♫ NEW MUSIC FROM KANYE WEST
Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Kanye West closed this year’s MTV VMA’s with his new single from his upcoming album, the follow-up to 2007’s critically acclaimed, Graduation. The new single, “Love Lockdown” find Kanye West singing with auto-tune, a la T-Pain, with a simple drum kit and piano. I loved the energy of the song on the awards, and I love the organic feel of the studio version.
Although Kanye is a bit pitchy at times with his singing, I think that’s what makes the song. I almost wish that he’d taken it a step further and left the effects off of the vocal. I love what this sounds like though. I think the new album will be dope.
According to Amazon, Kanye’s new album is entitled 808’s & Heartbreak and is set for a December release.

IMO the live version made me appreciate this version more. I like the sound. Of course he can’t sing but theres earnest, sincere in his voice. I like it.

I agree that when he sang it live it sounded so much better, The chorus sounds completely different to me for some reason. But I love the beat especially at the end

at Mofo…that was to long for the whole word to read lol
you took it out of context. im a singer and was given a gift, yeah people do have a tone and range and can ensure that vocal lessons would help them smooth out thr rough edeges and makes them more clean as you would say. but at the likes of t pian and kanye, they going to make bathroom singers think ”oh yeah we can sing to” lol lol.yeah right.i think they shoud stick to what their know unless they are going to sing acappella.they shouldnt even consider this mess.live it to the professionals. Alcia keys.stevie wonder.Amen ha.lol

I’m not sure what Kanyes strategy is with this song, and I think there is an audience out there for this one but to me it is not in line with some of the things I have heard from him that are more mainstream. There must be something bothering him, but he better get his d*** mind right because he is to talented to lose his leverage. He should jump on that new Memphis Bleek audio and give us some real naughty baggage.

It was horrible on the VMA’s and it’s even worse now. Somebody could’ve killed this track, in a good way, and he murdered it, in a bad way lol

I like this song, there’s something raw, organic and not too polished about it. I think that people talking about this whole t-pain autotune vocal effect isn’t as prominent as t-pain (or Kanye has a better voice) although i do prefer the version at the VMA’s

So i say its hott, on fire, its sick, this song has the flu!!lol,…alright im silly…but im really feelin it. Big ups to kanye for this…its different even tho he’s using auto-tune.
