Brandy’s comeback album, Human, originally slated for release on November 11th has been pushed back to December 9th. People have rumored that this is due to the fact that Timbaland wants to add some of his finishing touches to the album, but most are under the impression that the single, “Right Here (Departed)” has not been performing on the charts as well as it should.
I think they’ve made the right decision. It’ll give them time to put out a second single (“Long Distance”), as well as allow people to realize that the video is, after all, #1 on BET’s 106 & Park.
T.I. MAKES HISTORY
T.I. made history this week after the release of his sixth solo album, Paper Trail. After debuting at #1 on the Billboard charts, selling 568,000 copies in its first week, T.I.
This marks T.I.’s third consecutive #1 debut on the charts, as well as his best first-week sales of his career. T.I. is responsible for the biggest sales week for Atlantic Records in the history of the label.
The Atlanta-bred rapper have the #1 album in the U.S., he also has the #1 single. “Live Your Life,” featuring pop princess Rihanna jumps from 80-1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track sold 335,000 downloads this week in the U.S.

GINUWINE INKS NEW DEAL
Ginuwine is prepping his new album to release first quarter of 2009 and has inked a deal with Notifi Records with distribution on Warner Bros. Music. This will be Ginuwine’s follow-up record to 2005′s Back II Da Basics, as well as his greatest hits album that dropped in May of 2007.
Ira Dewitt, CEO of Notifi comments on the signing:
“Notifi Records is proud to be working with such a well respected artist and look forward to the creative direction this project is headed. Our current plans include having a single out this October and an album released by quarter one of 2009. We are lining up top producers and tracks as we speak.”
I haven’t been a Ginuwine fan since he stopped working with Timbaland after his The Life album, but I’d like to see what cards he’s going to play in order to stay relevant in this day in age. Will Ginuwine try to hop on this pop train, or will he stick to his R&B roots?
TONI BRAXTON PREPS COMEBACK
Toni Braxton, who can most recently be seen on Dancing With the Stars. After being released from her contract and performing dates in Las Vegas, and medical problems, Toni has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records and has decided to shed a little light on her upcoming project, a follow-up to the highly underrated 2005 release, Libra.
The new album is set to drop at the top of 2009, and Toni has revealed that the single, which will be impacting radio sometime next month, will be produced by none other than Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins.
I’m interested to see what the two are going to come up! Toni has worked with Darkchild previously (remember “He Wasn’t Man Enough?” from her album The Heat?) so I’m sure they’ll have some chemistry to rekindle. Rodney has been getting a lot of work lately, too. I’m hoping that this album is good, because I really am a Toni fan. Let’s hope she can keep up!
Brandy should also push back her album to avoid being slaughtered in sales by Beyonce. . .
Now we don’t want that!

I haven’t heard much about Beyonce single since the day she put out it in fact the DJ’s on the urban stations said it was garbage. However, I do hear alot about Brittney’s cd which I like her one single better than Beyawnce’s. Now, this post is a good one. I can’t wait to get Brandy’s CD. Toni is coming back Ginuwine is coming back. That’s what’s up. TI i love the cd and my favorite is LiveurLife. Rihanna seems to be at the top spot alot alone and in collaborations. I think her and TI make good music together.
I’d like to hear new music from Ginuwine, but I’m not so sure about Miss Toni. She passed her musical prime a while ago. Hopefully the DWTS exposure will help her sales.

Dang, I’m disappoint in the push back of Brandy Album…. #1 who cares about Beyonce, believe it or not, Brandy has a fan base that waiting on her album…. Some care about album sales, but just because you have good ablum sales, dont make the album have substance… Beyonce albums are nice to dance too, but normally, does she really have substance…. Most of her song dont! Dont get me wrong, Beyonce is a hell of performer, but those two shouldnt be compared.. They are in different games… NE ways, I waiting on Brandy and haters will learn to respect (KHIA style lol) her…. I’m actually excited about most the projects in this post (Brandy, Toni, and Ginuwine). I disagree about Ginuwine. The Senior is a very good album, and that’s after he parted ways with Timbaland. With the right production he’ll be fine. He doesn’t need Timb to get success. All of his albums have been platinum, except for Back II Basics which I admit wasn’t good anyway. I’m confident Ms. Toni’s CD will be hot. All of her albums are good IMO, and Libra is an excellent album, that I still listen to this day. It just didn’t get the right promo it should have gotten. Her label (at the time) were seriously slacking off only releasing 1 single and video off of the album. I’m hoping Ginuwine will stick with his R&B roots as well as Toni. I’m tired of hearing the saturation of pop &B. I don’t mind hearing it from some, but to hear it from veterans in the game would be annoying and disappointing. I hope Toni and Ginuwine will stay doing real R&B and please don’t do anything techno or autotune. That sound is playing itself out. Too many people are on that bandwagon already.

Toni is so underrated that it’s insane. I just don’t understand why someone with the genuine talent that she has, career would be so down in the dumps. It’s been steadliy climbing the R&B charts, currently at 23. **Like someone said, she is definately getting her love from the R&B market, but I **think it will pick up in the pop/mainstream market. It’s been on the Hot 100 for 3 **weeks, so pushing the album back is not a bad idea (although I was looking **forward to it) this will definitely allow the single to bring about more buzz for the **album. Cuz I don’t care what anyone says the song is the bizness, Brandy out **sangin all these chicks on that track. Don’t no one in the game got “runs” like **Brandy. Looking forward to the new single to, “Long Distance,” never hurts to ***drop two singles before the album drops, a little something for everyone.
T.I.’s album is my second favorite of the year so far, after Nas of course. That Nas CD is brilliant I don’t care how it sold. It’s the kind of record that you used to sit around and talk about and analyze…do college kids still even do that? Or are they just shaking that ass to the likes of Li’l Wayne? I liked more of the Wayne album than I thought I would but he’s weak lyrically…if you care about content.
I’m happy to see Ginuwine and Toni back, but don’t know if they can compete in this market. Both of their last albums were underappreciated and underpromoted. Okay….i know you love the hell out of Rihanna and all, and i think she’s pretty awesome too, but this whole “pop princess” title you keep trying to give her isn’t sufficient. She hardly has sold half, OF HALF, as many albums as Britney has sold for you to be giving other, less worthy chicks her title.
