Julian King, 7-year-old nephew of Jennifer Hudson, was shot twice in the head, according to autopsy reports. However, his time of death could not be specified.
King was found Monday in an abandoned white Suburban on the West Side of Chicago.
On Friday, William Balfour, 27, Julian’s stepfather and Julia’s estranged husband, was detained Friday as a person of interest. He was later transferred to prison on a parole violation. According to the Department of Corrections, he spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.
No charges have been filed against anyone in connection with the slayings.
Balfour missed an appointment with his parole agent Friday because he was “babysitting”. He violated terms of his parole by possessing a weapon and failing to attend anger management class and a substance abuse program.
On Tuesday, Balfour’s mother, Michele Davis-Balfour, said her said had nothing to do with the slayings: “I’m sorry this happened to this girl’s family, but they’re not going to put it on my own son. He hasn’t been framed, but he’s been wrongly accused.”
She said after he got out of prison, William was trying to improve his life by working at a sandwich shop. She also said he obtained his GED in prison by studying horticulture and told Nancy Grace that William’s brother told her that William was with “one of his girlfriends” around the time of the killings.
Julia posted a message on her MySpace page thanking people for the support:
“His li’l soul is at ease, I take comfort in knowing that Julian is with my mother and my brother and most of all the Lord, and now he’s my angel, he’s protecting me. Now because I chose to do what was natural to me and love someone, it cost me my beautiful family, my wonderful beautiful loving supporting mother, Darnell, my true blue baby brother, Jason, I love u big baby … and last but never not least, my only son, Julian…I take comfort in knowing that Julian is with my mother and my brother and most of all the Lord and now he’s my angel, he’s protecting me“.

Chicago police have released evidence today (October 29), suggesting more than one person was involved in the triple murder involving singer Jennifer Hudson’s family.
An even more horrifying fact has emerged in the case, as AllHipHop.com has learned that one of Julian King’s hands was also cut off, suggesting that he may have been being held for ransom.
The boy was also shot in the head, although it is not known if his hand was severed prior to, or after his death.
The investigation has revolved around primary suspect William Balfour, estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia Hudson, who was apprehended on Friday (October 24).
Although not charged with the South Side slayings, Balfour is being held on parole violations.
Witnesses placed Balfour in his teal Chrysler on the block of the murder scene last Friday at 7 AM. Later, the car was discovered parked a mile away at Robeson High School.
His girlfriend later verified he was at the home where Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother Jason were shot to death.
On Monday (October 27), the body of 7-year old nephew Julian King was discovered several miles away in Jason Hudson’s Chevy Suburban.
The child was also the victim of multiple gunshot wounds. Security video from Robeson High School shows someone parking Balfour’s Chrysler on Friday, but a positive ID could not be made of the individual.
The video stamp also shows the car was left at 12:30 pm.
However, cell phone records place Balfour on the West Side of Chicago at that time, which indicates another suspect drove the vehicle from the South Side Hudson murder scene to the high school.
The possible origin of the crime is alleged to be over a car dispute between Balfour and his estranged wife Julia Hudson.
At the time of his apprehension, Balfour was on parole for a 1999 attempted murder conviction, and had been arrested in June for possession of cocaine.
At press time, police report that William Balfour is still not cooperating with any questioning.
The mother made herself sound like an ass on Nancy Grace. Nancy normally pisses me off but she was more than patient with that woman! She kept saying “let me explain somethin to you ” but she didn’t explain shyt! She didn’t comment when nancy said something about the girlfriend sayin he lied about his alibi! Past behavior is a good predictor of future actions, which is probably why everyone (including your truly) is quick to say ex-hubby thuglife is guilty. In addition, when ppl are murdered it is generally someone close to the family. I think mom is just pleading for her son to have a fair trial and change public perception of him (which she FAILED to do). In addition to the anger, you can hear her frustration and bitterness. I think Balfour mother is the most ignorant person I seen in a while. Although you take out for your kids she was just out of control. Another thing, everyone is giving Julia the hardest time. I won’t judge her because I don’t know her situation. So she married someone who was a “thug or ex-convict”. I do believe Balfour had something to do with this and he didn’t act alone. I agree with #50 as to say that he was jealous that he wasn’t no longer part of this family’s fame. I think you are right, that actually makes allot of since. But how is it that Balfous cell phone was on the west side at the same time as these crimes were being commited? I wonder do they have record of a phone call being made from that area during that time, just because his cell is there on the West Side, doesnt mean that HE isn’t on the southside. And what is the purpose of these street cameras if you can’t MAKE OUT who the person in the car is?

I am the single parent of two sons, one of which was just carjacked and robbed at gun point. When he got home and told me what happened – I reacted in a way I never would have thought. Therefore, I think all the people who are judging Julia are stupid. People grieve differently and if she wanted to go on My Space or did not cry — who are you to judge. If you have not walked in her shoes then you have no right to talk about her actions — how do you know how you would act if you have not been there?!? If you have not been with her 24/7 how do you know how she is acting or grieving . . . .

I think the mother Julia had something to do with this too. First she lied and said she was at work Friday (the day of the murders) driving the school bus. Come to find out, the city of Chicago didn’t even have school that day b/c it was a teachers only work day. Why lie?? She was the one to discover the bodies, I really think she knew something was going to happen therefore was no where to be found when the tragic incident happend. However, she came right after it took place. Her ex husband (Balfour) was probably making threats to her that he was going to do this and do that etc.. and actually took action. Come on people. Anytime there is a brutal killing like this, it has to do with drugs and money. I really feel Julia did this crime. There are way too many signs. First of all, Julia looks to be the least successful and least attractive of the two sisters (Jennifer and Julia) so I’m sure jealousy also played a part in this. Jennifer has gone on to lose a lot of weight, win an Oscar and look as beautiful as ever, all the while, Julia is still in the “hood” looking for love (as she states on her myspace page-how on earth can you find time to be on myspace at a time like this). She also implies that William killed her family on her page. The perpetrator is always quick to turn the attention elsewhere. The mother took care of Julia’s son for all of these years, therefore, Julia feels no real connection to him and could’ve quite possible killed him without remorse. At her press conference she didn’t shed a tear, and referred to her son as “that boy”. Personally, I would have been in the hospital on sedatives. I hope that I’m wrong, but when a person wants money for drugs, coupled with anger and jealousy, and possibly feeling her mother loved Jennifer better than her, they may do anything. She knew this would hurt Jennifer to the core of her soul and she could care less. I just have a feeling Julia did it.

Suspected Murder Weapon Recovered

Police recovered a gun today and it may be the murder weapon in the Hudson murder case.
Cops sent 100 personnel to search the area where the body of 7-year-old Julian King was found. A handgun was found in an abandoned lot, about a block away from where the vehicle with Julian’s body inside was parked.
Cops believe this is the weapon used in all three murders.
The Chicago Sun-Times broke the story.
TMZ is reporting that Jason Hudson, Julia Hudson, and Gregory King (little Julian King’s biological father) were all arrested on crack cocaine charges back in ‘02. Only Jason and Gregory were convicted though. The entire Hudson home was raided by authorities back in ‘02. Jason and Gregory were also allegedly in the same Gangster Disciple street gang as suspect William Balfour. It is being determined if drugs and gang affiliation had anything to do with the murders.

My prayers go out to the entire Hudson family, and the paternal side of Julian’s. This crime that was committed was unthinkable. It almost sounds like something you would see on a movie. For a human being( MONSTER) just to take the lives of mutiple people. I live in chicago and this case has been on every channel. The whole city of chicago was looking for that SUV over the weekend, that is why I find it so hard to believe that car was just spotted on Monday. I hope they find the person who committed this heinous crime, if it is not William Balfour, so the family can have closure and time to grieve. Look as a pregressive young black man, I do not quite understand why black women date black men who have prison records. But thats your choice.
Regardless of who discovered the bodies, this woman — Julia Hudson is no angel. She brought this convict into her families life, and irresponsibly so. Not only did she do so, she married the man. On her Myspace page she admits to having a weakness for “good dick,” and judging by his (William Balfours) Myspace place, that might very well be the only thing he had to offer.
After all, and this is not be judging, but he is 27 years old working at Sandwich Shop. Now I applaud him for trying, and keeping a job for whatever amount of time he has been there, but come on, if I were a single woman with a child I would have higher expectations if not for myself, then for the example I would like to place in my childs life.

This is so sad. I really hope this wasn’t about jealously. IMO,Jennifer has nothing to be jealous of. Sure she’s got a couple bucks and an Oscar. Sure she’s lost weight. She’s still a small fry in Hollywood though. Plus,the entertainment business is very flakey and no amount of fame and fortune can bring her family back. I hope it isn’t as triffling as you said. Too bad Julia didn’t realize this(if she’s involved). I would rather reserve my opinion for now. As a mother myself,I could never see another mother participating in the death of her family-especially her own child.

#7 said Balfour must have had a dummy helping him. The only way that makes sense is if Balfour was arrested before that innocent child was killed. The CPD didn’t release the time of death and there could be good reason for that if their still looking for the second person involved. I have read a lot on this and normally I don’t do that but I can’t stop thinking about the innocent child. If I could put a question in CPD head to ask a question that maybe they haven’t yet have. Like all of us out here “We all want the same thing” the real murderers apprehended and pay to the full extent of the law for what they have done. ‘Julia” yes to me she is most definetly a “person of interest”. How can we out here not have doubts. Where was she when her family was murdered? Was the teal car Balfour was driving found at the school where Julia works?
