Singer and actress Christina Milian is making a huge splash back into the music scene with her new single, “Us Against the World,” which is supposed to premiere exclusively on MySpace on October 6th, but it looks like listeners and the blogsophere will go a chance to hear it early. Christina has had a hard time garnering any real success when she was on Def Jam, so hopefully this deal with the new MySpace/Interscope imprint, she can get the drive she needs behind this new project.
Even though this isn’t what I expected for the first single, I can see the direction. The Mad-Scientist-produced “Us Against the World” is ballad-esque but has that pop sound that everyone is going for this time around. This song will probably grow on me. But I wanna see what else Christina’s got up her sleeve.

Rapper/Actor Common covers the new issue of 944 Magazine and he is looking mighty fine in his black frames. Common sat down with the mag and talked politics. Here is a snippet:
Why do you support Barack Obama? After all, he’s politician, too.
On a practical level, we’re dealing with a lot of hard times and struggles. I see Barack Obama as a beacon of light because, more than anything, I see him promoting love. Of course he’s a politician, working within a system, but he’s been able to show us that we can’t be caught up with old prejudices or focus so much on negative things. I believe that this guy is gonna do right for us because he’s paying attention to middle-and-lower-class people, to-black and Latino, so-called minorities.
His new album Universal Mind Control is in stores in November.

O.J. Simpson is taken into custody after being found guilty during his trial at the Clark County Regional Justice Center on Friday, October 3, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Simpson and co-defendant Clarence ‘C.J.’ Stewart were found guilty on all charges after standing trial for crimes including felony kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy related to a 2007 confrontation with sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel.
The verdict comes 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Check out the album cover for Brandy’s comeback album, Human, which drops on November 11th. This is Brandy’s newest project since 2004’s Afrodisiac and her first release with her new label, Epic Records. On the album, Brandy is working with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who produced her lead single, “Right Here (Departed),” as well as The Clutch, Keri Hilson and a host of others. I know Brandy fans alike can’t wait.
BEYONCE PLANS TOUR + SHOOTS 2 VIDEOS
Beyonce, who has been giving us a little information about her new project, dropping on the 18th of November, has already begun plans for a tour in 2009 for the new album. The artist will play international dates next spring, followed by a North American tour in early summer.
Beyonce has yet to release her singles, “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies,” but she’s shot videos for both - and both were directed by Jake Nava. The songs will impact radio October 14th, while the videos will finally premiere later on in the month.
The artist will perform one of the new singles Nov. 6 as part of the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool, England.
Also in the works is a Beyonce AOL Sessions and a deluxe edition of the album, also due Nov. 18, featuring as-yet-unannounced bonus tracks.
