SPOTTED: YOUNG JEEZY VOTER REGISTRATION
Wednesday, September 10, 2008

To celebrate the release of his highly anticipated third album, The Recession, Young Jeezy recently put on for his city with a show-stopping live band performance at The Tabernacle and a jam-packed party at the exclusive Velvet Room in Atlanta.
The multi-platinum star also held a voter registration at Justin’s restaurant where he registered and encouraged others from his home state to do the same.

@ #4 This will be my first time voting in an election not because I have chosen not to in the past but because I’m finally of age to do so. Even if McCain does win *Knocks on a damn tree* I’m going to know that it wasn’t my vote that could’ve kept Obama from the White House. I’m registered to vote and I’m waiting to deal w/ this absentee ballot. I’m serious about this.

If everyone goes out and vote for change, Obama will win. Just look at the issues of both sides and seriously condsider registering to vote for change now and then actually voting for change in November. Pessimism has been around since Martin Luther King had his dream, but thank God people actually did what was necessary to bring the dream to life. The change is coming…

@ #13- Wow, that was kind of rude. So no- one outside the US is allowed to route for a presidential candidate because “no one cares about them”? OK then. As they saying goes, “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”, like it or not, America has a big influence on the world, which therefore affects people all over the world.
I swear some (yes some not all) of you Americans are too self- obsessed. SMH it’s sad that black folks outside the US cannot voice their opinion on a historic situation like this.

#13 JLINZ,
That is a very ignorant statement. Have you ever taken Foreign Policy or even heard of it for that matter?
As globalization increases it is vital that the US maintains good relations with other countries. Becoming isolated from the rest of the world is not what we need right now especially when our economy is in the state that it is. While it is true that Americans are responsible for who becomes president, what other countries think about our leader plays an important role in our interconnectedness with the rest of the world.
So you might want to care what other countries think.
Although this may be PR for Jeezy, lets not forget that rappers are a big influence on a lot of people and this will get a lot of young people to the booths
@ 20 It’s available at Urban Outfitters.

I think it’s bullsh*t that felons can’t vote. They are still US citizens, and are affected by presidency. Just think what the election would be like if felons could vote, and you know they WOULD vote, especially the ones that are presently locked up ’cause they aint got nothin’ but time on their hands. Obama would win hands down! He should definately look into making that change.

Judas, if you want to see what is wrong with the black man today, look in the mirror or read your own comments. You are the epitome of a weak minded self hating Negro. You cannot defeat the white man so you resort “racial cannibalism” – feeding on your own. Yes, I was raised by a single mother and she did a wonderful job, might I add. She raised two children as a single parent. My younger sister is Registered Nurse working at one of the most prominent hospitals in NYC and she is also back in school studying to become a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. As for me, I am a very successful CPA working for one the top hedge funds in CT. And yes, I served honorably in not one but two branches of the United State Armed Forces – Navy and Army. Saw combat in both Kosovo and the early parts of Iraqi Freedom under the Clinton and W. Bush administration respectively. And no I do not belong to any gangs but I am thinking about forming one. I might call it AUTOS (Annihilate Uncle Toms on Sight)…lol. Just joking, dude!!!!
There is a famous quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Our scientific influence have far exceeded our spiritual influence, we have guided missile and misguided men.” You are obviously one of the few misguided black man in this country who leans on his own misunderstanding. You will not fight for yourself or your own but you will fight for the white man harder than he will fight for himself and that makes you are very dangerous coward. But all is not lost! When the revolution starts we might find use for you….use you as decoy to soften some blows or something…lol.

When I’m moderated my comments never get posted. It’s actually annoying, and it defeats the purpose if you guys don’t actually read them.

Unfortunately as an alleged black “male”, you haven’t learned how to simply agree to disagree. When you learn how to be a man and express yourself as a man, maybe your commentary will come through. You remind me of one of these women that obsesses over a man that they don’t even know. You know nothing about this man Obama, other than what has been shown on television. Honestly speaking, too many brothers have become brute beasts in this society.

It does matter what the world thinks. Remember the rebate checks? China had a lot to do with that. This country owese everyone money. Who wants to do business with a country that makes a bunch of stupid descisions?
A personal of color/minority would propably respond better to another minority versus a crazy alaskan pitbull and some pasty old ball of dried play-doh.

I hope everyone registers. Actions speak louder than words and we have to make sure McCain/ Palin don’t get in the whitehouse because everyone making under a million dollars will not make it in the U.S. McCain has already stated that the average american should gross about a million. I guess it’s easy to say that when you marry into someone else’s wealthy family.

I usually like to read your comments and decipher them, but now I’m starting to think that you are the type that likes to have fun playing devil’s advocate. The thing I don’t respect is how you undermine people in the political blogs who are giving an opinion. Personally unless you sleep in the same bed as either one of these candidates then you really don’t know either of them outside their policies, personal research, and the media, so why do you question only Obama so much and say he’s not the person that he is? Have you had a bad run in with him personally or something?

@I’m Gonna Give You the Truth
Sis, let’s be real, the issue is that I have my opinion and other people have theirs. Black people have made a humongous emotional investment in this man and it is indicative of how hopeless our people are and how low they feel. Due to the fact that the black community is destroyed and is dominated by a feminine mentality; most people, including and especially so-called black “men”, do not know how to justify their beliefs. Thusly our people throw tantrums and levy accusations that they cannot qualify. The scripture tells us to prove all things. As a man of the Lord, I probably view things different from you or anyone who puts their trusts in man. Black people don’t know how to build and honestly, I don’t take the opinion of most of them seriously.
Even fool who has just moderately studied the elite and how they run their operation know that a politician cannot even get on television unless he or she is evil as hell, no matter the color. I saw black people dance this jig in 2000 with Al Gore, again in ‘04 with Kerry, and now with Obama. The reason why I cannot and will not ignore it is because the obtuse and ignorant are the ones steering the black community. They are not a minority. Look at this buffoon Sean Combs. He shouldn’t even be allowed to vote, much less encourage others to do so. I honestly believe that these clownish rappers are being used to spearhead the voting registration of black people so that when the draft is brought back before the invasion of Iran, they will have a good list of black men and women to select.

I’m gonna break my rule about using the word, hater. For all the haters talking about McCain and Palin, no they can’t win. Look, even with the excitement surrounding Palin, the electoral votes (the winning votes) are still tied. So, with the excitement of the base, and the excited women, he’s only tied with Obama.
YEAH WE CAN..YEAH WE WILL

I AM AN INDEPENDENT AND I’M NOT GOING TO VOTE. NEITHER OF THE CANDIDATES IMPRESS ME IN ANYWAY. MCCAIN LIES ALL THE TIME AND OBAMA IS AMAZINGLY FAKE TO ME..BUT THAT’S HOW I FEEL. MY ATTITUDE TOWARDS THESE TWO FLUCTUATES A LOT BUT NO, I DON’T SEE ANY SORT OF REALNESS IN EITHER OF THEM. PRESZ BUSH COULD BE THE PRESZ FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS FOR ALL I CARE, HE’S DOING NOTHING TO AFFECT ME SO….I’M NOT SAYING IT AS IN I DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT IT’S WHATEVER.
AND FOR THOSE OF YOU SAYING HOW IF MCCAIN WINS THE RICH WILL CONTINUE TO GET RICHER AND THE POOR POORER.. AND?? I HAVE MONEY, MAKING GOOD MONEY AND I DIDN’T GO TO COLLEGE AND WORK MY ASS OFF FOR OBEEMA TO TAX ME MORE. IF THE POOR WANTS TO GET RICH THEN THEY CAN GO TO SCHOOL….NO ONE IS TELLING THEM TO SKIP SCHOOL AND SMOKE DOPE ON THE SIDE. I DIDN’T GROW UP IN A WHEALTHY FAMILY AND I’M HELLA HEALTHY NOW SO IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN THEY. BUT IF OBAMA WINS HE’S JUST GOING TO BE POURING MONEY ON Y’ALL POOR PEOPLE SO Y’ALL LAZY ASSES WONT HAVE TO WORK..PUHLEASE. NO WONDER ALL THESE BLACK PPL WANT HIM TO WIN SO BADLY. OBAMA GETS A HUGE LIGHTED UP MATALIC NEXT, FROM ME.
MCCAIN IS OLD AS HELL. AND THAT JUST WRAPS EVERYTHING UP. HE PROBABLY HAS ALZHEIMER’S AND WHO WOULD WANT A PRESZ THAT CANT REMEMBER SHIT..AND I CAN’T SEE SARAH PALIN DOING ANYTHING FOR THIS COUNTRY..THE WHOLE MCCAIN TEAM ARE LIARS THEY GET A NEXT FROM ME TOO.

When I first heard he registered, my eyebrows raised? With all that talk about Mr. 17.5 you mean he never caught a case, not even gun possession? Not saying I wish that on him and kudos to his rights, but I’m confused. What trapper doesn’t have a wrap sheet? Oh I forgot, only trappers who are rappers avoided wrap sheets (i.e., Rick Ross).
Instead of Censor stickers they should come up with a different symbol to identify that what these people talk about is not at all what they do in real life.
