I can see glasses becoming a huge trend this season (and not just because of Sarah Palin). With vintage frames already back in full swing, celebrities are realizing that glasses can be just as stylish as perceived geeky. Recently folks like Kanye West, Rihanna, Pharrell, and Erykah Badu have been casually rocking funky/vintage clear lens.
I’ve always loved to wear glasses myself – not because I had to, but because they also serve as great accessory for the face and there a millions of options to just from. Just check out a few cool frames I found right online…

Well considering the fact that I am someone who has to wear glasses, I wouldn’t really consider this to be a trend. Just because celebs are rocking something that has been around forever doesn’t make it cool or more appealing to me.

Glasses are definately whasup…on some people. Erykah, Pharell and Rhianna’s glasses looks nice and stylish on them. Of course, you have to incorporate your current hairstyle to match up with the frames, thus causing a stylish look. I HATE Kanye’s frames-they aren’t stylish, and his hairstyle just isn’t right! He looks nerdy.

@ MS CHEEKS..I had a friend that had the lasik eye surgery. She said that her eyes were sore for the next couple of days (after the procedure). However, a couple of months later, her vision was failing again and she paid for the surgery all over again!!!
you should put Travis McCoy up there.. he wears the geek glass perfectly! That being said, as lifelong glasses-wearer and new suscriber of contacts, I think I’ll PASS on this trend. Pharrell’s the only decent looking one up there.

To a person who actually wears glasses, this sounds stupid. I remember when I was a kid ,I didn’t even want the dumb glasses and I needed them, but now people who don’t need glasses wear them w/o the lenses to look cute?
@3….I know 7 people that have had the surgery done and all have given rave reviews. I do believe it depends on how bad your eyesight is to determine if the surgery is right for you or not…but I’d definitely look into it…I’m actually thinking about it myself. I’ve been told that your eyes feel a little scratchy the first few days like you have something in them…but once that initial process is over I haven’t heard any people I know complain about their eyesight…so Good Luck!!

I wear glasses approx 65% of the time, i find males are most attracted when i have them on my face. they tell me i am a sexy geek chick or i look sexy and studious…hahahaha, whateva!!!! But yea, glassses are very kewl to rock especially when you are interviewing, attending classes or just want to add a professional touch to your appearance. anyhoo i like rhianna’s the best and next erykah’s!!!!!

I was wearing clear “personality” glasses as I call them early last year. I noticed this summer a lot of people started wearing them so I put all of mine to rest. I like the fact that they made me look intelligent, plus I got more attention from females. I’ll start wearing them again when everyone is over them.

Oh, how old is this trend??!! It’s funny how fashion comes and goes, and comes and goes in cycles. We already did this in the ’90′s. We called them “personality glasses”.

Yeah, I wear glasses (well, contacts) and I think it’s sooo stupid for people to wear them that don’t have to! #3, if my eyes get worse, my eye doctor has suggested Lasik, so I guess I kinda don’t have a choice. The people I’ve heard that have gotten it have been satisfied. Also, if you wear prescription glasses, you can’t switch out the frames as often as these ‘trend’ people do because it’s costly for frames PLUS prescription lenses.
