Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, self-described white supremacists, have been charged with plotting a “killing spree” against blacks and an assassination attempt on Sen. Barack Obama.
Both were charged with illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federally licensed gun dealer and making threats against a presidential candidate.
One law enforcement source said, “We take this very, very seriously but we see no evidence these guys have the ability or the wherewithal to pull off what they say they wanted to do.”
Obama was placed under Secret Service protection in May 2007, much earlier than other candidates…rightfully so, considering two previous cases involving threats against him. In August, three men were arrested who posed a “true threat” to the candidate. Earlier that month, a Florida man threatened to assassinate both Obama and George W. Bush.

McCain advisers have suggested that his vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, is “going rogue”.
Sources say she’s gone off-message several times and even noted how “irritating” robocalls are while the campaign defended their use.
One suggests Palin is looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign: “She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone. She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else. Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom.”
A group of Obama supporters have created a website tell him what they want.
TellBarack.org gives visitors an opportunity to let Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama know what is important to them.
The web site includes surveys, details on several issues where visitors can comment and leave ratings and a feature where visitors can send an email to Obama. The site is not affiliated with the official Barack Obama campaign, but the site’s founders believe that with enough input from individual Americans, the Obama staff will be interested in what they have to say.
According to the founders of the site:
“Most of the information available in the media and on the web is telling Americans what Barack wants to do once he is President. But people aren’t listening close enough to what he is saying. He says it is about us. Not him. So we need to let him know what we want him to do.”
Its a real shame. I cant believe that two kids that grew up in the 90s and 2000s (looong donkey years past the days of lynch mobs and segregation) have come out to this. You all really need a change.

The sad thing about these racists is that they are in the same economical position as many blacks, latinos, asians(don’t believe the lies that they’re all successful) and Native Americans. Unfortunately these historically poor, uneducated whites have been unwittingly used by wealthy ruling-class whites as a barrier to prevent people of color from gaining access to all that America has to offer.
Ruling-class whites have fooled these poor whites into believing that they are similar just by the color of their skin. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Rich whites don’t care about poor whites. They look down on them and only have a faux kinship with them when it’s necessary to use their hate and ignorance to further their own gains. The advancements fought for by people of color in this country are the same that poor whites should put their energy into, but, they have allowed their hate of others to cloud the fact that they are considered the same as those who are poor, regardless of their color.
Poor whites suffer the same criminal injustices in their communities; in the justice system; when seeking healthcare; finding living wages; adaquate schooling-the same things you see in a poor black, hispanic, asian, native american community.
The KKK and Aryan Nation has used the hopelessness that poor whites have always felt as a means to recruit them. These organizations are no different than Middle East terrorist groups who exploit poor, mostly young muslims by offering them food, shelter and clothing and then indoctrinating them with hate.
Senator Jim Web of Virginia(once touted as a possible v.p. pick for Obama) said recently in an interview that poor whites have common interests with blacks and they need to get together and fight for them. Until these poor whites who invest their lives in hating others realize this they will continue to be left behind-which will further deepen their hate and anger for those non-whites who succeed in a country that they believe belongs to the white man only.
If Martin Luther King, Jr. had succeeded in his poor peoples’ campaign this coutry would have seen profound changes. Had all the nations’ poor organized and fought for shared interests we may have solved many social problems that still leave us divided-access to good and affordable education, affordable healthcare and fairness in the criminal justice system to name a few.

This race is not about RACE, it’s about SMARTS. Enough said about that. I carefully listen to what Mr. Obama has to say. He is extremely smart. I see this as the beginning of a new era for the Whole World. I really envy Michelle, it must be amazing to have a husband that reads so much. I would love to just sit and talk with Michelle and Barack. It will be so refreshing to have intelligence in the White House. We pray for them each day.
