Former blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, were listed in critical condition after a plane crash Friday night, CNN reports.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, four people — two passengers and two crew members — were killed when a Lear jet crashed shortly after takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. Barker and Goldstein were admitted to the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, on Saturday, where they are being treated for extensive burns.
Barker and Goldstein played a free concert together as TRVSDJ-AM in Columbia on Friday night (photo above).
The deceased have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, CA co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, CA, Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, CA, and Charles Still, 25 of Los Angeles, CA.
A South Carolina resident named William Owens was driving down a highway next to the airport when he said he saw a fireball go across the road. He told local TV station WIS News 10:
“I didn’t know what I had seen — it was maybe 800 feet in front of me, but as I approached it closer though I made out a fire. By then I was able to see the tail of the jet and I recognized it as a jet,” Owens said.
Owens then described what he saw as he tried to make it to the wreckage.
“It’s in flames and the fuel is running across the road and I had to cross the fuel to get to the two guys that seemed to have been dumped on the highway,” Owens said.
Owens said the two men (Travis and DJ AM) were running around and stripping down to extinguish themselves. He then asked the men if there was anyone else on board the plane and they said four more were with them.
“We turned to the jet to try and see if there was anything we could do, but immediately, there was nothing anyone could do,” Owens said.

A doctor has announced that Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to have a full recovery after yesterday’s horrific plane crash.
Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, said both Travis and Adam suffered second and third-degree burns. Mullins said Barker’s torso and Adam’s hands and part of his head were burned.

I just saw this on Yahoo’s home page. This is so sad. I hope they can recover. My condolescences go out to the deceased passenger’s families.
i guess i’m the only one thinking about the other four that were inside dying while these two ran around trying to save themselves. i mean, that’s how it sounds at least. i can’t say how i would react in such a situation. i hope i never have to find out.
i will keep them all in my prayers, and pray that travis and DJ AM make it through with a speedy recovery.

Anywho, I’m from Augusta, GA (where the burn center is) and the ppl there are truly a godsend..I know a couple of former classmates who did clinicals there. They work so many miracles on extreme second and/or third-degree burn cases..I’m sure (and praying) that the two of them will have a speedy recovery and R.I.P. to those who lives were lost…
Celebs (or anyone for that matter who is traveling with any luggage or excessive weight besides themselves) do need to stay away from them super small planes though..

And I think is “amusing” that people like Diddy are motified when they have to fly on commerical flights, but as far as I’m concerned that it the way to go! These little charter planes and lear jets go down WAYYYYY to often!

I love Travis (who is also a daddy, so for the sake of his children, I hope he can pull through)–and I hope that both men are able to make full recoveries. Their lives have definitely just been changed.
Its just so sad. As soon as I read this, I had a flashback to Aaliyah. I will definitely keep the in my prayers and to the families that have lost a loved one; everyone was so young. I hope they are able to make it through this.
@nat you have to remember that they were on fire at the time. a witness said he saw them on fire and they were trying to extinguish it. if you’re on fire, you’re not going to think about other ppl. plus they jumped out of the plane so they weren’t completely conscious i’m sure

Travis is a really cute guy..but thats besides the point…I hope he and DJ AM pull through…These last two months have been riddled with celeb deaths…Its kinda hard to stay positive..*sigh* ima pray for them regardless….

i just lost both of my grandmothers but i still can’t imagine what those familys are going though esp chris wife she just has a child and lost him at the same time oh lord why there all in my prayers
My prayers go out to Travis barker && D.J. AM && their families. I was shocked when i heard this. Im a travis fan && when meet the barkers came out i watched that show faithfully. Its weird tho, cuz people are quick to judge someone on their appearance but travis is a sweetheart && i know his kids are his life. This is so hard to digest.
My prayers also qo out to the deceased and their families. Especially Chris Baker (travis’ assistant) because he just qot married && just recently had a new baby.

my God… I have tears in my eyes as Im writing this. I really really like Trav…like he’s probably the only “rocker dude” that I mess with. I’ve liked him since his Blink 182 days back when I was in middle school, 10 yrs ago. I will def keep him and AM in my prayers…and the families of the victims. I know Shanna is going crazy right now…even tho they have their ups and downs, she would kill for him.

I jI just read one comment about they were just trying to save themselves and not the ot others. Are you serious? They were ON FIRE! If they spent the time trying to save someone else, they would be dead as well. How are two people on fire in any position to try to save someone but themselves? I wouldn’t dare to curse myself by saying something like that. I dont ever want to be put in their shoes.
