NEWS: KILPATRICK PLEADS GUILTY, RESIGNS / JESSE JACKSON HOSPITALIZED
Friday, September 5, 2008
On Thursday, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick (pictured with his wife Carlita) finally pleaded guilty to two felonies and no contest to another. Shortly after admitting he lied under oath, he submitted his letter of resignation.
As part of his plea deal he’ll lose his law license, serve 120 days in jail, spend five years on probation, not be able to run for office for five years and pay $1 million in restitution to the city.
Kilpatrick will remain in office until September 18, and City Council President Kenneth V. Cockrel Jr. will take office the following day until a special election can be held.
The youngest mayor in Detroit’s history will be sentenced Oct. 28 and report directly to jail. He will be released no sooner than Jan. 27, 2009.
JESSE JACKSON HOSPITALIZED
Jesse Jackson was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago after suffering severe stomach pains.
Doctors say he has viral gastroenteritis, but they are conducting more tests.
“I have high regard for these doctors,” Jackson said. He had been campaigning and registering voters in Georgia earlier this week when he began to feel ill after becoming dehydrated.
The 66-year-old civil rights leader said he was feeling much better but wasn’t sure when he would be released.

I hope jesse gets well soon. We have had too many Black men falling and dying from illnesses this year.
Carlita looks like she is getting ready to tear Kwame’s ass up when they get home. She looks like she bites and gives open-handed slaps.

KK’s wife looks like she is thinking “this isn’t nothing compared to what I’ve got planned for this MF”. I give her much respect for standing by him.
JJ I wish him a return to good health. Now after saying that… GOD don’t like ugly.

I’m from the D (Detroit)
What a gallant victory for the city of Detroit but at a huge cost to the Mayor and his family. However, in an effort to sound as less contradicting as I can; the division in the city that this has caused is uncanny. We must keep in my that it is OUR own actions that determine our fate. Mayor Kilpatrick, being a lawyer and a civil servant for the city consciously committed perjury and other felonious acts fully aware of his consequences. For that I will not be ashamed of for appealing for his resignation.

Looking at Carlita, reports of her smacking down a stripper years ago have to be true!
My main problem is the fact that he is a brother….why do our people get to the top and act an ass?! Crazy…he making it harder for brothers coming up behind him. Folks have the memory of elephants!

I’m so embarassed for the city of Detroit. He was asked months ago to step down before it even went this far. NOW…he’s on CNN looking like a common criminal being forced to state his name and age for the judge; all the while representing the city of Detroit.
We’re already in the spotlight for beating up and robbing “Baby” Berg , now Kwame all over the place looking like Magilla Gorilla!

Carlita looks vindicated in this photo. She stood by her man, but I’m sure she feels some sense of satisfication too. Now we’ll have to wait on Kwame’s tell all because the brother won’t be employed for a minute!

Jay-z phrased it so well when he said: the power of the p-u-s- ya’ll know the rest. It seems as though Kwame Kilpatrick is no exception to that saying. Here he is the youngest black candidate to ever be mayor in Detriot’s history and he blows it all behind some sex. Dude was dumb.

I’m sorry, but I do not feel one bit sorry for Detroits former mayor. He seemed to be using his power he thought he had to do all those foolish things and figured he’s the mayor, nothings going to happen to him. And the fact that he is all standing by his wife’s side just makes me sick. He wasn’t thinking about her when he was banging that other chick now was he? And now because of all his crap, and putting his wife & kids thru hell, he can’t even practice law anymore, and has to pay back all this money and sit up in jail for a minute…..was it all worth it? I sure hope he learns a lesson from all of this & gets his self together, right with his family & right with God. Repent, pay your debt, learn, grow & move on. Everyone makes mistakes & no ones perfect, i just hope he learns from everything that happening to him right now.

I feel ABSOLUTELY NO pity for this jerk and that thing he calls a wife! There is soooo much controversy surrounding this snake of a man I don’t know where to begin. He is an embarrassment to every black man in an elected office that takes there job seriously.
As BIG M said, why do black people get to the top and then act like an ass. YT knows they don’t have to do anything to us in order for us to fall. Just give them a little money, a little power, and enough rope to hang ourselves with. SMDH

Good Morning All! I don’t feel sorry for “Da Mayor”, but I find this whole incident to highly unfortunate…the our pepole and the American people are on the verge of experiencing what could be the greatest moment of our history, and yet we have to contend with this!
As for “ride or die”…what about “pack and leave”? This man is a fool…any time the wife of a public offical…the mayor of a major American city is involved in the “public” beating of a “stripper” (then he had an “affair”) who more than likely her husband (the mayor) hired…she should have beat him instead, maybe he wouldn’t be in this position. What I am saying is, she could have left a long time ago and he should have spared the city and resigned!

Exactly. This fool beyond embarrassed her, but then again, “till death do us part…” However, he should’ve resigned, playing wrong and strong.

#3 when you are married and have taken vow it is your obligation to work through your marriage rather than opting out after every little incident that may occur. Now on the flip side of things I understand what you are saying. I’m from Detroit and I hate to see how Kwame has handled the city affairs and his personal affairs(literally)..I just feel sorry for the children of the city who considered him a role model (my nephew included) and for his sons who ultimately are suffering.

Hey Loopers Happy Friday.
Ok on the wife, something tells me that the Mrs. knows exactly what she’s doing, I mean look at the smirk/grin on her face. I bet she’s just counting down the days until he goes to prison…and she’ll get all that free time to not worry about what the H-ll her husband is doing now.

I read that there were more txt messages from other chicks that were found as well. He should have been ousted with all those other investigations that were going on ( mis-using city funds, city car, etc) but he had to stay to add icing on the cake. You can tell he was one of those ignorant negros that thought he was invicible…lets see how invincible that booty hole will be in jail.

I hope Rev. Jackson gets well soon! As for Kilpatrick what were the people of Detroit thinking when the elected him?? Then again its not their fault that he is a liar, cheat and all aroung thug in a suit. They elected him because we as a people want to think that when we boost one to the top, that person will reach down and help the others and that is why Kilpatrick was elected.
P.S. Is it just me or does his wife look like the definition of a GOLD DIGGER!
