Before I met him, I’ve thought that Kevin Michael was one of the most underrated male vocalists out now and if you weren’t familiar with his debut self-titled album (which dropped last year), then you’re surely going to familiarize yourself with Mr. Michael this time around.
He’s exclusively given CL a sneak preview of his first, all-digital mixtape, which will release in just a matter of time. Here’s what he had to say:
The whole idea for the mixtape was, if I can’t be on Billboard Hot 100 while I’m recording my new album, I’ll just make my own Billboard. The T.I. cover just made sense, he’s my label mate through Atlantic, he has two singles that are top 10 right now, it was a no brainer. I just want people to know I’m not dead and to introduce myself to those who don’t know KM.
Kevin will record his own versions of the chart toppers with his own personal spin. He’s a very talented song writer and vocalist, and I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve heard from Kevin so far. After the release of his digital mixtape, Kevin will begin work on is sophomore set, due sometime early next year.

OMG CL YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!!! i loooooooooove mr michael. His first CD is simply genius. “Aint Got You” and “Love Letter” are amazing. He hits his falsettos in an unimaginable way. Especially on Love Letter. He is so underrated but I will always support him 100% no matter what. I’m telling you man true talent always goes unrecognized for some strange reason. This remix is hott. I honestly could not listen to the original too much b/c i could’t get with Ri Ri’s voice but this one will be on repeat for a long time.
