Musiq Soulchild reveals the cover for his new album, OnMyRadio, which is slated to hit stores December 9th, which seems to be the day that everyone is dropping (Keri Hilson, Brandy, etc.). Musiq recently released a new video for his new single featuring Mary J. Blige, “IfULeave.”
THE DREAM PREPS NEW ALBUM
Writer/producer, The Dream is working on his second album, the follow-up to 2007′s Love/Hate. The album, titled Love vs. Money is slated to release December 16th.
The Dream has reteamed with producer Los Da Maestro (J. Holiday’s “Bed”), who helmed most of the tracks on Love/Hate, and partner Tricky Stewart, who produced most of the tracks on the forthcoming set, while also working with the likes of Lil’ Jon.
“In the beginning I was just having fun. I didn’t want people thinking too hard, I just wanted them to gravitate toward my lyrics,” the-Dream tells Billboard.com. “But this time my vocals are different. I’ve definitely grown in my singing.”
Although a single hasn’t be confirmed yet, confirmed tracks include the ’60s-inspired “You Aint Sh*t,” “Fancy,” about a girl who wants to live the glamorous life, rhythmic/pop track “Right Side of My Brain,” “Make Love to Me,” which he describes as a “good ol’ baby-making record,” “Booty,” and “Kelly’s 12 Play,” inspired by R. Kelly’s debut album. Mariah Carey has a guest spot on “My Love.”
As well as his album, The Dream is working with his new girl group Electrik Red, who will release their album via Radio Killa Records/Def Jam.
CASSIE’S STILL AT WORK
Our good friends at Rap-Up.com reported today that Cassie is in the studio with none other than Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who has been busy working with the likes of Beyonce, Ciara and his muse, Brandy. The album, which was schedule to release earlier this year, was pushed back to the top of next year, and now will release in spring of ’09.
Apparently, Cassie made her way to Miami to cut the uptempo track with Williams.
“It’s a crazy record that he wrote. It’s incredible! It’s my first record with him,” the 22-year-old tells Rap-Up.com.
Cassie also mentioned that she’s recorded a few tracks with Rodney; “some slow, some uptempo, some mid.” The album has yet to be titled, but rumors circulated online that Cassie is titling the sophomore set Connecticut Fever. But she assures us that it won’t be the working title for the album:
“I don’t know why people do this to me,” she laughs, while adding, “I’m actually very close to a title. I’m trying to make sure that everybody likes it.”
In addition to working with Pharrell and Darkchild, Cassie’s new album will also have productions from Danja, Bryan-Michael Cox, Mario Winans, Kanye West, The Dream and Tricky Stewart and of course, Ryan Leslie. Cassie expects to wrap on the project sometime before Thanksgiving.

I like Cassie, and i like one of the songs Brian showcased on here. I wish her the best of luck with her cd, and if i like more than 3 songs, i’m buying the cd. She don’t sing like she’s taking us to church, but she’s got a cute voice and it’s unique enough to sell music. Hopefully by now she’s conquered her stage jitters.
And Musiq’s cd is one i’m definitely getting. Love the song with him and Mary J.
i can not wait for musiq, i love him… and john legend has his cd coming out next tuesday, i want to be first in line for that…
