Why does everyone always say that Tyler’s movies are stereotypical? He may not be the most prolific writer but there are plenty of black people out there that behave exactly the way Tyler depicts them. Most stereotypes are rooted in some truth. White writers and directors have been inaccurately representing black people for decades now. At least Tyler has experience with black people.

As far as his work hurting other black screenwriters, that is BS. Tyler’s scripts were passed over by most mainstream studios which is why he did it his own way. Most mainstream studios reject black scripts of ALL kinds and don’t give a damn about what black people think.

This is why Tyler’s success benefits ALL blacks in the industry. Once you have an alternative to the mainstream, folks start paying attention.

If you are truly talented and work hard you will make it, regardless of how “stereotypical” Perry’s movies may be.

Judah, there are plenty of people who believe that homosexuality is a sin. Just because they’re not bashing someone, doesn’t mean that they don’t denounce the sin. There is a way to denounce the sin without being nasty about it.The bible says we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one.
Followers of Christ are to be loving and should let their light shine so that people who may be living in sin and who do not believe in Jesus will ask you of the light and hope that is in you. Then, maybe you can witness to that person. Have u ever taken anything before that wasnt yours? Have u ever lusted for someone of the opposite sex while being married? Or are u having sex before marriage?
