Check out these new flicks of Beyonce in the November issue of Essence magazine, which she covers. The singer opened up about her relationship & marriage to Jay-Z – with details on the private wedding ceremony and explaining the matching tattoos they have on their fingers….
Beyoncé tells the magazine that the wedding was very small and intimate, because she’s not a “traditional” woman and having it be “her day” wasn’t something she needed. Being a star and walking the red carpet has diminished the need for that over the years. “It’s been my day so many days already,” she told the magazine.
She didn’t want an engagement ring because “people put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me,” she said.
Instead of just getting wedding rings, the couple also got matching tattoos of the Roman numeral four on their ring fingers, so if they take off the bands for work or to go swimming, a mark of some form is still there. (The number four is special to the couple because her birthday is September 4, his birthday is December 4, and their wedding anniversary is April 4.) SOURCE
On maintaining privacy on her and Jay’s relationship:
“I feel that, especially now, with the Internet and paparazzi and camera phones, it’s so difficult to maintain mystery,” she told the magazine. “And that’s so important. Even in a relationship, I feel like not being that accessible is really important. If you think about Prince or Michael Jackson, or any superstars, you couldn’t see them when they got off their planes or when they got out of the pool and didn’t comb their hair. It’s great that people see we’re not perfect. But it’s almost impossible to have superstars now, because people will never get enough. And it’s not even about my music. It’s about all the things that people imagine about me in their minds. But I can’t satisfy everyone. I know that Jay and I probably do inspire people. And I appreciate people feeling proud. But this is the only way I’ve been able to stay sane, so why would I start talking now?

I heard both of Beyonce’s song,and she’s going to have to do better. They are horrible. You all will support anything Beyonce put out. Her songs are targeting 21 years old and younger. It’s no way a grown woman could get into anyone of those songs. Now, her first cd was on point. That was and will always be her best project. I could relate to me myself and i and many more. Beyonce has fallen off a whole lot. It seems to me that every artists could put out bad songs except for Beyonce when we know they aren’t good. If she puts out a bad song and people comment on them, people are hating on Beyonce. Come on. This time Beyonce has put out two bad songs and her die hard fans knows neither songs have nothing different or creative to them. BORING!!!!!!!

I could pull up 1000 pictures and videos from her past where she wore black and Rihanna wasn’t even thought about then. I have nothing against Rihanna but please we all know everything she is doing or will do has been done so many times before. Bey is promoting her album so she is entitled to do whatever she needs to just like any other artist who is promoting an album. Also these are some of her first interviews since being married so when else would she have talked about her marriage. Well I have a subscription to Essence which I won’t renew. It will be interesting to see how much insight she gives us into her artistry.
I think she is correct about the too much empahsis on ENGAGEMENT rings etc…However, I think the TATTOO finger thing is “tacky” regardless what it means to them. (didn’t Pamela Anderson do the same thing and a few other Celebs)…tacky, but good for her, she has plenty of money…& if it comes to her ever wanting it removed for any reason at all she can always have that done right LOL!!
