♫ NEW MUSIC FROM CHRISTINA MILIAN

cmilipromo.jpg

Singer and actress Christina Milian is making a huge splash back into the music scene with her new single, “Us Against the World,” which is supposed to premiere exclusively on MySpace on October 6th, but it looks like listeners and the blogsophere will go a chance to hear it early. Christina has had a hard time garnering any real success when she was on Def Jam, so hopefully this deal with the new MySpace/Interscope imprint, she can get the drive she needs behind this new project.

Even though this isn’t what I expected for the first single, I can see the direction. The Mad-Scientist-produced “Us Against the World” is ballad-esque but has that pop sound that everyone is going for this time around. This song will probably grow on me. But I wanna see what else Christina’s got up her sleeve.

Check out Christina’s MySpace to keep up with updates, because you’ll be seeing her face on there a lot. And keep it locked on CL!

Some parts of the of the melody remind me of Usher “In the Club”

Hmmm, its nice, not crazy about it, but i hope she has other good material.

I like it! It’s pop, but it also sounds a bit r&b…

    No bad. I like Christina.

When it first started, it reminded me of an old Brandy track, and then the lyrics reminded me of something else I’ve heard before.

This is a nice song – and it fits her target audience. She’s never been able to get a foot hold in the urban market (maybe it’s that Disney background :-) ).

I’ve tried to support Christina’s last couple of efforts because I think she’s super talented. However, beyond the single, and may 1 or 2 more tracks, the CDs were garbage.

    I’m rooting for her though!

#66 is right. it has that alicia keys “no one” feel to. the song is nice, and she is a good vocalist, but i wouldn’t have chosen this for the first single. and i hope chritina finally makes it big. her last three albums were WACK!!!! she has yet to leave a mark on the industry.

she can not sing but i wish they gave it to tiffany evans or karina pasian or even beyonce…..but i guess its passable for her release since she fell off.

This is what gets me… when everyone is fed up with a bunch of female artists and then all of a sudden they start to like an artist who hasn’t been on the scene for a while and is just like them! Christina Milian was never slept on, she was just someone who never had talent and tried so hard to have a successful career. The reason why she never sold is because it was obvious that she was all about sex and image. Plus, her music was too bubblegum and pop. She seems like a nice girl, but I can’t stand her. Def Jam did the right thing by dropping an artist who sold her ass in videos and magazines. This song is boring and that pic is ugly as hell. She looks like a damn alien. WTF y’all talking about she looks good in that pic? Looks like she’s going for the Rihanna vibe instead of the Beyonce vibe she went with in 05.

She is a doll! sorry the song doesn’t do it…needs better producers
