Hey, I LOVE me some Obama, but at the beginning of the debate I was like “Oh snap!! McCain is pretty much taking it to him” That’s just my opinion. When all was said and done though, Obama came out on top just like he will on Nov. 4th!! OBAMA 08 SON!!!!

I’m not really into politics and didn’t even go to the polls in my OWN country (Can.) but i watched the debate last night…well was forced by Mr. Man to watch it…and McCain looked soooo childish, petty and illiterate. Every question he answered included a swipe @ Obama. I am very impressed by Obama’s tact and maturity and class….I believe the US, North America, the WORLD would benefit greatly if Obama was in office!!! And not because he shares the same skin color as I do or comes from the same place as my foremothers…he seems to really CARE about his country, ALL people! He DESERVES to be in that dingy old white house..bring some color to it!!

Last night’s debate was the best of the three debates held. Real questions - real responses.

That debate was by the best of the three. McCain came out hard, but by Obama’s demeanor I knew he had some “zingers” of his own - and sure enough. Obama crushed him on the Ayers issue. He came back pretty good when McCain said, “I am not Bush” Obama said you might not be but your policies are the same. McCain was making all these peculiar facial expressions as if he was constipated. You could tell he was pissed and hates Obama’s guts.

McCain made two big gaffes last night. The first one was when he trivialized women’s health during the topic on abortion rights and the second was when he tried to defend the illiterate supporters at his rallies yelling “Kill him” whenever Obama’s name comes up. That was most disturbing to me.

The debate was good. I noticed that they did less “pointing fingers” and went into a little more depth when addressing economic issues, which is the most important thing. McCain is all about pointing fingers, where as Barack defends himself by stating his intentions for America. I liked it when Barack explained why he agreed and disagreed with some of the points made by McCain. It’s true-McCain intends to pick up where Bush left off.

As this was the last debate, everyone knew that McCain would come out swinging and he did. The first 30 minutes, I must admit that McCain was actually doing well and threw out some zingers at Obama, but of course my man Obama kept his cool and stayed with the issues. Obama did well, as expected. Now it’s time to do our part. Even though most polls say that Obama has the lead in the election, we MUST go out and vote on election day. Everyone’s voice must be heard so we can change this country. Obama 08!!!!

McCain came out swinging but nothing changed he also probably helped a few undecided voters. His body language was tight, he rolled his eyes, he took exasperated breathes… he showed signs that he was pissed or shook more like “this nigga here”. McCain remained on the attack he was visibly hurt when he spoke about O repudiating a statement someone else made as if Obama should have bowed down. But like Obama said “business as usual in politics”

How could M want to overturn Roe v. Wade and say “this is a difficult decision for any woman”? uh you are trying to take away the choice the decision my rights as a woman…. “listen to his words”

Also, McCain waited until now to distance himself from Bush all too late buddy…. McCain got in some good one liners but that was it.

Obama did a great job and has been consistent throughout in MY opinion. 3 weeks left and Obama said “he didn’t mind he’s up for it”…..

i couldn’t believe some of the mess that was coming out of that man’s mouth! it was so frustrating to watch. that’s probably how obama felt, which is why he was caught smiling so much and making crude gestures (i hope everyone watch CNN, because they were one of the only networks that showed a split screen almost continuously throughout the debate). mccain tried to gain sympathy by talking about a damn apology for others (NOT obama’s) remarks, which were only said b/c of the things that were said FIRST at mccains conventions. ugh, this is such a tireless subject! i just can’t wait until november 4th.

My favorite part of the whole the whole debate is John McCain failed, “Plant and Payoff” move with this Joe Plumber guy. It was like an hour into the debate and after Obama gave his 2 minute rundown on his tax plan. McCain looked into the camera and said AHAAA! Congrats Joe, Your Rich! LMFAO! I wouldn’t be surprised if McCain went as far as saying Check and Mate! (insert old man grunts too) haha! He fell flat on his face.

Also when Obama said that his health care plan wouldn’t have any fines. The look on McCain’s Face was P-Rice-Less! Damn good television!

The first half hour, McCain did appear to have the upper-hand on the debate, but lets be real…they’ve debated 3 times now, wouldn’t most people have some sort of improvement, by the third time?! Now I’m not saying that he blew Obama away, because McCain still hasn’t said specifically how he will improve this country’s state, not to mention he was so tense throughout the debate, even if I was a McCain supporter I would wonder how confident he is, in his own doctrines. However, he is a “hothead” and @ one point I was looking at him like “calm down!” he almost had a “caniption” (he threw a fit) lol…while Obama was so calm, I love that about him. With all of that said, Obama will win come November 4th. Side Note- since when did politics ever care about candidates’ “hurt feelings” I thought McCain was trying to throw himself a pity party because Obama didn’t “reputiate” his campaign or ppl not even affiliated like John Lewis said about McCain.

Senator Obama held his own last night. He was awsome. He held his composure and he was dignified and showed America just why he should be President of this country. While Mccaine on the other hand just tried to win over the undecided voters the depserate way–by trying to throw negative blows to Obama. Obama did well turning the topics back to what needed to be talked about rather than name bashing and pointing fingers. Mccajn kept voicing that Americans are angry…yeah and were getting even more angrier at the fact that you cant answer a question stright forward but rather turn it into wht Obama isnt doing. Obama really kept his composure when McCain said I am not Bush, if you wanted to run against him you should of ran 4 years ago..” He really kept his composure and that was uncalled for by McCaine. Its obvious your not George Bush, but if you get into office it will be 4 more years of the way things are right now.

I thoroughly enjoyed the debate lastnite. Obama stuck to the facts and cleared up the mess. McCain really makes my anus ache. With all the interjecting and arrogant laughing. Did he miss the fact that Obama has a 14% lead? Best part of the night for me was when McCain mentioned Palin and her autistic son (sympathy move) encouraging the push for programs for the mentally challenged. Obama shot back with “Senator McCain my plan will reform and fund those programs.” I was like BAM in your face. People fail to realize Joe the Plummer if able to accrue $200,000+ landing him in the higher tax bracket will be sitting right up there with Obama. Paying his share of taxes so get the hell over it. All of his employees (the middle class) will not be taxed which means he can make up for money lost by calculating wages with the taxes included. No money lost and he still lives reasonably. He needs to get a damn accountant. If i hear Joe the Plummer one more time i am gonna die. That’s my rant. It just killed me that McCain was fake as hell taking all the cues from the strategist and media. I can honestly say that I have not been this politically aware or involved since the Clinton administration. I gave up on Bush just a year into his first term, and I haven’t looked back. I have seen the world as I know it change drastically as a result of his policies though.

I’ve watched all 4 debates, including the very comical and entertaining Vice Presidential debate. Everyone was talking about how angry and antagonistic John McCain seemed in last night’s debate, but he’s seemed that way in all 3 debates to me.

McCain just seemed…old and doddering. He lost me a couple of times, and then the seemingly random comments he would make about Palin at the most inapropriate moments was very weird for me.

McCain still failed to spell out clearly how he intended to govern the country, and he seemingly was coming off the top of his head with some of his answers.

We need to STOMP NOW more than ever to make sure Obama wins. We cannot rest on our laurels just because the polls show Obama leading. NO ONE should be thinking that their vote isn’t important or necessary. Yes, we do need to worry about racism and how that will impact voters. But we all should be prayerful that white people will embrace their inner Negro and vote their conscience and intellect, and not their race.

While watching the debate last night, I noticed something. John McCain nitpicks with Barack Obama’s character to the people of America. He never says it to Obama. McCain (the Same) doesn’t answer a question directly. He freqently makes sneak attacks rather than focus on the issue at hand. McCain have everything but a real solution to the problems we are facing.

Joe the Plumber is Joe Wurzelbacher and he is the voice and face of many Americans including myself with concerns about tax breaks, capital gains issues if you make over $250k and own a small business… while Walmart gets a subsidy right now for placing their business in communities the end up closing Mom and Pop stores…. either way both of their plans on that issue is screwed up… however long term I understand Obama’s will come together especially if he tweaks it now and rethinks what he is planning…

Also, sending jobs out of the country McCain? Do you know how many people get laid off each year because their job is outsourced…. try calling Amex on the weekend and you will get Rashid from India who wants your SS#… uh I think not…. Obama shut it down last night. While McCain was grumpy, condescending and snarky, Obama was cool, calm, and collected. Obama answered questions by stating facts and telling the American people what he would do while McCain just attacked and attacked. I guess that’s your only option when you’re LOSING. And he spent WAY too much time complaining about Lewis, saying he was owed an apology or whatever. He even had the nerve to defend those rednecks at his rallies shouting “terrorist” and “kill him!” Are you serious McCain???

Obama was far more presidential than I have ever seen McCain. A shame considering Obama is 25 years McCain’s JUNIOR. All that eye-rolling, smirkiness and agitiation does not look good when the country is watching. You can tell he thinks he is above Obama, like he shouldn’t even have to debate the man, as if he is OWED the presidency. No dummy you have to EARN it.

If Obama was petty he should have reminded him (McCain) that he did run against G.W. Guess how that worked out. You don’t need a history book. Barack won the debate (not that there’s any victory in winning ‘em), but Mccain was so freakin hilarious to me. I loved the comment, “if you wanted to run against Bush then you should have ran 4 years ago,” LMAO! Go ‘head Mccain, haha! But Barack was good @ sticking to the topics. All in all it just made me more anxious for Nov. 4th. These debates are useless @ this point.

The debates last night just showed how low the Republican Party will go to try to slander Sen. Obama. I will say that in the beginning I thought Sen. Obama, soon to be PRESIDENT OBAMA, was not fighting back like he should, but as I watched the debate I realized he was doing what he needed to do; and that was to show people that he was educated and was not going to use dirty tactics against Sen. McCain. He was getting his point across by showing McCain that all the things he kept bringing up was repetition. I know I must have heard McCain mention the ACORN thingy, several time. You would have thought that once Sen. Obama addressed it the first time that McCain would have left well enough alone. He did not leave it alone until finally Sen. Obama put him in his rspective place. That to me just showed that Sen. Obama is the right man for the job at hand. I will say that last night finalized my decision to VOTE for OBAMA!!

Obama again proved himself superior in maturity, composure, and long term planning. he always upholds a level of class that McCain isn’t even close to, and his cheap tactics relied on nothing but inaccuracies, exaggerations, mud slinging, and petty accusations designed to ‘trick’ the average American into to thinking Obama isn’t vote worthy.

America won’t transform overnight, and unlike McCain, Obama is making that clear. What he is saying is that with a united effort, under his leadership, things will improve drastically for ALL Americans, on a long term basis.

I liked how Obama completely debunked McCains ridiculous claims of him not “repudiating” negative comments by not only pointing out that every single one of McCains ads are negative, but by bringing up what McCain supporters shout at their rallies - which McCain didn’t actually disapprove of, even during this debate.

It was also good to hear him shut-down the Ayers and Acorn farce that McCains campaign has been relying on lately. Plus he always tried to take the debate away from his and McCains personal feuds, and get back to their policies. Overall, I think Obama did a far better job. Yeah McCain came out swinging but it just looked desperate and typically accusatory to me. McCain knows he can’t win purely on his merits, so he has to try his damnedest to win of Obamas claimed weaknesses. He wants votes AGAINST Obama, since he knows few are giving votes FOR him.

Ok….I watched that debate last night and was appalled by some of McCain’s comments and overall behavior. I was particularly amazed at his response regarding improving our education system in America, where he basically said that people who come home after serving in the armed forces should be allowed to teach without having to become a “certified” teacher! How is that going to IMPROVE education by letting just any uneducated “Joe” war hero teach our children (and by uneducated I mean uneducated in education). Also, I did not care for the way he promised additional funds to taxpayers for healthcare except for those with “gold-plated Cadillac” plans that have coverage for “plastic surgery and TRANSPLANTS and other things like this”. Since when are plastic surgery and transplants found under the same umbrella? He made it sound like a transplant is an ostentatious addition to health care instead of a life-saving necessity. As a daughter of a father who just had a successful Kidney transplant and a sister of a brother in need of one, his comments came off as completely insensitive and out of touch with the needs of Americans. I am still waiting to hear from my father about his thoughts on this statement as he claims to be a McCain supporter. I am not with him on that one. McCain’s temperament ALONE could get all of us killed!!! He comes off as extremely arrogant, immature (to be so dang old), and unintelligent. He does not belong in the white house!!!

We really need a taxbreak. I get tired of them taxing my checks like crazy and then I dont even get back half of what they take and I have a good decent hourly wage. Not to put my business out their but I make $14/hour; That should equal $1120 every two weeks, but after tax, Im down to $900 and after premiums and 401k that leaves me with $856 every 2 weeks. Then you have taxes on clothes, food etc…..property tax, state tax, tax on your cars. It’s ridiculous. We need a change, middle class has always suffered because the rich stay rich, the poor stay poor (but receive help) and then the middle class makes up for where both lack and its very unfair!!!!! Change is good and I hope OBAMA comes through on his plan.

I think the reason why most of the undecided people are not sure of Obama is because John McKKKlan has painted a picture to the people that Obama is going to raise taxes of ALL PEOPLE. Which is completely false because he’s going to tax the large corporations that are getting off easy by just paying lawyers and etc. to keep from paying taxes and hes making a complete ass of himself, because the upperclass and these corporations do not pay their fair share. Obama lost the debate and he lost it badly… Mr. Cool was not the act to go with in an enormously important final debate when McCain was in attack mode and had everything to prove by bringing Obama down. I don’t think Obama responded to even half of the serious allegations McCain threw at him with and when he did respond his answers were weak, incomplete, or unconvincing. With the amount and ferocity of the crap McCain was throwing his way this simply was not the hour to play Mr. Nice Guy. What the hell happened to the “Enough is enough” Obama from the Sarah Palin lipstick-on-a-pig insanity? They tried to score a cheap sucker-punch but he came out and punched them right back and shut them up. I’m sorry but Obama needed to put away the calm and cool demeanor for 90 minutes last night and confront McCain’s and the Republicans’ vicious assaults with his own anger and pissed off-ness.
This was a different kind debate and Obama failed to rise to the occasion and just let McCain unleash pure character assasination on him for 90 minutes. A huge disappointment

I agree that McCain did a lot better in this debate than he has in the past two debates. I was turned off by “joe the plummer” talk. (What is it with the McCain campaign and Joes?…I digress).

I felt that Obama did spend most of the debate defending himself, and his issues. He could have done better in my opinion. Most people already know who they’re voting for at this point and those who don’t are leaning towards a candidate and is looking for a reason not to vote for them.

@113–like #116 said, i think you were actually tuned out while the independents and undecided were tuned in and picked barack as the winner of the debate. barack held his own as only he can do and he didn’t attack mcsame because all the polls are showing that the american public views attacks negatively. he did what he needed to do while mcsame fluttered around like a plane with a stalled engine, trying to land. and he never did. barack is intelligent and strategic and knows that mere one upmanship is not going to win him the white house. it may not have been barack’s strongest showing (personally, i liked debate no. 2 better) but he definitely has mcsame on the ropes and if all he has going for him is joe the plumber, that is where he will remain.

John McCain started of stronger but fell apart when he actually had to talk about issues and issues are what matter the most to Americans which is why Obama won.

Obama gets my vote, on POLICY/not just demeanor. I am a finance professional and I understand the significance of their economic plans and how they will affect the markets around the world. Other nations are doing what Obama is proposing right now to stave off the same kinds of issues we face. This is time for a “My brother’s keeper” philosophy (for all of you theologians out there) and not “Everyman for himself” like McCain proposes. You see, high profit earners are not being penalized so much as pulling their weight in a crisis. We have to understand that the least of us is the measure by which a nation is truly measured. Why is it that we will be willing to police the world but scoff at programs to eradicate poverty in our own country? Save me the tax and spend debate… because if we are not willing to do things different than the “bootstrap GOP” then we will be looking at something far worse than the Great Depression.
Now in the POLICY debate, McCain loses. He was so busy trying to poke holes in Obama’s plan that he failed to lay out the specifics of his own. How will you pay for it John? What will you sacrifice John? No Answer. All he did was pander to his base… more illicitly to the base nature of his base.
Wat about the fact that he too spoke at an ACORN event THIS YEAR? uuum we won’t talk about that…. for a fee…. nevermind.

K, without attacking the man on personality, his subject matter suffered. I was convinced last night, Obama should be President.

informed this weekend by a group of Obama volunteers that when voting for the
presidential candidate this November, you have to make sure you punch
Barack’s name first, then proceed to punch “Straight Democratic” or else the vote for the president
won’t count.

you sound just like a sheep. its ok to criticize the leader. when i said he needed to be aggressive i didn’t mean in a rowdy way. he needed to step his D up start answering questions more direct and quit trippin over his words. i felt he was under prepared and his stingers to McCain were deff overshadowed by the ones thrown at him. McCain spanked him when he called him out on taxin ppl and when he used one of his own supporters as a ploy, Joe the plumber. Obama didnt come back at mccain as hard as he should had. McCain deff had the upper hand in this debate and it was obvious.

i’m from england so i dont know much about american politics but it seems to me obama is for the people while mccain is for cooperate america and if he becomes pres we all know who’ll benefit. and on another thing, d**n some white people are so hateful perhaps they hven’t noticed that there are other people in the country not just them.
