FBI officials confirmed this afternoon in a press conference that a body found this morning on Chicago’s West Side is that of 7-year old Julian King, actress/singer Jennifer Hudson’s nephew.
Jennifer helped positively identify the body of her young nephew today, hours after he was found with gunshot wounds in a sport-utility vehicle on Chicago’s West Side, authorities said.
An autopsy was scheduled to be done on the body of Julian on Tuesday at the Cook County medical examiner’s office, where Hudson and other relatives went to help identify the remains this afternoon.
A law enforcement source told the Tribune that the boy had been shot multiple times in the back of the white Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle had been the subject of an intense search and Amber Alert issued on Friday after Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot and killed inside the family’s South Side home.
Chicago police brought Julian’s body to the medical examiner’s office shortly after noon today and Hudson and other family members arrived about three hours later, said office spokesman Sean Howard.
Over the weekend, Hudson offered $100,000 for the safe return of her nephew via her myspace.
The police continue to hold William Balfour – Julia’s estranged husband – in custody as a person of interest. Balfour has denied involvement in the killings or the disappearance of the boy, law-enforcement sources said. They are currently reviewing surveillance tapes in the neighborhood where the SUV was found in search of more clues.

@102 I agree why did it take three days for people in the neighbor who noticed the vehicle was there since Friday to call the police. Thank God for the little dog who howled as his owners walked him passed the vehicle. Yes, it took a dog to do this not human beings. Come on people wake up and get involved.

My heart broke when I heard the news of this tragedy. I like many other people on this post am so happy that Jennifer is having so much success with her acting and singing career. To have this happen is devastating. I hope that they do bring whoever is responsible to justice.

Well let me just say, my prayers and deepest condolences go out to the Hudson Family. I understand where you guys are coming from when you speak of taking the life of a child, but to take any INNOCENT persons life is just sick I also understand when you say the death penalty is a cop out, but our prisons have become so lavish that, it’s not much of a punishment, free room and board is all it really is and the sicko does not deserve that. Solitary confinement wont work either, because the fact that this sick individual was able to do such a thing, proves he has no concious.

im so sickened by this whole incident. I was in the gym this morning and had to walk out because I couldn’t hold back the tears thinking about Jennifer and what she might be going through, as well as the family. On the cover of today’s New York Daily News, there is a picture of the boy doing what is known as the “manu cornuto” or “Satan’s Horns”. The mainstream media posted that picture to show that the killings of her mother, brother, and nephew were satanic sacrifices for Jennifer Hudson to accrue more power and prestige in the industry.

Suspects can be a number of people: gang affiliated individual, close friend of the family or a relative. The evidence is there and they can eliminate the suspects swiftly. I think the individual got scared once the Feds were called and went to the extreme of murdering that child just to cover his/her tracks. the truck/suv/van was found near the proximity of the household, so someone saw and someone knows. If the regular cops in that neighborhood or town could not discover the van/suv/truck, then there’s a problem with that police department. I hope the autopsy will let the truth be found and for that asshole that murder those people, you will be found, coward.

Someone posted earlier not to start posting that the sister Julia made bad choice in men. No I wont do that, but at the same time all arrows & green light signal toward him (the stepfather). He has a rap sheet of stolen vehicles, & attempted murder? HELLO! He is being held presently on a parole violation. They need to dust that white SUV down for prints and comb it for any type of evidence possible! Comb that vehicle with a fine tooth comb and call any bodies whos DNA shows up in the findings in for questioning. The sister Julia never once named him (the stepfather) a suspect. But something is up man…something aint right with this story, something dont smell right.

My opinion I think, he waited to kill the little boy last perhaps for ransom/money purposes. Police was on his tail too quickly for that BS. And then he probably couldn’t let him go because he was a witness & could later identify him as the murderer. He killed everyone in that house this past Friday, & he will answer to GOD for commiting such a VIOLENT act. As for Julia, she may still love this man & the whole 9 yards but cmon…the man is a criminal, he killed her family (her blood not his blood) I dont care what nobody says (or he was involved in some way shape or form).
He (the stepfather) has a MYSPACE page (he’s in the sister Julias top category on her MYSPACE page & vice versa),and the brother Jason (may he RIP), jennifer & her Fiance David also all have MYSPACE pages. Julia is practically admitting she made “bad choices” in her “about me message” her own self. But Read the step fathers “about me message”, from that alone Im telling yall dude sounds real SHADY.
There is NO REASON for KILLING anybody! Let GOD handle that in his own time. I was hoping that there would be some type of happy ending to come out of this (Julia finding her son) but I am very shocked, sad and angered to know that someone took his frustrations out on a 7 year-old child. I’m surprised not pretty much no-one has on here said anything about Julia. i mean HELLO she just lost her CHILD! and i’m seeing people say stuff like, were so sorry jennifer (which of course i am…more than i can ever write) myheart is breaking for entire family truthfully (i have slept well since this happened) but people really need to be thinking about Julia. Losing a child is THE WORST thing that imo can ever happen to anybody. It’s before any kind of abuse physical, sexual, mental it’s even worse than losing a parent because although sad it is the natural cycle of life that our parents should die before us (although this particular case is very tragic because it was violent and untimely)
