Former blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, were listed in critical condition after a plane crash Friday night, CNN reports.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, four people — two passengers and two crew members — were killed when a Lear jet crashed shortly after takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. Barker and Goldstein were admitted to the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, on Saturday, where they are being treated for extensive burns.
Barker and Goldstein played a free concert together as TRVSDJ-AM in Columbia on Friday night (photo above).
The deceased have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, CA co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, CA, Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, CA, and Charles Still, 25 of Los Angeles, CA.
A South Carolina resident named William Owens was driving down a highway next to the airport when he said he saw a fireball go across the road. He told local TV station WIS News 10:
“I didn’t know what I had seen — it was maybe 800 feet in front of me, but as I approached it closer though I made out a fire. By then I was able to see the tail of the jet and I recognized it as a jet,” Owens said.
Owens then described what he saw as he tried to make it to the wreckage.
“It’s in flames and the fuel is running across the road and I had to cross the fuel to get to the two guys that seemed to have been dumped on the highway,” Owens said.
Owens said the two men (Travis and DJ AM) were running around and stripping down to extinguish themselves. He then asked the men if there was anyone else on board the plane and they said four more were with them.
“We turned to the jet to try and see if there was anything we could do, but immediately, there was nothing anyone could do,” Owens said.

A doctor has announced that Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to have a full recovery after yesterday’s horrific plane crash.
Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, said both Travis and Adam suffered second and third-degree burns. Mullins said Barker’s torso and Adam’s hands and part of his head were burned.

Travis is the shit. I was so in shock when I saw this on CNN. Out of the 6 people in the crash, they are the only two that survived. I hope they come out ok, but I heard it wasn’t looking good.

I met DJ AM backstage at a Santogold set back in July, very cool dude. Never met Travis, but was always a fan. I heard his best friend/assistant died in the crash. My prayers go out to them and those who lost their lives.

The site says the 2 survivors were seen running around on fire trying to extinguish themselves.
Sad. But they were at least conscious at that time and had enough strength to help themselves until help arrived. That speaks to their strength and the grace of the almighty.

They performed at the T mobile store opening right down the street from me in Columbia South Carolina…..They also had Steve Aoki playing too (he is the brother of the Japanese girl from Sin City). A lot of my friends went to the festival last night. My god, you can’t see these things coming.
