DEREON DOES JEWELRY

Beyonce and her Mom Tina Knowles are planning to soon launch their new Deréon Jewelry - an extension of the two year Dereon Junior Line. The jewelry will feature edgy, black leather cuffs as well as necklaces, charm bracelets and hoop earrings in metal, glass and enamel. Retailing from $16 to $68, the collection will be available in Macy’s and Dillard’s, as well as contemporary specialty stores around Spring 2009. Tina tells WWD:
I love accessories and we’ve always used a lot of accessories, so it was a natural thing for us to do,” said Tina Knowles, creative director. “For the first collection, I wanted to do a lot of things taken from the street. One of the things I love to do is walk on the streets of New York or Brooklyn and see what the kids are doing, and that goes with our mantra — catwalk meets sidewalk. I saw a lot of filled hoops and charm bracelets, that’s what the kids are wearing these days.
MOST SEARCHED BRANDS

Nike came up first with 797,892 searches, Gucci followed behind second - Louis Vuitton and Juicy Couture came after, and Chanel is number five with 373,920 searches.

Wow I see diesel and guess still made it to the top 10 which is great! Nike will always be on top because they are the mnost favored sneakers and have the Jordan line under them.
Dereon clothes are hideous so I’m not surprised about the ugly bracelet I see up there. I see why Beyonce doesn’t care to wear that dereon crap. Any star that will not wear their own clothing line knows that their clothing line sucks.

Hate the Dereon sexualized kids ads. Let kids be kids and look like a child. Stop trying to let kids be in high heels and tight clothes at 10. We have a life expectency of 70+ years, kids have, lets say 60 years to be grown!! Disgusting.

So I can afford their clothes and im young(16) so because your poor don’t be trying to bash Beyonce clothing line. *smh* lol… Wow, anyway I look forward to seeing what this young black business woman is up to now!!! I don’t wear clothing with names stamped all over them but the jeans fit my ample hips small waist perfectly and the jewelery line I will def check.
I don’t want to dress like Bey I have my own style and if I see something I like I purchase it doesn’t matter who designed it. I can incorporate anything into my wardrobe and make it work and look good for my taste and body!!

lolol @Christina,
Nobody is hating on the clothing, you either like it or you don’t. You like it and that’s great, but some of us don’t like it. It has nothing to do with affording it, but sweetheart you’re only 16 so I’m sure you pay hardly any bills or have your own place. I’m glad your allowance or after school job helps you buy your dereon clothing. Enjoy.

#12 HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE POSTERS ON THIS PAGE MAKE A YEAR?…YOU DON’T! AND IF YOU ARE SIXTEEN GOOD FOR YOU, BUT YOU ARE LIKELY TO BE SPENDING SOMEONE ELSES’ HARD EARNED MONEY. AND IF YOU ARE MAKING YOUR OWN MONEY THAN THATS GOOD TOO. HOWEVER, IF YOU WANNA SPEND YOUR MONEY OR SOMEONE ELSES MONEY ON THAT PIECE OF JUNK BRACLET THAN GO RIGHT AHEAD…AS FOR THE JEWELRY IT IS UGLY! I LIKE BEYONCE SHE’S VERY TALENTED AND HAS A GREAT FUTURE AHEAD OF HER..BUT SHE CAN’T EXCEED AT EVERYTHING AND THE FREAKING BRACLET IS FLAT OUT UGLY..

Like someone stated above, another form of Baby Phat. If those brands are your style, go for it. Don’t call us poor because most of us don’t wanna spend that kind of money on wash, wear, & fall apart gear.

I was just in the store Sunday looking at Dereon shoes and I was disappointed, the gymshoes were a joke, thick soles or pancake soles… as far as accessories, I havent seen kids rocking charm braclets much just five or six braclets on one arm, but charms can pick up a fall trend im sure, but i rock graduated bracelets, they call em brains i know ew, but there just braclets that hang like chains. i think b over doing it with hoops because thats her flavor, although, i do like the spiral hoops with the multi color gems.

Wow @ Christina. Such a fan of DEREON yet you can’t spell the name (DERON). And just because a person CHOOSES not to buy the clothes does not mean you are poor sugar. Most ADULTS like those of us who visit this site, have REAL bills! My mommy and daddy don’t pay my mortgage, lights, buy my food, my SCHOOL clothes, shoes, or even the toilet paper I use to wipe my ADULT behind with. Considering the fact that you are still a KID, I am sure your PARENTS can afford to buy you a little something-something from the DEREON collection.
@14 Thank you. Glad another ADULT knows what time it is.

well i like the line. their jeans are hot and their designs are bold. most people are just calling it ugly because they are going by what somebody else says and not even looking at the site themselves. this is my motto.”if you know how to dress than you can make anything work”. As for me i wear dereon and get compliments on it every time i wear it. so it cant be that ugly.

Christina…you sound like you are from the B street team…nice try but you sound stupid…like they are…poor has NOTHING to do with someone’s choice not to buy that crap…trust. Some people like quality, timeless pieces and do not get caught up in hype or ’supporting someone’ when it comes to spending THEIR HARD EARNED CASH…support has nothing to do with it, I support my choice to have what I like and DERE DOO DOO just ain’t it. And no boo, this line isn’t sending anyone to the bank…in fact, the line is bleeding to death and this paultry attempt to generate CASH will likely flop like the hats, bags, dresses, class rings, toddler clothes, baby clothes, plus clothes…they really need to get a clue…and STOP the WACkNESS immediately!

lol @ 12. BLAH. I’m sure anyone on here can afford a deron outfit, but some people choose to spend their money on quality clothing. And I’m sorry, but Dereon isn’t that. Shit, I can find cuter outfits in Wet Seal. And if they’re trying to advertise their accessory line, they need not use that ugly bracelet to set off the promo.
And it takes a true Beyonce fan, like myself, to admit that I barely find anything in their clothing line appealing.

I actually saw a white lady carrying a leather bag that was so nice that I asked her about it. I was shocked to find out it was Dereon. It was that damn nice. Super soft leather. Dereon is not as bad as some people make it out to be. I’ve always liked the jeans and now I like some of the bags.
The bracelet actually looks like something Rihanna would wear. I bet if it was in a rihanna celeb style section done by Tianna it would be hot.:-)
I think Dereon is Tinas dream. I cant hate on anybody helping their mother find success. We all would do it if we could. You know you love your momma.

@12 bee’s clothing line isn’t even doing well. it was on the news. you know why ppl don’t like it? b/c most of the ppl who have the money to buy, wouldn’t. the line is ugly, tacky, overpriced, etc. if you’re going to pay over $100 on jeans for insatnce, go to true religion or something. even bee and solange don’t wear their mother’s line and now they want to sell accessories. if the news has to report that you’re not doing well, you know you need to give it up. clearly tina doesn’t have the gift of design

@ 29…yea they do have nice bags. I saw a few in Marshall’s that I actually would’ve thought about buying. But I don’t like the majority of their tops. Most of the time its either too much going on, or too plain. I never see something that jumps out at me. The only thing I like about their jeans is that they fit me well, since I have wide hips and a small waist.
The only time I think Dereon may have cute little pieces is if Beyonce happens to be wearing it, but if I go into Macy’s, all their stuff is ugly. So that’s how I came to the conclusion that I’m better off shopping at Wet Seal lol.

CLASS RING,
What articles are you reading cause I need to check them out. The articles I have read about Dereon say that the clothing line didn’t do very well. Also nobody till this day has outsold Jostens with class rings. Jostens has launched worldwide with colleges, highschools, and now they are even moving towards personalized rings and middle schools.
Anyways besides that my friend had a pair of dereon jeans from Macys where the buckled Dereon sign came off. She went to a tailoring company to have it fixed and they refused to do it saying the material was not strong enough to hold the buckle. This was after she paid over 100bucks for the jeans. I’ve gone to check out dereon stuff cause I like to support black businesses, but after touching the materials and looking at the designs I was disgusted so I didn’t want to spend any money on it.

Y’all calm it down. I’m admitting that some Dereon is kind of cute, some of their clothing actually does attract me. However, I can’t tell the difference between Dereon and Baby Fat, they both have all those metallic looking elements all over them.I feel like some Dereon is overpriced for looking so damn cheap. I like the plain shirts that have one Dereon sign on it but I’m definitley not feeling all those Dereon symbols and Dereon words all over the clothing. The color of the clothing looks so cheap, dried out and shit.

Yeah…Marshalls is where that ish belongs not in top end retailers as they first claimed it would be.
And in terms of supporting black business you all need to get a clue…its called a licensing agreement…the Tarrant Group (white company) pays the knowles for the name, all of the employees are white…do you know anyone that works for Dereon…nope…so what exactly are you supporting?
You all need to get a clue…but for those dumb enough to fork over your cash so Tarrant can continue to employ their people go ahead…that stuff is cheap, tacky and for those that paid full price you OUGHT to feel like a fool cause all that stuff ends up selling at a 50-75% discount..even on their own site if you just wait…for the FOOLS that ran out spending hundreds of dollars to ’support’ Beyonce…you stupid, okay! And like they say a fool and money soon departs…that is why I own a townhouse and a house, renting the townhouse, have money in the bank and not one stitch of Rocawear
Dereon

This is why black companies are not #1 on the most searched brands, because black people make cheap expensive clohes for their people. Dereon, Rocawear, Baby Phat, etc are all overpriced. LV, Gucci, Armani, etc are known for their great fabrics, the fit of their people, and the prestige (you know if you purchase one of their items it will last for years). Beyonce, Jay Z, Nelly, Eve, etc are the first ones sitting in the front row at balenciaga fashion shows, Marc Jacobs shows, and Chanel shows but they release crap to their people.
Tina Knowles has Miss Tina fashion line, House of Dereon is the line Beyonce wanted to come out with for her peers and Dereon is for the tweens/teens. According to Beyonce she chooses what it released and according to her she gives her input, so…..if this is what Beyonce likes she really has no taste.

“Shaking my head” at you folks up in here. 99% of what we buy and wear is made in “developing countries” including “Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Gucci etc., it’s a shame you folks don’t read the labels. “Imported” means made in a 3rd world country.
The game of the business is to keep as much money in your pockets. If you go to Macy’s, Nordstroms, Bloomingsdale, SaksFifthAve and look around you would see “made in Italy” hahaha! is rare as hell. Imported means made in 3rd world country, lol! “What’s up with people putting down made in China?
Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton have secret agreements with “The Asians” to make their stuff with good stitching, and good fabric. They have top quality control people, and they have to duplicate what was once the original designs to the “t” and also for this extra work, they get top pay according to their agreement. However, I don’t want to say “all employees” get top pay. Just think these big names will be losing money now if they paid the average westerner the salaries we are making now to produce clothing for them. 10 euros a month vs 10 euros an hour! Talk about a bunch of brain washed people to buy all this stuff anyway; then you wonder why we are the lowest economically people here.
Also, black people don’t have loyality to each other and support each other as others do. It’s a known fact. There is a lot of “white owned” companies that go belly up everyday. It’s a lot of white owned company that have crappy, and shitty styles and services. Yet Abercrombie and Fitch at least 5 is owned by the average white person. Fubu? what’s that? Marc Jacobs, lol! He makes big douche bags with big ass dog chains on them and voila” it’s 2,000 and we go buck wild. It’s a shame. Louis Vuitton is a horrible looking extreme logo, greasy ass looking bag, and we go mad. I can find cute bags at the local thrift store then so called “it” bags. “it” meaning you have money to waste.
It is absolutely nothing special or different about Diesel, BabyPhat, Dereon, Levi’s jeans at all except “Mass Marketing” if you took the label of those jeans you would not know the difference. However, because one price is $400 vs $40 you think it is. Okay, I have to correct myself here. You only pay for a “slightly better stitching” man please black people, we must do better then this.

yes their clothing brand sucks it’s mad hyped because of beyonces name. her mother is a tacky clothing designer also she just using beyonce to make money. when deron came out 2 years ago news reporters asked her why were the clothes rushed and made all wrong. then they said on national new in chi town that they shouldnt focus on the negative they should focus on the positive. i’m the fashion game they just threw together whatever crap they could and sold it. all the clothes were made wrong and the sizes were all wrong. her mother didnt care about line and was more concerned in the deadline of the launch the sloppy craftsman ship was very noticable but she didnt care because people will buy over priced crap with her daughters name and not care. All because it said it was made by beyonce.
