I think there are some redeeming qualities in Lisa Raye. Why are we so harsh and unforgiving on our folk. Hard enough for black actors and actresses as it is without us adding to it. That guy from Turks and Caicos pursued her and he did not have a gun to his head when he asked her to marry HIM. Why do we, black women especially, keep maintaining the stereotype that black women that marry wealthy men are gold diggers? This self inflicting demonization is the reason why wealthy black men willl go to women outside their race to find a wife because of our jealous ladden sterotypes that have affected black women as a whole. And then we will have the nerve to complain about it when they do but hate and attack black on black marriage/relationship with disparaging the black wife/girlfriend when they do. That just shows how ridiculously stupid and self hating many of us are.
if a man does get a gold diggin woman, many times its what he wanted or else he would not have flaunted and used his wealth to influence her to date him in the first place. How many times have you been approached by a man that engages in name and title dropping. I ‘m a doctor, lawyer, a pro ball player, etc. to get a girl. It natural for a woman to be attracted to a man that is a provider and its cool if he’s not, but still natural. Men do what they want to do and date who they want to date and get down on one knee to who they choose. No one is making them or forcing them to do so. Ultimately he becomes the chooser. You are more likely to marry someone in your circle, whether that be at work, a social circle( clubs you both frequent, etc) and stars are no different.
Why are we so concerned about clothes and material things. From what I hear she has a really nice cd about to drop and the only thing people can committ on are her clothes. I am sure she could buy anything she wanted to. She is not poor by no means. It is the people with the least amount that tries to buy all the stuff they can’t afford. That is why we have an economic crisis in this country. Atleast part of it. I for one think it is just silly. Judge on music and cut all that other crapt out. That is why we have all of this junk out now.
