POLITICS: ‘OBAMA, YOU GOT ME’

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Super producer Jermaine Dupri admits “I’ve always been the guy who found politics boring, and I haven’t trusted anyone in Washington to do anything for me for a long while. It had no relevance to me…

But something got the hit maker fired up last week. “It got me so inspired I feel like I’m 19 years old and ready to take on the world again. It was Barack Obama’s convention speech.”

In his latest blog on the Huffington Post, JD explains:

“Obama’s words gave me an energy I haven’t felt since I got started in the music business, when I believed anything was possible. That’s a powerful thing.

Obama’s movement is about us, and what we can do to shake things up. He delivers the drive in people to want to do things that make change. That’s why older people who’ve held their spot forever — the John McCains and Jesse Jacksons of this world — find him a threat. They have to fuss about the small stuff that has no relevance to the big picture of our future because they got nothin’!”

Be sure to check this out in its entirety.

JD I agree with you, last night I heard nothing about the issues at hand all I heard was Barack bashing. When I heard Barack speak I felt like he did a great job explaing his plan for america and made sure everyone understood it.

President Obama (that sounds nice) has me fired up as well. I have never felt this strong about a candidate in all my years of voting. I really feel that he will turn America around and get us out of the terrible position that most of us are in !
The way The First Lady Obama look at him with deep and powerful love is how I feel about what he is going to do for all of us ! ! ! Deep and powerful positive change ! ! !
Yes We Can ! Obama Yall !

No ! Not ! Never ! NO Way ! NO How ! NO McCain !

When I watch the RNC, I don’t see anyone like me. I see mainly the white and the old delegates and I don’t mean that in a bad way, but there just isnt a face for me there. When I watched the DNC I seen white, black, latino, Arab, young, old..there was THE REAL AMERICA at that convention…

and even though no one really cares who celebrities are voting for. I must say I hate it when celebrities don’t show there support towards something so if this is JD’s way of being an influence in something that inspires him then I can’t knock that

Why do people have the need to bash Jesse Jackson? I don’t get it? He marched with Martin and talk to Malcolm… I mean when there was no Obama or any other leader we look to Jesse, now we’re like F*ck you… and Jesse doesn’t make things about color he argues about justice for all…same with Al Sharpton (in a sense) There are something’s that are black and white and some that are color blind…

Can someone please explain to me why people disrespect Jesse Jackson so much?

Chi Town’s FINEST!!!!

Obama is the realer. But on a serious tip, Obama made himself known as a man for the cause of bettering the lives of people long before he became senator. That’s why to me he’s amazing. He always had kind and motivational words to say and you can feel his goodness in his presence. God is with him.
