POLITICAL CANDIDS: OBAMA & MCCAIN / OBAMA & CLINTON / SARAH PALIN / HILARY
Friday, September 12, 2008

Democratic U.S. Presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Republican U.S presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and wife Cindy arrive to visit Ground Zero on the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks Thursday, September 11, in New York City. McCain and Obama visited the World Trade Center area together to pay tribute to the more than 2,700 people killed on September 11, 2001.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Democratic U.S. Presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) acknowledge the crowd after leaving Clinton’s Harlem office September 11, 2008 in New York City.

Republican vice presidential candidate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is welcomed by her daughter Piper at the airport in Fairbanks, Alaska this week.

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton , speaks to New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly on September 11, 2008 backstage during the ceremony marking the 7th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, in New York.
Thousands gathered to dedicate the first September 11 memorial Thursday, observing a moment of silence at the instant seven years ago when an airliner slammed into the Pentagon, killing 184 people and five hijackers. A sailor rang a bell for each of the victims of the attack on the Pentagon, which followed strikes by airliners commandeered by Al-Qaeda suicide squads on the World Trade Center in New York. A fourth hijacked plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

This is about Us and Them. not just in terms of black and white though… I’m talking black and white,inner-city and suburban, rich and poor, male and female, labor and management…. This elcection is so very important because it brings to the forefront all of the political taboos that separate and segragate this country to this very day. As modern as this society is, we are all still very tribal. We congregate with the familiar. I am challenging everyone, to vote their true conscience and to vote the actual issues that are important TO THEM AND GET ALL THE EMOTION OUT OF THE WAY. That being the case, Obama is still my candidate because he speaks to my views and needs as a citizen. I doubt that McCain supporters could honestly say the same if they actually took the time to read his campaign site and platform. Oh yeah, reading requires effort…. when most would rather form their opinions based on Glen Beck soundbytes…ummm nevermind

How I would just like to put my foot up Sarah’s ass!!! I cant stand that woman for the life of me. She makes sick. She didnt even do good of an interview last night with…*I forgot the guy’s name but the interview was terrible. She couldnt answer any of the questions that was being thrown at her. She was sarcastic, defensive and just plain lost. People took the interview as if the guy was being sexist but in actual reality, the broad is dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to the issues that is going in this country and does not know what hell she got herself into. If she cant handle questions that are hardhitting, she really dont need to be sitting in the office. But stupid white women are only voting for her based on her gender and their emotions, not logic. Alaska has the worse crime rate out of all the damn states. Yet people dont know that because they not taking their time to really research what this B*tch has really done. She cant take care of her damn home, she cant take care of Alaska and she most definitely cant take care of this damn country.

The amount of hatred that you have for Sarah only proves, that Obama & his supporters truly feel threatened by her. It means she’s doing her job, lol. Even though you don’t wanna admit to it, you know in the back of your mind that Obama will lose.
Because if you really felt that Obama had a good chance, you wouldn’t waste your time, using this much energy to bash her.
Whether Obama or McCain get elected, either way, our country is doomed.

I hope that you are not say that if We “AS Supporters of McCain” dont identfy with Obama then we can not read or determine what is in Our best intrest. I read very well understand even better. And I don’t agree with too much of anything that Obama says or stands for because his isssue are better yet what he thinks are everybody elses issuse are not the issues affecting me. I have read both campaign sites and platforms. I have to say about the only thing that Obama talks about is the fact that we are both black. And well that not enough for me. I look at the issues as they affect me. at the end of the day what I think need to be better are what will make my life better. I can honestly say McCain seem better to me for me than Obama.

This is what is meant when I say hate is taught and not genetic. What has this mother, wife, christan done to you to deserve your hate. If you dont like her views and she is not what you want VOTE FOR Someone else no need to disrespect her. That were are kids get it from. Oh and is he a Bit*ch because she white are do you usually call people you dont know out their name. Now if I’m not mistaken Detroit was number one and some city in new york was number 10 no were in the middle is there a city in Alaska. The last offical crime report was for 2006. Look it up.

What issues are you supporting? I understand that if you are a republican you cannot vote democratic issues and vice versa, but unless you are in the top 1 % of wealthy Americans, I cannot see someone voting for McCain. If you listen to folks with money they say that they cannot vote for Obama because he is going to raise their taxes, nothing else matters to them. And frankly, I cannot blame them; you have to protect your discretionary income. I would like to hear the issues you are for and against. Just curious.

*Sigh* and Ja,
I’m starting to think you guys are the same person just posing under two different names. This whole week I’ve seen you especially Sigh go into every political blog that J. Dakar puts up and talk about McCain and Palin even when the blog has nothnig to do with them at the time. As I said before, if you support them then that’s on you and it’s fairly your choice, but I no longer feel sorry for you when people lash out things directed to you because I think that’s what you want them to do. This in turn will give you a reason to say “this is why I don’t support Obama, because of his supporters” which to me is a sorry excuse. Now if you don’t agree with his policies then nobody can say anything because that’s how you feel. I think the objective of come on this site and going to the political blogs is merely to start up things. You never come in here and do anything else besides that. I would respect you more if you had come into the blogs telling us why you chose your candidate rather that trying to point out hatred among every person that doesn’t say I like McCain and Palin. If you wanna do that then you can go to TMZ where they call Obama supporters fools, poor people, and a whole host of other things. This is nowhere near hatred so please don’t pull that card on me. I’m just pointing out what I observed a week of being in the political blog and how you do the same thing every political blog which is sit and argue and call us hateful.

Did you guys see the Palin interview yesterday? She was horrible. Either she did not know the meaning of “enunciated” or she is oblivious to what’s going on with this country. I could tell, Charlie was getting frustrated when he started looking at her over the lens of his glasses. Reminded me of how my grandmother used to look at me when she caught me doing something wrong…haha
The republicans coached her for a week because by no means, was this interview impromptu, but they obviously forgot the Bush doctrine. I would like to ask the McLame and “Lipstick on a pig” supporters something. If we are at war in two countries and the VP candidate of your party does not know about a policy that has defined your country and your way of life for nearly a decade, isn’t that worth reconsidering? Are your biases and prejudices that strong that you would rather vote incompetence over competent? Trusting McCain and Palin with this country is like trusting my 3 year old to light the gas stove…just don’t complain when the house burns the fuck down.

I guess you didnt watch the interview last night because if you did, you would know what the hell Im talking about. Sarah stumbled on every topic that was thrown at her. You wanna talk about how Obama is this and that, yet Sarah is the greatest thing since sliced bread. She never addressed any of the issues in her so-called great speech, i.e…Economy, War, Health Care, Social Security, Women’s Rights, Immigration, Minority rights, The freakin Housing crisis, etc… You wanna call Obama out for his every mistake which I admit he is not perfect but when I call Sarah out, its all, “What did she do to you, Why you hate her so much, blah, blah, blah”
I dont hate the woman , I think she is incompetent when it comes to issues. And If I dont freakin like white people, baby I have no problem admitting it. I hate the fact that people cant see through this little game John McCain and his crew is trying to play. Im not stupid. Its obvious that you dont like about and I hate McCain and Palin. I watched my f*ckin Aunt and Uncle lose their home through foreclosure because the damn mortgage kept going up. I watched them not being able to put gas in their freakin car because the gas prices are too high. You want more truth, I barely have anything to eat in my damn house because food prices are too high, My father is scared of losing his job at American Airlines, so are 39,999 other people.. Yes, I saw the interview. And no, me & ‘JA’ are not the same person, lol!
Bush was the biggest idiot, when it came to public speaking, his debating skills, etc., and that idiot still won, 2 terms! LOL, so please spare me all the public speaking rhetoric. Palin, is a Republican, and unlike Democrats they support whoever is on the ticket, especially when the opponent is a black man w/ a Muslim name. And aside from this, she has inspired many women to vote for her. Just like Obama inspired the blacks to vote for him. Everything that’s been said about Palin, other Democrats have said about Obama. Back in May, we knew nothing about Obama’s policies, and he had like 22 debates! Even now, folks still don’t know what the hell he stands for!
The truth of the matter is that McCain will take the White House come January. It’s sad, but true.
BTW, not that I’m trying to discourage anyone from voting (or registering to vote), but back in 2004 Kerry won the popular vote (millions of people came out and voted), and in the end, the electoral college still put Bush back in office. I honestly, don’t believe it matters, if folks do or don’t register..Obama could have like 80 million votes and still lose to the electoral college.

I usually don’t like calling people names so I’ll just call your statement full of ignorance. Anyone who would vote for a candidate with policies that are completely opposite the ones you were interested in, which is Hillary and Obama’s policies (identical), then you truly confused. So I’m guessing your still mad? No I’m not picking on you because you liked Hillary because I actually like both Obama and Hillary and their identical policies, but if Obama didn’t win I surely wasn’t gonna run to McCain because of it.

People fail to realize that Obama.McCain, Clintons are most likely friends or respectable colleagues. These are college educated people who are able to disagree and move on. Like Biden said in his speech, McCain is his friend, although they disagree on many issues, they are friends. Like Hillary said, that she has a picture of the Obama family in her office. I think it’s really sad that the media wants drama so badly, that they cut and slice statements, to get the viewers upset, all the while these politicians are friendly. Too bad this cordial atmosphere won’t last. The slinging mud is so irritating.

I have 4 main issues that determine who I will vote for
Abortion: I am Southern Baptist so I believe that abortion is wrong. But just because I believe that dosen’t mean that the government should start sending people to jail. My problem is that there is na regulation on abortion. You need no special degrees, just general Medical knowledge. No one is making sure that women are not being forced, and yes people are still dying on the table due to abortion. Roe v Wade and Doe v. Bolton as we all should know was decided on on falsehood. Met both women from both case and they are both fighting to have rulings overturn. I dont want a president to think it ok or is indifferent to the idea a 13 year old to walk into to abortion clinic with on requirement from the doctor to ensure her safety or to inform her of the medical risk of having a abortion. Abortion was legal in four states before roe v. wade, so the notion that over turning it will stop abortion is a myth that is cooked up by folks that didnt have a proper civic lesson. What it will allow states to decide and force the medcial community to look at health issues in relation to abortion. like the do breast implants. to be contiuned….

Taxes:
Now lets really look at the issue with taxes. I do not believe that if you make more money than me then you tax to income ratio should be higher than mine. The real problem is not how much you are paying in taxes but who is paying taxes and where money is being spent and until we get that under control than we are always going to come up short. The number of people paying taxes in relation to the number of those who do not are almost equal. Let not talk about those on both side of the income bracket cheating. Did you know that Child Support was taxable income? Case in point property tax pays for school in the area. That local not Federal like most people believe. NCLB pays less than 1% of what goes in to a school district. Not everyone pays property tax but everyone’s kids get to go to school. Now should my property taxes go up because I was able to buy a house. Let talk about Katrina. Section 8 is a federal program funded by the government. If you were on section 8 in NO and you moved to Houston you still were able to get on section 8, in fact you were moved to the top of the list. Now the State of Texas is paying for you to live, but LA is still recieving the same funding for section 8 as if you were still there, as is Texas. I dont make a great deal of money but I take care of my family and I dont think that Bill Gate or Obama pay 10,000 more dollar is going to affect me are my family. But my taxes being raised to pay for sub standard health care will. ( yea I have a whole other issuss with Free Health care)

Universal health care:
Health care in this country is not the best but as I have said on many post I’ve been to a whole lot of countries and I think we are one up on just about everybody. That why Heads of State come to America when they are sick. Sure it cost more but when you are talking about your life come on….
What will Universal health care do to our medical community.
First doctor become doctors to MAKE MONEY. There are a few doctors who do it to help, but plastic surgery was the highest career choice for med students. If being a doctor didnt pay well there would be about 50 people in med school. Now if health care is universal that means the government will pay them. As a government employee I can tell you thats going to be a problem. The government dosen’t hire the best and the brightest they hire the most affordable. And believe it are not if you graduate last you still have earned the title doctor.
The other plan that is so well like is ensuring everyone has health care. We already have that. If you are in a low income family and are under the age of 18 your get health with no co pay. If you work and are low income you get health care with co pay. if you are over 65 you get health care if you qualify for SS. And if you make enough money you need to budget you money to make it fit.
It’s called Medicare, Medicad, Blue chip, and being responsible.

Immigration:
This is 2008 not 1808. We have become a country that takes care of needed. how can we do that if we dont know who is all here. How do we enforce our laws. 9/11 immigation issue. We didn’t know who was here. A survey I read in 2000 during the Bush election said that of all the immigrants question 85 percent say that send money made state side to their home country. They dont spend it here. Now I wonder how that works in relation to Illegal immigrants. If we are buying from other countries, and a large part of our work force is not buy in our econmony how do we create new jobs to employ people. More and more American are move out of the country for work and they are not sending money here. We need to make a system so that money is accounted for. If you live and work here you need to pay taxes are go home bottom line. You can t got to Korea, China, Germany and make money with giving the government their do.

I know Christian black folks who voted for Bush the second time just because of the gay marriage issue, even when they didnt agree with any of his other policies. Its animalistic human nature to vote on emotion, and unfortunately very few people use logic in any circumstance, and politicians are able to exploit that. Also, I dont know if it was you or Ja (your posts are so similar), but you went off on one person for callin Palin out of her name, and then you said that it was ALL Obama supporters. Not all Obama supporters are the same. Thats the thing about being a democrat, we come in all shapes, colors, sizes, sexes, beliefs, dispositions etc, so there are some crazy supporters, and there are some that look at what he stood for and CHOSE to support him.

Lawd “Sigh” do u work or just wait to post ignorant comments all day? All of u that like Pagin have to be some ignorant mofo’ers. Isn’t no way in hell a normal couple would name their son Track and say it’s because they love track and field. Now that is some straight up hillbilly shyt, 4sho. I would have said I named him Track after the famous author Track Jones, anything but that, lmao. Like I will say once more, Obama is for the people, no matter what race, that’s the type of person he is. I think his family speak class in volumes, intelligent hard working wife and mother to his beautiful intelligent daughters. When he get in the white house, I hope and pray Obama and Michele go for baby #3, first one ever born in the White House!!!!!!!!that’s what I’m saying baby……………….peace.

@ Sade
Let talk about the housing issue. First of all it’s not Bush’s fault that home prices went up. Let talk about what nobody wants to talk about. In the mid 90’s Fanny Mae and the urban house progrom( not sure what they were calling it then) came out with these adjustable rates. They say oh this is the chance for a black person to own the home of your dreams, and feed them with bull. What they fell to say is adjustable means subject to change. So instead of saving money for a down payment and getting a smaller house with a fixed rate they go for the gusto. Now everytime a person forcloses the company loses money. Now the smart thing for a company to do to raise adjustable rate to cover lose. Anyone would do it it’s smart. Now when an entire company moves or closes because we buy thing from other countries instead of here. Imagin what that dose to the housing market. Now is Bush suppose make these companies eat the loss. does’t sound right. And people still haven’t learned their lesson this will happen again in another 10 years not matter who president.
And Like I have said I have issues with both McCain and Obama but McCain fits better to ME. I will not call him out of his name are disrepect him because his issues dont line up with mine. That’s just hateful and wrong and what wrong with this country.
American Airlines: has been on it’s way out since 9/11. if cost more to run an airline than before. Things that were once did by people are now being down machines for the cost of yearly maintance vs. a yealy salery. It’s sad but it has happened in nearly every field. This includes health care, farming, computers, and constuction.
Now as far as gas and food. Your on the internet. I know that cost money, maybe you should spend that on food. How bout making a food budget. Not buying snacks and soda and McDonalds. Cook everyday I do. it makes your food budget go far.

@ La Maestra
read the post never said it was ” ALL Obama supporter” hate has nothing to do with political parties. I said thats whats wrong with people. one person’s hate can ruin a whole generation. I dont care who you are or what your reason calling a woman you have never met, no call someones mother whom you have never met a Bit#h is unacceptable. People like that have kids and that hate is passed on. And to assume that because Sigh and I disagree with people here we have to be the same person is silly. Is it that far fectched that two black people disagree with Obama politics. News flash we are not the only two.

That man looks like a corpse. I hope you republicans know that you are voting for Sarah Palin to be president. She can see Russia from Alaska, so she knows a lot about national security.

I don’t hate white people but this election is a joke, the only reason why any body would vote for mccain is because they don’t want to see a black man in office. Palin is a psycho loser. Mccain looks like he has about 2 years left to live, and then we get palin. She doesn’t believe in any thing that makes sense, and she’s a horrible parent.

obama needs to let these swing states know; that for the last two election cycles the road to the white house came though ohio and penn. and for the last 8 yrs what has it gotten them two states? nothing but heartache and misery. 95% of the white male vote is for mccain and now that he’s added palin aka karla rove to the mccain ticket, now women are stepping out like they have been in a damn cave all this long. shit ladies don’t mean to piss you off but give me a f’n break . you are miles ahead of the black male. and more power to you. ya asses have been out the cave for decades so don’t trip. also hillary i feel didn’t want to run second fiddle to barack or no one. so all those who whine about how he should of picked hillary check that shit. hillary should come out and fess up about this herself. hell he had to run against hillary, bill, bush admin, and karla rove, fox hypocrite news, w/ the bubble-headed beach blondes, right wing radio. damn swiftboaters who are trying to get into his head like they did “harold ford jr”. trying to get him to snap. BUT IT AIN’T WORK’N. he’s bigger than that.

well i don’t really care if mccain is old or he does not know how to use the computer that does not really matter to me. I actually do agree with some of his issues he has raised. But what is changing my mind from mccain is that he has now become someone that is grossly unethical and that speaks volumes. It cannot be that you are saying you are going to deal with the corruption in the whitehouse and in the same breath you are making up unneccessary lies its appalling and for that he has lost my respect. i have a very low tolerance for unethical behavoir it totally disgusts me.

If anyone dosen’t think their taxes won’t be raised no matter who is in office is a got dayum fool.
Politics is fucking politics dummies. they will say any and everything to get elected.
McCain—for someone who hailed himself as being respectable and putting country first did exactly the opposite when he chose Palin. Of all the other experienced Republican women in politics with vast foreign policy experience, he goes and picks some dolt who don’t know shit about foreign policy and think that just because Alaska is beside Russia, then that qualifies. Not to mention who has her own fair share of corrupt and scandal shit going on in Alaska. A fool who actually linked Iraq to 9/11. Would be ready to go to war in a minute—-said Russia attacked Georgia attacked unprovoked, along with all the other fucked up answers she gave, yet people feel this broad is more than capable to be a VP. shit even condoleeza don’t like her ass.
Those “hillary supporters/feminist” who are still bitter, can stay bitter till it kills them. its only a small handful of yall that are actually still on the bitter train, and yall can stay there for all anyone cares. and to be spiteful and vote for mccain just because–majority of yall were only voting on the premises that she is a woman. thats the main thing that resonates with yall—-all that other shit like her platform and such is seconday and really don’t matter much. Those true hillary supporters eventually got over their bitterness and knows how important that a democrat must be in the white house and has thrown their support towards their party.
Republicans stay devoted to their party (most of them) even if they don’t like or agree with their candidates and thats why they always win—and not to mention they also use dirty tactics to help too. But sometimes that just don’t work. Barack will win come november and will win a 2nd term to bat.
Barack has a substantial lead on the electorial map and as long as he keeps that, he’ll be giving his inaguaration speech in January.
PEACE!

Mixed Chick,
“Yes I’m still mad about it” is all you had to say to prove my assumption. Thank you.
Can you tell me exactly how is John McCain more qualified, more experienced, well suited, and ready to be president. These were the words you chose.
