RIHANNA SPEAKS ON NEW ALBUM

Looks like Little Miss Sunshine, pop princess Rihanna is in the studio recording her forthcoming untitled 4th album. Even though she didn’t give us much information about producers, and writers, Rihanna mentioned that she will be writing 3 tracks of the album herself and that they are quite different from her previous work.
“I’m currently working on record number four and I’m having so much fun. I’m having so many new experiences and meeting so many new people, it’s amazing.”
She also stated that one of the tracks will fit into the punk-rock category and studying for a new and more even hot look. A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but it’s probably that it will came out in early 2009
“I want this album to head in the same direction as Good Girl Gone Bad but with even more edge. The tracks will be less R&B influenced and will have a feel closer to that of ‘Disturbia,’ ‘Shut Up & Drive’ and ‘Breakin’ Dishes’.”
We’ll see, RiRi! I’m just kinda thrown because I thought Fefe Dobson was doing this on Def Jam before Rihanna was…
JANET CANCELS MORE SHOWS
More fans will be disgruntled to hear that pop icon Janet Jackson has postponed three more dates for her Rock Witchu tour due to her illness.
A rep for the singer said that Janet was in Greensboro, NC on Saturday where she had planned to perform until a local doctor advised her not to as it was “evident” that she had not fully recovered. Some say that it was dehydration, while blogs are sold on the rumor that Janet is pregnant.
Saturday’s show in Greensboro, Sunday’s Atlanta date, and the Tuesday concert in Fort Lauderdale, FL have all been postponed. This is in addition to three previously missed shows in Montreal, Boston, and Philadelphia.
It’s a shame that Janet has missed six shows already, especially since the reviews on the concert have been so good. Fans have probably really been bummed that she’s missing these shows. Refunds have been available, but I can only imagine for a true Janet fan the disappointment of the shows having to be postponed.

you all need to realize that the reason rihanna came out with music of the sun and the reggae influence is because she was from Barbados. People automatically assumed that when you are from the islands you should be in the genre of reggae music, or soca. Hence the record label concentrating on making her first album represent her island roots. Maybe the girl really wanted to go in another direction. Not because you are from the islands mean you have to be pigeon holed into one type or style of music. I doubt she has forgotten where she is from. Sometimes she still collaborate with some of the reggae artists but those songs are not being played in the US market just in the islands. To be an artist that succeeds, you have to reach a wide audience. She has succeeded in doing so with the type of music she is putting out now. The girl is in control of her future and she should decide which direction or path she wishes to take. I for one wish her the best .
for alena, you must be white, because britney spears wouldn’t have a career if she didn’t bite from janet, the choreography, the music all replicate janet….and she’s so freaked out on drugs…thats her publicity right, there she has a horribly engineered voice on record….she lost her kids, been in rehab…have u heard any of this from rihanna?….think before you comment…..britney is trailer park trash….is that where u live too?
It’s funny that people are deciding not to see this movie just because Beyonce is in it. That’s some strong hate dude. I mean the movie has been the talk for awhile now it’s not just her Gabrielle Union, Cedric The Entertainer, Mos Def, Adrien Brody… I mean a bunch of great artists are gonna be in it. Don’t be childish yall. Help CELEBRATE black music as it gets its fair publicity with the recent boom of “motown-esque” biopics.
Janet really gave a great show in Los Angeles September 17th at the Staples Center. And it was a very packed show. She still has it … I wish her a speedy recovery so she can share her talent with her fans once again. I know she works hard and it can be a lot of stress on the body. Its even harder as you get older.
As for Ri Ri, I hope she does well. I’m glad she is going to pen some of her own material. I know its not a lot, but its a start in show her confidence as a song writer.
As for Cadillac Records, seems like it may cool. Hopefully the screenplay is very well written.Seems like a good cast.
First off Rihanna and Beyonce are 2 different types of artist.. I like Rihanna and Beyonce..
Rihanna is sorta unique she is not going to go too rock because she may lose her fan base i believe her next album will be pop with a little rock influence.. I feel she is just in the business to make hits not really express total creativity.. But what she is doing is making her money so she better use this bad girl image up before ppl get tired of it and move on to the next star..
Beyonce is not unique but she is a great performer and mediocore actress.. cadillac records will do okay in the box office.. I do believe that rihanna is more appeling now than beyonce is but thats life there will always be some one younger, cuter, dress nicer etc than u.
Janet better be in Houston OCT 21…..that’s all I’m saying
They really wish RIhanna was white dont they? The pic says it all….
riri vs beyonce..Riri is doing her thing right now but somehow i have a feeling she is going to fade away.. white folks may like her right now but trust me these white people will be the same who will spit her out fast..They will always be true to their own kind.. classic example britney..the chick was crazy, put out a crapy single but it did well because white people love this girl and aint nothing that is going to stop them.. i do not have a problem with taking her career into a different direction but she must not concentrate in one area because us black also buy her music contrary to popular belief and when shit hits the fan it is going to be difficult to turn back..Some how i feel like people are using her as the business and not her doing the business and that is dangerous..Beee on the hand has not changed much and is sticking to what she knows which a lot of people are finding boring when comparing to riri..the dif is that bebe is handling the business and not the business handling her…Beyonce does not concentrate in one are and makes music that all people will like and will last…for exmple distubia.. was nice for a couple of days but now i cannot stand it but i can still listen to crazy in love even today..the problem with making one week hits is that people will love them today but tommorrow they hate them and move onto the next…People who have control over the business know this unlike people who are the business and that for me is the main diff…On rir’s new album one person said she better nail it for everyone or else her short lived career is gone..The girl was nearly broke and that should say something…I like her but somehow i feel she is having to much fun being used and confusing it for success…
