breathe after taking one out) My last sew-ins have been half sew-ins, with straight weave, leaving my hair out for versatility. However, now I would like to switch over to wet n wavy hair, but I was curious to know if it is possible to leave some of my straight hair out and still achieve the wet n wavy effect.
