POLITICS: VP DEBATE RECAP
Friday, October 3, 2008

Vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin aimed most of their criticism at each other’s running mate in their first and only vice presidential debate on Thursday.
Biden accused John McCain of being “out of touch” on the economic crisis and said he was “no maverick” on crucial issues facing Americans. Palin said Barack Obama was too partisan to work across party lines to accomplish change and was waving a “white flag of surrender” in Iraq.
Both camps claimed victory, but this debate is unlikely to dramatically change the presidential race. In a Rasmussen report prior to last night’s debate, just over one-third of voters (34 percent) said the debate was very important to how they would vote.
According to a CBS News/Knowledge Networks poll taken immediately following the debate, uncommitted voters who watched the debate thought Biden did the best job by a margin of more than two to one. Palin’s performance also improved overall perceptions of her with fifty-five percent saying she is prepared for the job, up from 39 percent prior to the debate. Ninety-seven percent say Biden is prepared, up from 81 percent.
All eyes were on Palin in her debut of an unscripted format following her gaffes in recent weeks, who used a steady grin, folksy manner and carefully scripted talking points to punch and persist, both politically and politely, with criticism. Palin used terms such as “heck of a lot” and “Main Streeters like me” to appeal to working-class and middle-class voters who feel abandoned by Washington, pledging that she and McCain would work for the middle-class. She mostly succeeded by not failing in any obvious way, reverting to and repeating talking points such as calling McCain a “maverick” while not necessarily easing any doubts voters may have about her depth of knowledge.
Biden’s adviser were worried that a single gaffe on his part might shift the attention off of Palin. Biden has made memorable gaffes since the beginning, but none of them have been devastating since he is notorious for misspeaking. Most of it comes from his tendency to ramble when giving a speech, answering reporters’ questions or just chatting with voters. He remained forceful and composed during the debate, and both he and Palin were able to avert any major screw-ups.
In case you missed it, you can check out the debate online in its entirety.

That debate was a joke and a waste of time. Sarah Palin is not ready for this position and she proved that last night.
Her rehearsed answers even had Joe Biden looking like WTF! I know you heard him breathing all hard when she was talking, she was all over the place! She basically answered like 3 questions last night and if then went back to her talking points. It made my head hurt.
Biden did a great job, under those circumstances though.

She didn’t fall flat on her face, which was surprising, but she still doesn’t have any depth. You could tell it was all surface level stuff. It was as though she was reading from a script. Joe Biden was perfect (in my unbiased opinion, lol)

If Sarah Palin didn’t make all those mistakes in the Katie Couric inteviews, she would have had a horrible debate. Because of those miscues, the bar or expectations were so low, anything short of major fuck up, would seem satisfactory. And she basically, made statemtents on topics even if the questions on those topics were not asked. Many times when Gwen asked her about a particular topic, Sarah would say “lets talk about taxes” or “lets talk about energy.” I was listening out for Gwen to say “Bitch, that’s not what asked you.” All in all she did what she had to do, she did not help the McCain-Palin ticket but most importantly she didn’t kill it.

I admire Palin for trying but if she would have said the work “Alaska” or “Maverick” again I was going to puck. She never answered a question dead on and she kept repeating the same thing. Now I can’t saw that Binden knows more politically, but i do know that Palin showed how much she does not know.

I actually thought Palin did a good job last night. Of course everybody will knock her here because it’s 100% Obama supporters. I’m not affiliated with any party so I have the liberty to think outside the box. She did good. Not great. She kept making “references” because she has to relate questions to experience that she has since people keep calling her inexperienced.
I think Joe did a good job in his counter attacks, especially when he went off on McCain being a Maverick. There were a few times where I believe Joe had to collect his thoughts first before he answered.
Both candidates did a good job in their own right.

LMAO @ these comments.
I agree that Palin was all over the place. She didn’t answer not one question directly, however, her strategy was brillant! LOL, she was dodging questions & throwing daggers @ Biden. Bringing up Biden’s own comments about how he’d be honored to run w/ McCain & that Barack wasn’t ready to be President. And also about how, Biden had agreed w/ almost all McCain’s positions until he became VP.
Overall, I think Biden won. He stuck to focusing on how an Obama/Biden ticket differed from a McCain/Palin one. The entire debate was so funny to me. I dunno, I guess I was alone.

That’s good point. Palin kept making references to her experience & what she’s bring to D.C.,
It was big of Biden to give her credit for the things that she did get accomplished in Alaska. Biden mostly kept his attacks on McCain, as opposed to attacking her. Which was a good strategy.

When are people going to realize what’s going on here in this country is not a joke?!!It takes more than having a quick wit and being able to see Alaska from your home to run this country. I don’t know about some people but I’m not looking for someone to make me laugh, I’m looking for someone to help get us out of the economic crisis we’re in. Maybe if Palin were running for VP of the neighborhood high school she’d have my vote, but not to run my country.

How can you says she did a good job when she didn’t answer one question. Biden challenged her on McCain’s record and she didn’t correct him. She just kept going back to what she rehearsed. You can tell either she was reading a teleprompter or her note cards. She had to make sure she hit those items which she was preparing for. I mean if she said surge one more time. Not everyone in America is a Hockey mom. I still don’t think she is a good candidate she is not ready she didn’t make any decisions about the Natinal guard in her state. She couldn’t even say what the Bush Adm. has done wrong.

***that is so true…..cuz i was one of the ppl that felt she didnt do nearly as bad as i expected but then again, she dodged SO many questions. i wanted them both to tell her ass, that wasnt the topic at hand….i mean what killed me is when she stated “i may not answer the way you want me to but i will speak to the american ppl” or sum’n to that nature and that was a got damn cop out…..the ding bat only wanted to speak on what she previously rehearsed….just like matt lauer said on the TODAY show this morning, it was like she CRAMMED b4 a major test…

The debate was excellent. I remained open and I thought Palin did a good job of repairing some of her earlier gaffes, however overall she gave pat answers. There were a couple of questions that she never answered and I didn’t hear a definitive plan about what I heard at times was what her and McCain did in the past.
When asked about the bailout she reverted back to the energy question and was clear and also stuck on the quite awhile on that topicbecause that is her specialty. Other then that nothing else she said was clear. Even when she spoke about what was near and dear to her heart there was no plan.
She was misleading on the questions she did answer in her response about more then a few of Obama’s decisions while in Senate his comments over the course of his career to date. She remained in control, she sounded passionate as she read her notes and she looked directly at the camera which was annoying at times. So she met the expectations as they said but she also said a whole lotta nuttin! lol..
Biden started off a little slow but I liked that he kept the eye on McCain’s policies and proposals. Maybe a little too much at times but he definately drove the key points home about the facts when Palin tended to be misleading. Biden was misleading on a couple of points as well but not as often as Palin.
Anyway, on a whole the debate was interesting. I have a better insight on Palin and who she is as governor and as a potential VP. Because the role of the VP has changed over the last eight years I think Palin would be great in her areas of specialty which is energy and special needs children but as a VP having insight, knowledge and facts about topics across the board or heaven forbid acting President noooooooooo.
Obama/Biden all the way!

She is such a joke and a disgrace to what a true vice president should represent!
I would hate of they do win for anything to happen to ole man McCain because that would mean that she would rule this country…what a tragedy! All she could do was talk about Alaska, energy and drilling…since she did so much for Alaska…go back to being a governor!

Wow I expected you guys to be much harder on her.
Well anyway it’s always funny to read and hear the reports that they did fight enough, I thought this was the first debate I can remenber where they were talking about issues and not each others families, but people dont want to hear that they want some mud slinging. They both almost presented the issues truthfully and if you took everything they said or McCain and Obama said at face value you might want to brush up on the issues yourself. Neither debate made me change my mind I was for McCain before Palin. I’m not sure I would want Joe one heart beat away either, for all the reasons Clinton and Obama said, as well as what he says.
Like I said before who ever wins, this will still be America. Who ever is Presedent is at the will of the congress. I dont see much of a change coming from either person, but I do believe that McCain has more achievable goals than Obama.

Hands down Biden did an awesome job- palin on the other hand was all over the place and shaky when it came time to answer questions. She probably answered two questions but she kept going back to what she was comfortable with. She kept going back to the topic of energy. She has repeatedly said Obama doesn’t have enough experience but she spent alot of time at mccain house for debate boot camp. LOL and a big joke. I was disappointed when palin could not give straight answers about the mccain health plan and the war.
I’m glad the debate ended because at the end biden looked like he was about to go off and send her back to alaska. But I give Palin a “T” for trying and Biden a “C” for keeping his cool when palin keep trying to related to soccer moms

Even when she was asked to answer specific questions she just flat out said no. And she did this cause those answers were not on her little script that she had prepared for her. Palin was not the the best VP pick that McCain could have went with. He obviously picked her for political gain stemming from the whole Hilary/Obama fiasco.
But in terms of the debate. I think she did prove that she was not as lost as many people tried to make her out to be after the whole “Couric” fiasco. She made some good points last night and had a good strategy in her debate.
She is no Harvard grad like our good friend Obama, but she did manage to run a government in Alaska, which is part of our country, despite everyone treating it like a foreign country.

LOL@Angel: “Keep it real, she isn’t ready.. she can’t even bull-shit like a regular politician.”
Let’s face it: she’s not ready, and that’s coming from neither a Democrat nor Republican.
The only reason the whole world is buzzing with her is because she’s considered attractive. She’s not taken seriously, and until she shows that she can actually do what needs to be done and say what needs to be said, she shouldn’t be. She’s nothing more than a piece of eye candy, and it seems to be working to McCain’s advantage because people actually think he has a chance.
This is a woman who can’t name any other landmark Supreme Court case aside from Roe v. Wade. I mean, come on! Plessy v Ferguson? Brown v Board of Education? BAKKE?! None of these ring a bell? C’mon, Sarah, you’ve got to do better. And America has to do better if they actually think that she’s ready.

I thought Palin’s Folk/Hick talk was insulting and pushing towards a “Dumb it Down” strategy to slide through the debate.
Joe Biden really held back in my opinion, but really showed he knew his stuff and didn’t allow Palin to back him into a corner!
All in all both seemed to hold their ground!
But if this was a test of a true Vice President then Joe Biden was the student who did his homework, and paid attention in class; while Palin fumbled and flopped to pull the only all nighter in order to pass!

Anyone who would vote McCain/Palin after her flubs with Katie Couric and Charles Gibson, as well as her circular debate tactics is beyond foolish. McCain is old and sick and she should not be a heartbeat away from Presidency. Historically, president’s who came in that far in age didn’t live past their first term. Sure, Biden would be a heartbeat away as well, but he is obviously more qualified to be in that position than her. But it’s not even about Palin. McCain does not care about normal people like he says. His voting record reflects that. The main reason why he picked Palin was to try to relate to “normal” people and it was a failed attempt. Just because she’s pretty, funny, and jumpier than a jack rabbit in July doesn’t say ANYTHING about her qualifications.
In perspective: Bush’s approval rating is shot to hell. McCain’s campaign still has YET to make a valid number of points where he differs from Bush. Why would the American people want this mess to continue? Maverick my ass! Put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

Wow, where do I begin:
1. I have a HUGE problem with Palin boasting herself and McSame as bringing forth real change in Washington. McSame has been in Washington for 26+ years, how in the hell could anything he bring forth be new? Give me a break.
2. The fact that Palin showed up was a victory for Republicans. Let’s be real people, expectations were extremely low for her and that is NOT something to be proud of.
3. Am I the only one that sees her references to Joe Six-Pack and Hockey Mom’s only encompassing white America? How many black Hockey Moms do you know? I am not saying that they don’t exist, but be real about the fact that the image of an African-American mom doesn’t pop into your head when she (or anybody else for that matter) says ‘Hockey Mom.’
4. With the election 32 days away, when will the McSame campaign reach out to minority voters? The campaign already turned their backs on Michigan. This strategy reminds me of Hillary in the primaries where she abandoned certain Southern states, because they were predominately black. I am proud of the Obama campaign for not, for example, abandoning white males just because he’s black. That is the difference in both campaigns. Obama reaches out to everyone for the greater good of all America, not just wealthy America.
5. Although I respect Gwen Ifill, I was disappointed in her questions that seemed to offer multiple choice options. She gave Palin the opportunity to shuffle for the right note card. Just ask the question and not offer options to the person answering the question.
6. @ Palin Stan - if another person comes down on Obama for his educational background, I will scream. So what he and Michelle are Ivy League educated. I am proud of them both, as well as every other person in this country for overcoming their family of origin. They came from humble beginnings and still had the courage and strength to reach for so much more. That should be applauded and not reduced to one liners labeling them as ‘elistist.’
I shall breath now…oh wait, one more thing - How outrageous of Palin to send a shout out during a debate?! Are you kidding me? Telling third graders (at some school) that they will receive extra credit for watching this debate. Please, please get out and vote America and quickly send this woman BACK to Alaska.

First of all Gov. Palin has been “seqestered” for more than a week cramming information so she doesn’t come accross as a bigger idiot than she already appeared to be after her interviews with Katie Couric. If she had any FUBARS after all of that it would have been time to send her and her tribe back to Alaska!! And if you watch the debate, those were answers very pat “learned” answers, not given from knowlege of her own.
But my question is this, why in order to appeal to the “average” American, do you have to come off sounding like an imbecile?? So in other words they feel Americans need to talked down to, “on their level”?? I’m sorry, I’m not American, but anyone with common sense would have been slightly offended!! And what the hell does “folksy” mean??? If their “ticket” wins is she going to be the “President” of the Senate and lead them with a wink & a smile.
She spent the evening rebuilding her image and not really helping her Principal, she didn’t answer the questions put to her, which is an evasive tactic used by people who want to avoid issues they know nothing about and how can you be #2 and be unable to answer questions on legislation, the economy or what your administration would due in face of the bail out to cut costs?!!!!

Only in America, will we make a virtually uneducated white woman look credible because she showed up and didn’t fall of the stage. She didn’t answer any of her questions. She was very robotic. I’m tired to people saying somehow she recaptured her spirit from the Convention, she didn’t even come close to that person. She continues to deliver stump speech material. Frankly, her performance was an insult. Painful Palin yet again proved that the bar is lower, much lower for white women. Pundits from both camps are saying, “Oh it was close.” HOW. It wasn’t like the Obama/McCain debate where you couldn’t really determine a winner. ALL POLLS have unanimously stated that Biden won, and by at leasta 20% margin. Am I missing something? If Obama got up, and stumbled, and miscalled a leaders name the way Palin did, it would be running on every news channel for weeks.
And, I am tired of this insulting Joe Six Pack analogy. I had better be careful using such a highlevel word the Palin folks because they are obviously skeptical of anyone with education. Why is it that the middle class has to be a “Joe Six Pack.” Why do we think because this woman is a walking nutcase that somehow she connects with the average man. When did it become hot to be average? When did it become a crime to reach the highest levels of education if its possible? I am tired to the nigga mentality that is being displayed by both Democrats and Republicans.

If last night didn’t prove how much this election is, I don’t know what will. PLEASE VOTE AND GET OTHERS TO VOTE!!!!!!
Great job Biden, with sticking to the issues and answering the questions. You could tell at times he was “are you serious, I’m up here debating this?”
Palin, SIT DOWN. The little jokes are cute and all if this was a little high school debate about school lunches, but this isn’t. We have serious things going on in this world and honey your not taking it seriously and your just are not ready! The things she say have no meaning. All she is doing is repeating a scrip. Yea, she passed for her standard, but the election is a month away. If she don’t have it now, she is not going to get it! If this was election for a city mayor or something, yea I just might like her, but this is too big of position for us to sit here and accept the bull crap she is giving us.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE GET REGISTERED TO VOTE AND GET OUT TO THE POLLS TO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think I will ever take Sarah Palin or even John McCain seriously. Sarah Palin failed out of 2 community colleges and now she’s John McCain’s running mate. WTF??? The entire time she was going around in circles with her answers ,she made NO sense. And at the end she says “I enjoyed my time answering all those tough questions”. Oh my god lady go back to Alaska and get a grip on yourself and your family.
Biden did a good job, it seemed like he was trying really hard to understand Palin’s answers, and keeping up when she would run off. Lets rock the vote ppl Obama/Biden ‘08 ….Lord knows we don’t need another republican in office.

Perhpas YOU should review Cnn, because she wasn’t lying when she spoke about Biden’s gaffes. Biden did state (& the McCain camp even used video footage after he was selected for VP) that McCain would make a better commander and chief, and that he would be honored to run w/ McCain. Also stating that Obama was too inexperienced to be President. Biden smiled because he knew she was right.

@ Palin Stan, WTF!!! If you know this what the hell are you on the site for??!!!!!
I AM AND OBAMA STAN!!! Not because he’s black but because I believe in his message, I believe he is genuine and he can definately handle the job, no matter what situation he is faced with!! Further more, I think Sen. Biden is more qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency!!
People always side step the issue, I agree with Whoopi on the View that said the only person qualified to be President is a former President who has done the job and knows what it takes!! That being said, I think Sentors Obama & Biden make a good case for the fact that its time for change, the “regular folk” that “regular Americans” voted for with Bush/Cheney and by extention McCain/Palin have not been a help but a hinderance to Americans!! You are at war facing a deficit and a recession of catastrophic proportions move forward Obama/Biden 08!!

Sarah was successful in winning over the demographic that she was aiming for. 96% of black folks are voting for Obama–regardless if Palin was on point w/ “natural” responses. I’d respect folks more if they’d just admit that they don’t agree w/ what she stands for. But to just blantantly state that she’s inexperienced & doesn’t know what she’s doing, is a lie. This woman has executive experience. Palin has ran a country, balanced budgets & crossed party lines to get legislations passed. But people still doubt her? Why? Because she’s not the best orator? This woman has only been running for VP for the past 5 weeks, Biden has been in politics for the past 30 years, & running for President on & off since since Palin was in the 2nd garde (LOL)! If he would lost to Palin, it would have been an embaressment on his part, he should be well versed on the politics in D.C.
Obama was not the best debater either. Some of those debates during the primaries were an embaressment! I think people should review some of Obama’s earlier performances before they throw dirt on Palin.

So Palin has run a country now? Gaffe much?
and Joe Biden has stepped across the “aisle” many times and he was coherent enough to bring that out numerous times in the debate! To be in these positions, you have to think on your feet and know what you’re talking about; not memorize answers and keep talking about energy!
FYI - I was a Hillary supporter in the primaries and I was undecided until a few weeks ago. What does that tell you? I can think for myself. I am not voting for Obama because he is black. No one is “throwing dirt” on FAILin. She dug her own grave.

@ ANGEL, “That debate was a joke and a waste of time.”
I STRONGLY DISAGREE W/ THIS STATEMENT. I THINK THAT THE COUNTRY NEEDED TO SEE PALIN IN THE CONTEXT OF A DEBATE ALONG W/ THE INTERVIEWS (OR LACK THERE OF.) TO SAY THAT IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME NEGATES THE PROCESS OF ALLOWING PEOPLE TO EXCERSIZE THEIR RIGHT TO CHOOSE BASED OFF OF WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY ABOUT THE ISSUES, BE IT GENUINE OR SPOON FED.
NOW W/ THAT BEING SAID WE CAN ALL CERTAINLY SEE BY WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY HOW READY SHE WOULD BE AS A THE VP. I THINK WITH THE DEBATE FORUM WHAT WAS EVIDENT TO MOST AMERICANS, SHE AS W/ BIDEN, DID A BETTER JOB THAN EXPECTED. EVEN I WAS IMPRESSED W/ HOW SHE CONTAINED HER COMPOSURE. HOWEVER FOR ME, THIS DEBATE JUST EMPHASIZED HER LACK OF EXPERIENCE OF NATIONAL GOVERNING AND REITERATED THE SAME POLITICS OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION SHARED W/ HER RUNNING MATE, JOHN MCCAIN.

At #33 i did notice that and did anyone notice she said the commanding general in afghanistan is General McClellan-wrong McClellan is dead. the commanding gerneral is David McKiernan -for the mccain camp who wants to continue the invasion somebody need to slap her. i understand we all make mistakes but talk what you know. She only reach sports moms not moms who work two jobs just to keep food on the table or the stay at home moms who lost not only their husbands in the invasion but on 9/11 and now have no choice but to go back to work. Palin is so out of touch - My vote is for Obama/Biden because they touch the everyday lives of everybody from the widows to worker class to the single moms going to school and holding down a full time job.

Now this tourettes having idiot gets a pass for everything. They kept saying Biden better not attack her, he better not call her Sarah. The first thing she says,”Can I call you Joe?”. My point was that she’s only been running for this position for the last 5 weeks, and her opponent is someone that has been involved in politics for the last 30 years. Not to mention that he’s been running for President for @ 20 years. She has to combat his knowledge & wisdom somehow. When Obama’s experience was in question, I believe his response (or the response of his supporters) was that he’d surround himself w/ people that were more experienced than him. I guess only Obama is entitled to the benefit of the doubt. SMH

It was OK I suppose. Biden did better, but Palin performed far better than expected. She started off a bit shaky still using her “hockey mom” references but she did respectably and didnt mess up.
Of course the requisite mud slinging at each other’s presidential candidate got out of hand, if you ask me. Sometimes I just wish polliticians could answer a straight question, without letting the focus turn exclusively onto the candidates’ standpoints on various issues.
I really don’t know what changes will be made to the economy, by whoever’s in power, but it’s sure gonna be hard for free-market proponents to forgo that model for America. Deregulated economy has really bit this country in the butt, and serious questions must answered about its failings.

In my opinion, it was a joke and a waste of Biden’s, Gwen Ifills, and personally MY TIME. If she couldn’t answer simple questions during a CBS interview, how did you expect her to do during a debate? Of course we needed to see her in that type of platform and GUESS WHAT? She fell flat on her face. Biden couldn’t even go hard like he wanted to because she was talking in so many circles everyone was confused. She never really answered any questions, she stuck to the script the McCain camp crammed into her head the night before. IT was a damn joke and I was this close to pulling an Elvis and shooting a hole in my T.V.
She did better than expected, because like someone said above, the bar was lowered. Give me a break, people need to get serious and quit giving this woman all these passes.

That Debate I feel was more intresting then the obama mccain debate…..In my opinion Joe Bideon Provided a more solid debate then Palain…Look…This lady got Pimped Royally from Mccain…..Maybe even paid…To think you just pick someone…based solely off the fact that she is a woman…and would take attention away from obama while trying to recieve some of Hilary Clinton’s votes…For her simply being a woman..?
Look..
To me one of the most important votes…IS the black woman vote….As a black woman I feel that he played Palin…He didnt pick her because of her experience(because its very few) Nor based upon her intellegence….(it took her how long and how many colleges to recieve a B.A) …
Change is Obama…He doesnt have alot of experience in some areas…However he has the experience working with the working class americans and working with people who are considered to be at or below the provity line…

You know what I hate? When people like you try to distort the facts to prove your weak point.
Biden spent the last weeks rehearsing with a woman because he is known to be a hard debator and he didn’t want to “hurt her feelings.” He even contacted Hilary for advice on how to debate women. If you noticed when she made the mistake and called the general in Afghanistan McClellan instead of General McKiernan, notice Biden did not correct her; he did not want to come off as condescending. McClellan by the way is Bush’s ex White House Press Secretary. In my opinion, treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower is condescending to women on a whole.

She obviously did better that I expected…that’s for sure.
HOWEVER, a cutesy, charming persona doesn’t make up for her answers!
She stayed on her MEMORIZED talking points…never averted, which I thought was hilarious!…i was making my own personal notes as the debate went on…yeah she stayed in her comfort zone of energy she lacked substantive answers to questions; that she never answered by the way - - it’s almost like she was asked a question and she went with her own topics from her talking points. She hardly refuted any statements from biden, but when she did…it was b/c it was in her comfort zone of talking point topics.
The only thing that resonated with me was her almost convincing relatable personality. - - she definitely “repaired” her image and gave the GOP a beacon of hope…lol But she did enough studying to pass the quiz! Republican’s will always be to me…to have tunnel vision and one dimensional thinking - - they will never bring out the adverse points of the Bush administration nor McCain. This wasn’t the game changer

Also, i have something else to say. So many people talk about, they going to vote for this person and they aren’t t even register. half of these people screaming out obama and this and that…aren’t in the voting books. most don’t know what precient to go to…on election day. I volunteer at one of dc polls for our local election..in september and half of the people in my precient didn’t even show up for that. how can people talk about change and they not even active in their local elections. on top of that, they not even register for the big one in november. what i need people to do is, get register and stop talking about what you all going to do and just do it. Also, when you do register, please no the people on the ballots. You be surprise how many people can’t even say Obama name or know who is running for president.
I’m ashame at Bet for that voting thing last Sat.How are you going to try to get black people to vote, when half the celebriies like pretty ricky aren’t even registrater. i more than disagree that this debate was a waste of time
i guess because i study polisci i look at it a different way…think about it. the point of a vp is to compliment the president. Biden makes up for the weakness of Obama. But Palin doesnt compliment Mccain, Leiberman would have.
But heres the gotcha gotcha…..Palin seemed to be totally setting herself up for 2012. she seemed more interested in her own reputation than Mccains. she has officially made herself a viable candidate for 2012

Palin did much better than was expected of her but the question still remains “has she proven herself as a possible worthy future VP?” My answer would have to be no. While she did not totally mess up, she did an okay job based on what was expected of her. She failed to answer any thing dead on, her rebuttals were very weak when Biden called her out on incorrect information, and she could only speak from a “hockey moms” point of view. Yes, it is great that she can relate to the people but when it comes to an elected official would you prefer someone who knew were they were talking about or someone who knew how to throw out “quirky folksy language” every 30 seconds. I mean the woman actually said “6 pack Joe” WTF. She could offer nothing of what Sarah Palin is willing to do for the country…the only thing she could ever offer is what McCain (not the McCain/Palin ticket) could do. It makes me wonder if she can even think on her own; and for a person to even wonder that about a possible VP is very scary.
As for Biden, I commend him for keeping a level head while debating with someone who apparently was only taught Debate Tactics 101 3 days ago. He answered way more questions head on and had no problem stating that he and Obama may not agree on everything but they have the same common goal. He was very professional in not calling her out on ALL the mistakes that she made (and yes she made many, but few are acknowledging that). He also had know problem stating that “yes, there may be some promises that the Obama/Biden ticket won’t be able to make good on. I love the fact that he even showed a lot of emotion while talking about having to raise his sons. He touched on all issues without having to go back to the same one as a safety net. Basically he proved to me that he is capable of handling the job. Even if Obama/Biden didn’t have my vote before last night they sure got it now.

I get ya all day long. The problem is people will vote for Obama just because and if they have reason to then that a plus. I use to ask why are you voting for Obama and they would say look at the econmoy or I lost my house, but they never told me why Obama. I’ve fell to hear from one person why. Maybe one or two say because he is black and I identfy with him. People are not being real when they say race has nothing to do with it because that just not true. Joe B is not by far the smartest, nor is he the best person to be VP. You got to remenber He’s run for Persident 3 time. and never got close in the primaries. Be people ignore the fact that nearly everyone in the Dems party thinks he would not make a good president ( that includes Obama) and no one questions that. No one has asked Obama why he would pick some one whom he has said himself would take washington in the wrong direction. So with that said I think He and Palin are about neck in neck. He just has a lot more to say.
I think that both sides are not being truthfully, and who knows palin might be the Truman of our time. Not to mention the fact it is so unlikely that McCain will die. hello this is not 1803, people are living a lot longer.
And to who ever said ” the black women’s vote is the most important vote” LOL. I feel you I’m a black woman too mother, wife, and Vet. and I can promis you that is so not true. It sound good but there has never been an election where the black female vote swayed the out come. The fact is that Religious people be them Rep or Dems determine out comes of elections. I belong to many Black female social groups and I can tell you never had a political guest speaker. Go to church often and and have switched church because politicans cant stay out of there.
So who ever wins I pray for them and hope that God is with them. But I will vote For McCain. I believe in his platform cant say the same about Obama. It not what he says because he a good speaker but when I go after the speech and look to the platform, figures, and overall message I just cant get behind it.

I would have to say, I enjoyed watching the VP debates more than the presidential debates. Not because it had more substance, but because it was entertaining via Palin. I found her childish antics (i.e. winking and her lack of sophisticated vocabulary) humorous. At times when Biden was smiling, I wished I posessed the ability to read minds; if so, I bet Biden was thinking, ” Why is she a candidate?” The only information that Palin was more than willing to talk about was taxes and energy. Even when the moderator asked different questions, she dodged them in an attempt to connect with the “American People” and talk about what she knew…taxes and energy. Obviously, she was rehearsed and somewhat scripted, for she lacked in depth knowledge on a plethora of various subjects.
Either way, it didn’t sway my voting choice…it just gave me a great laugh for the day

I am offended that u think that ALL black people are voting for him b/c he is black!!!!!! I believe in his vision, he is more in touch with my views. John McCain doesn’t even know how many homes he owns, so what does he and I have in common? NOTHING, I need someone who understands my day to day struggles of being a single working mother. Sarah Palin just doesn’t appeal to me. I watched how Joe Biden was choked up last night talking about his kids and the struggles he had to face. I know Obama gets it b/c he had to live it. McCain married someone with money and thinks middle class is someone who makes 250,000.00 a yr. I don’t know any “middle class” people making that much a yr.

#33 - I totally heard her say that and I was cracking up! Lucky for her it was a cute mistake though.
#57 - Yes, I feel you!
It’s one thing to open up and be vulnerable to connect with people on a human level, but it’s another thing to keep it so “real” that it’s goes wrong! And Palin’s “folksy” manner was way overexaggerated. I know she was trying to appeal to a certain segment of America, but let’s face it- that segment she is trying to appeal to were probably already going to vote for McCain regardless.
Would she go into a job interview using such colloquial language?!?! If Obama said things like “that’s what’s up”, “what’s really good”, “holla back”, or something of that nature, DESPITE BEING AN IVY LEAGUE GRAD he would have gotten blasted for sounding uneducated, unpolished, “ghetto” and every other disparaging name in the book. Don’t get me wrong, I like to see glimpses of vulnerability and realness in people- it shows that they are down to earth. But when it’s time to be serious, I don’t want cutesy light-hearted phrases and jokes. I want professionalism.
I have to say though, Biden most effective (and unintentional) statement of the night was when he addressed Palin about knowing what it’s like to be a single father and worry about the future of his family. He got a bit choked up talking about it and THAT moment was REAL. It wasn’t manufactured folksy-ness. That’s what people want appreciate.

Palin is beyond out of her league. She crammed two weeks in advanced, for the exam and didn’t come out on top.. Her tutor should be fined. Palin did horribly and I say that because I didn’t expect her to fail like most people did. The recent interviews she gave, allowed people to think low of her and what she was going to bring to the debate. So I knew she was going to be prepped for certain things to discuss during the debate. Most things she had NO KNOWLEDGE of at all… She didn’t say anything along the lines of how her and McCain will better our economy or even how the Bush Administration is different from McCain/Palin administration. That just shows that their in this together and the same treatment that The US have received for 8 years is the same treatment we will receive if McCain/Palin is elected.
People you must think beyond being a democrat and being a republican. Think like a INDEPENDENT and think about which administration is going to help you, your family, and those that you love, and especially the world as a whole. Who do you think will better our economy, who do you think will not only think about people with power but those that don’t have power as well, who do you think will make it as though lower and middle class people get the opportunity to be heard, who do you think will bring this country to better place something we haven’t seen in eight years????
We have a chance to make a difference in this country and we need a leader that’s going to do the best thing for EVERYONE and not just with those with power.

This debate was Hilarious. I’ll applaud Sarah on looking great. She didn’t answer answer any questions and even when Joe Biden made a factual error she didn’t even correct him. Perhaps it was because she didn’t know. I use to do pageants when Ii was in high school and it was funny to see her use the same tactics you would use in a pageant for this debate:
-Make eye contact with your viewers instead of the other contestant to create a personal relationship.
-A simple wink of an eye will capture your audience and gain points with the judges.
-Body language use is very important ie: the forward motion of the shoulders, the turn of the body frame, etc.
Joe Biden looked bored like when are you really gonna give me something to talk about. I wish he had caught her in her mistakes and exposed them, but everytime a man does that to her he is referred to as being “sexist” All of her statements were easily scripted and well practiced because she knew what to say and how to not answer questions. If Hillary had been Obama’s running mate this lady would’ve never been called as a VP. She was only brought in to make McCain appeal younger and to sway the upset women who wanted Hillary to win. My very important question: Since when does having a Harvard degree, understanding the judicial system, being a senator, etc. makes you nothing compared to a survivor of war (not a hero)? Had the roles been switched, Obama would’ve been called uneducated, inadament of speech, “he only went to war probably to get by going to jail”, etc. while McCain would’ve been called this great Amaerican who went to an Ivy League school and things. I never understand how Obama is called an elitist because he went to an Ivy league, and a socialist because he can speak well.

first of all i find it odd that people about worrying about mc cain dying in office…lol mc cain has better than the average young african american…trust me on that one, besides its very hypocritical for some of you to use age as an excuse then you turn around and say “we love the lord“, if you love the lord then you should have known that only those folks who are fortunate to have abundant blessings from God can live long enough, mc cain is 72 and he is touring this country like rock star on a concert tour, give me a fucking break………!
either blacks want to admit it or not, the majority vote for this man because of his “empty speeches“ and because he`s black, i even know a good number of black women who will vote for him because he has a “black wife“, so race will be an important factor in this election, dont get mad at white folks, check yourselves

People kill me with the stuff about McCain’s age. I wonder what the over/under is on a bet between a McCain death or an Obama assassination during their prospective “presidential tenure”, lol? Or a staged Obama assassination? These presidents receive medical care to the Nth degree and most of them live well into their late 80’s/early 90’s. McCain’s age should be the least of anyone’s worries. The people that he works for should be who gives people worries. What should make people that believe in this system worry even more is that he and Obama have the same bosses.

Age is a factor, this man will not release he medical records to show. Not thinking about his age makes a person ignorant, this is something to consider. Palin is a joke! she managed to put a town of 9000 people in debt by $20mil, Palin does not believe in abortion in cases of insest and rape (she said if her daughter was pregnant by rape she would keep the baby), Sarah Palin’s husband will use Alaska oil to benefit his pockets as a BP employee, Sara Palin is against sexual education (but her daughter is pregnant), Sarah Palin does not know what magazine or newspaper she reads, Sarah Palin cannot name a singel supreme justice ruling that she is against, Sarah Palin believes withdrawing troops will throwing in the white flag, Sarah Palin is lying about that baby being hers, Sarah Palin believes the world is meant to end soon.

Further, don’t you dare insult the intelligence of African-Americans across this country by stating that we are only voting for Barack because he is black. I don’t care what color he is, this country needs a strong leader that is interested in bringing everyone together. The only ticket that fits that bill is the Obama/Biden ticket. #97 Great answer and synopsis. I too agree.
In my opinion, Palin get’s an F. Palin was ill prepared and did not answer many of the questions she was asked. Instead she kept her focus on the “joe six packs and hockey moms” of America that were already going to vote for McCain regardless.
Frankly, she could have used this debate to her benefit if she actually tried to reach out to the milions of Americans who are either unsure about her or who DONT fit the “joe six pack/ hockey mom” demographic.
Instead of redirecting most of the questions back to energy, taxes, mavericks, or hockey moms she could have redirected them towards issues such education and health care. Let’s be real these are important key issues that affect ALL americans not some.
I can’t help but feel like McCain-Palin are ignoring a large number of Americans including myself who are young, intelligent, and educated. That FRIGHTENS me!
Republicans should really be disapppointed in themselves for nominating Palin as VP. The woman has no class and hoenstly she is not “cute” as many people say.
If republicans really wanted to give Obama-Biden a run for their money they really should have came stronger with the VP nominee. Seriously, after Bush you would think they would come tighter and more prepared ….

Let’s talk about Cindy McCain funding the prescription drug companies, or lets talk about her addiction to prescription drugs. White people have drug problems too such as coke, meth, and prescription drugs. Yes, black do have a history of voting for Democrats, which is why I wasn’t initially that surprised that blacks were supporting Obama. However, when I started seeing a flood of emails circulating that “blacks needed to stick together & vote for the first black President who’s articulate & qualified–oh & a black wife”, I became a little suspicisious. Not only that but, during the primaries black Republicans (or friends of HRC for years) were guilted by the Obama campaign (altho unofficially, because he’s sneaky like that) to vote for Obama. I mean after all how could (or why would) blacks miss an opportunity to make history w/ a black man?
All in all, I think its a little bit of both. I think blacks are supporting Obama because he’s black (articulate, black–dark skinned wife, Harvard grad etc.,) and because he’s a Democrat. (Which blacks have a history of supporting, due to socialism).

I will not lie at one point I was just voting for Obama because he was bi-racial. However after listening to what he thinks and the changes he wants to make. I am behind Obama 100%. I think Palin is an air head if she was blond I would actually be more understanding but she isnt. There were far better people that Mccain could have chosen to be VP. She doesnt seem to have a back bone so her VP position is just to fill a seat it was a gimick McCain used to try to get women voters.
On the debate she is an idiot instead of answering the questions she was asked she was talking about other stuff. I seriously think that she is on some type of prescription drugs. Theres just something off about her. Palin has said that she is into pro life 100% So much that if a women is raped that she should not be allowed to have an abortion. So imagine this ladies your out and about or a man breaks into your home and rapes you, gets you pregnant and you have to keep a baby that looks like both Carrot Top and Chris Tucker! Thats crazy.

@ *sigh* - While I understand what you are saying and respect your opinion, my response to Pete did not deny that African-Americans have a history of voting for Democrats. What I intended to point out was that not every African-American is voting for Barack JUST because he’s black. There are plenty of African-American Republicans across this country that will support the McSame/Plain (misspelled on purpose) ticket. It has been well documented, in the NY Times (a liberal media outlet), that Republican blacks have felt pressure to support Obama because he is black. Where do you think that pressure is coming from? It’s unofficially coming from Obama’s campaign. This is what folks aren’t understanding, race is a bigger issue than people wanna admit to. Obama pretends to be this candidate that transcends color lines, yet, he’s the first (unofficially though) to guilt major black political figures to support him. I could go on and on, but if you don’t get or understand what I’m saying, then you never will.

I heard that there was going to be a race riot if the Sean Bell cops were exonerated and you could’ve heard a damn needle drop into a cotton ball after the judgement was read. You negroes will do what you usually do if Obama gets assassinated: throw tantrums, complain, curse, make signs, march with Rev. Al, and forget it all. First off, the black community is lead by these black women and they don’t want to see the white man fall. Secondly; the black man has become a weak, effeminate, non-thinker that smiles as he watches his women gallivant around with the men of the other races. Thirdly, the white man will not fall through the gun. The gun and rule through violence was his blessing. There will be a race war though. That is Bible prophecy.

sorry, but i’m about to write a novel here…..
I just finished watching the Vice Presidential Debates and I’m shocked into stupor!!! Where did the incoherent, confused, buzz-word-regurgitating Sarah Palin go???
I was on the edge of my seat in the minutes before the debate started, anticipating her blunders and hilarious quotables… but they were few and far between.
In her interview with Katie Couric, her syntax was nearly unintelligible. The transcript of the speech was appalling to read. It was like Governor Palin couldn’t hear a question, decode it, formulate an answer and phrase it articulately. I honestly thought there was something lacking in her grasp of the English Language.
BUT SOMEHOW… she has come back from what I thought was an irreparable abyss and actually did well. I don’t like rooting for others to embarrass themselves, but I think she FAR exceeded everyone’s expectations and proved, at the least, to be a competent linguist. Then again, it’s not hard to improve when there’s nowhere to go but up.
That said, we do not chose which Presidential Ticket to support based on who is the least confused or most articulate. While Palin surprised me with her lucidity, I vehemently disagree with the vast majority of the McCain/Palin platform.
I believe that Joe Biden knocked it out of the park. He stayed on topic with each question, where Palin, when flustered, always veered back to her comfort zones (her experience as a mayor/governor of Alaska and her energy policies). Biden’s answers were passionate and concise; he was clear and easy to understand. Palin and her attempts to be perceived as ‘ONE OF US’ were CUTE, but I’ll pass on the colloquialisms and take some real substance. I think its great that she was able to channel her personality into her responses - which is in direct opposition to her robotic spewing of key terms to Katie Couric - but charisma and charm do not a candidate make.
The Republic Party often criticizes Obama for being PROFESSORIAL, as they term it. They think he’s condescending and elitist. My question is: what is wrong with being well-informed, well-spoken and intelligent. I prefer that over the often folksy caricature that is Sarah Palin.
Joe Biden debated the issues. He tore down McCain’s adherence to the Bush Doctrine and the Bush Policies that have gotten us into the mess that we’re in. Palin debated to regain her own credibility…. that wasn’t the purpose of the night.

Come on people, the bar was set so low for Palin to where all she had to do was trip and she would fall over it. And trip she did! She was decent at the debate, but she did not WIN the debate. Joe Biden was sharp, he was quick and he was on the right side of the issues.
For JA to condone this INCOHERENT and SEVERELY IRRESPONSIBILE choice for a VP by John McCain is fascinating. You talk about people being young, well young people like myself, and those whom are younger — they get it!
Cast your vote for McCain if you like, but have a box of tissues next to the couch, bed, or in the center of the kitchen table on November 4th, I have a feeling you’ll need it, because if there is one thing thats clear. Obama will occupy the Oval Office for the next 8 years.

Payedhim has set women back and she does not represent me and what I believe in. Why was she trying to ban Why a Cage Bird Sings by Maya Angelou? Honestly guys, I don’t recall Sarah Palin being as bad as you all are making her out to be. I felt like she was very informative to a certain extent and so was Biden. I also think she did better than Biden, only because of her reaction towards the questions because to me, they both had their superior times, and their not so great times. It was 50/50 in my opinion. But the way Palin delivered her answers were very smooth and calm, so she won it for me. Biden seemed a little uncomfortable at times. You also say she seemed so rehearsed, what? Rehearsed? If she went up there stumbling, you all would have been on her ass either way, regardless of how she answered the questions it would never been to you all’s satisfaction.
And to Angel, and some of you….Did you really say Sarah Palin was not READY for office? R-E-A-D-Y? I honestly find it so impossible to believe that Obama supporters dare accuse someone else of not being ready.

Palin avoided most questions, stretched the truth several times and pushed out corny jokes to re-claim her barracuda title back. Biden won. That’s it, that’s all.

I don’t think you guys are being fare. OF COURSE Biden did better in your opinion because, he is with Obama. None of you can really sit there and tell me the Palin did not do well! It astounds me because you all are acting like Palin is such this cruel person and would not allow one positive comment to cross your mind about her. Last night, I eliminated the thought of who I wanted to win with really just listening. Yes, I am Independent and both Obama and McCain make good points along with Palin and Biden. I did want Biden, and expected Biden, to win last night but from my view, he wasn’t that great. He didn’t do as good as I thought he would and I’m being honest. Some of you will never been knocked off Obama even if he blew up the Statue of Libirty right infront of you. It is just excuse after excuse, like honestly, just because you WANTED Biden to win doesn’t mean anything. You all are acting like Palin was completely wrong, she did horribly….C’mon people, let’s grow up.

@Sigh
A woman’s right to “choose”? A woman’s right to “choose” is only relevant in a society where there is no order and whoredom and whoremongering are encouraged, i.e. America. What about a man’s right to “choose”? Does the child only become his after it is born? According to who’s standards of life and death? We “choose” what we put on in the morning, what direction we walk or drive, or what we eat.You don’t “choose” whether a child lives or dies. Either you agree to murder the baby or not. A woman’s chance at “choosing” came before she laid down with that man. The whole “Roe vs. Wade” case is linked to the feminist movement and the systematic destruction of the household by encouraging disenchantment amongst women and it has worked. Honestly speaking, 99% of women are allegedly “empowered” and they’re still unhappy. Especially black women who are remarkably, unerringly, unhappy and malcontent. They spend their lives trying to compete with the boys because this society has convinced them that being a woman is not good enough. This is why marriages don’t last. Marriages, like pregnancies are viewed as things that are not serious and can be repaired, altered, or eradicated based on what that woman feels from moment to moment. Plus, women usually want to get married because they’re bored, want something to do, and want something that will glorify themself for however long the wedding planning and event lasts. Obviously, there are many men that encourage women to have abortions and the same rules apply but you asked me about a “woman’s right to choose” so that’s the perspective that I’m addressing.
From the spiritual perspective, the reason why America also encourages abortion is because Satan needs the blood of children to sustain his kingdom. Palin, McCain, and these guys are playing a role. They could care less if abortion is repealed and I’d be shocked if it ever was. All ancient empires engaged in ritual child sacrifice to their pagan gods and America is no different. These politicians, entertainers, and financial elite worship the owl god known as Moloch out in California in Bohemian Grove (Lev 18:21, Jer 32:35, etc.). I know that I may lose a few people but that’s alright, lol.

People open your eyes!!! This woman is running for Vice President of one of the most powerful countries in the world. We should not have to lower our standards or expectations of her (or any candidate for that matter) simply because she is a naive polotical newcomer. Palin is not ready to lead this country, and she showed it by her flagrant inability to answer simple questions asked of her. Who cares if her interviews with Katie Couric led us to have low expectations of her? All it shows is that she is a reckless, ignorant individual who lacks the ability to think for herself and has to resort to prescripted lines on energy, Alaska, energy, Alaska, more energy and more Alaska to even sound remotely intelligent.

You can choose not to have sex at all.But how can killing your baby be a choice you think you should have the right to make? Women get mad at me all the time for feeling this way.

I can sit her and tell you Palin did not do well. The only questioned she answered was regarding her not believing in gay marriages, other than that she bullshitted. Her debate was rehearsed and fake, and she has no clue of what she is talking about.
At least Obama is a Senator of a state, Palin is the Governor with foriegn policy experience because Russia flies over her airspace and she can see it. The Katie Couric Sarah is the real Sarah Palin, a lady who could not come up with a Supreme Court decision that she agrees or disagrees with, even though she forgot about the Exxon rulling because of the spill in Alaska (over 30m gal. spilled) Sarah could not even name a mangazine or newspaper that she reads……but yet some of you think she will be a good VP. At least Obama knows what he is talking about and he is educated, Law Degree from Harvard. and Biden has great foreign policy experience. Imagine Sarah being VP and going over to other countries winking, and snapping her fingers. Did you see when she met with the world leaders they were flirting with her, because this is what she give off a Flirty Sarah Palin to get her way.
Let’s also talk about how McCain recently changed his them to CHANGE, does this sound familiar? Now McCain/Palin is about change? But they still think in the past, Palin doesnt believe your daughter should have an abortion if her uncle got her pregnant.

Why is it that it is always the SAME people that come on this site trying to argue with people over Obama? You people know that the majority of the people that come here support the man, so why continue to get your panties in a bunch and waste your time about arguing with them about McCain? If people don’t like McCain/Palin..then they don’t like McCain/Palin and there isn’t a damn thing you can say that will get them to change! If you want to hear good things about them go to a site that supports them!!
And it is also the same people that start the “race wars”…GET A LIFE and quit preeching a bunch of nonsense over the internet. I can only imagine what some of your lives are like because of how much time you waste spreading garbage over online everyday, just pathetic. this is my first time ever commenting on a post but i couldn’t resist d urge.
i for one believe in agreeing to disagree and so i respect everyone’s opinion on this post except that of JUDAH’S! or whatever he is called.
quite frankly SIR b’cos i bet my bank account on d fact that u are a grumpy old frustrated idiot who thinks everything less of himself and feels d need 2 bring down his own identity or whatever he is affiliated with.
that assassination comment was totally unncessary and u know it. now before u go on callin me a negro or whatever, bear in mind that i am NOT African American so anything u say will basically ensue nothing but hilarity 2 me.
i just feel bad for d african american population! really i do! i cringe at the thought of ur population never ever moving forward and part of the reason can be attributed 2 articulated, well spoken, educated, frustrated maggots like Judas who will not leave THE SLAVE MENTALITY alone. and believe it or not an obama assassination will not be taken likely.
i laugh @ the thought of not voting obama in d office…not b’cos he’s black but b’cos he’s probably d closest 2 a new generation of hope ur generation will ever see.
believe it or not, i was skeptical of the man b’cos he is black but there should not even be a question as to who would make a better president btwn Mccain and him.
with all that said, i rest my case. Barack d vote if ya will or heck Palin d vote, @ d end of the day, u have d choice of moving 4ward or not.

I can sense Palin ‘12 signs showing up in the next 4 years, with the way she was boasting herself and talking about what SHE has done for Alaska and her plans and whatnot. Seriously though, I’m scared as hell thinking about how close this woman is to the presidency. If Mccain won and something happened to him, this woman would be our president. Scary thought, huh? How will she handle the economy, foreign policy, war, etc. Being the governor of alaska is a lot different than being president of the United States of America.

If a medical student was extremely weak in physiology and consequently COULD NOT pass the boards, would we lower the bar? NO
If a law student was weak at writing and public speaking, would a law firm LOWER THE BAR for that candidate? NO
So, why are we lowering the bar for the V.P. Position?
I’m two years removed from college, and this is the first election I’ve truly followed. Sadly, I’m very dishearten by what I see. It seems to me that people are more concerned about putting their political parties first over the well being of country. Personally, I think Obama will win this November. However, the audacity of the GOP allowing this radical pick to fly literally SCARES ME. I will continue to pray.

@ Palin Stan
Let’s be real. She didn’t say “This is to all the mom’s out there!” She said “hockey moms” Palin was specific and that gives people a feeling of being ‘left out’. Like the comment she made about Biden not knowing what it’s like to raise children alone. That hurt Biden’s feelings. That wasn’t toward race…it was toward sex. Everyone knows that man is a single parent, and why. And why should she know better than he? Her husband is a stay at home dad, supposedly. Plus, I didn’t like the way she commented on letting gay couples be able to see each other in hospitals. “No. That would lead to them wanting gay marriage.” What! Is she sick?! Anyone in there time of need should be able to see the one’s closest to them.
No one’s saying she’s a racist! But everything points to her being “prejudiced” and that is why we want change. Please don’t let this prejudiced woman into the white house.
Secondly, what makes her call herself middle class? I’m either confused or she is.

Pass it on.
Please, please advise everyone you know that they absolutely can NOT go to the polls wearing any Obama (or whoever you are voting for) shirts, pins, hats, etc. It is AGAINST THE LAW and will be grounds to have the polling officials to turn you away. This is considered campaigning and no one can campaign within X amount of feet of the polls. They are banking on us being overly excited and not being aware of this long standing law that you can bet will be ENFORCED THIS YEAR!!!!!
They are banking that if you are turned away, you will not go home and change your clothes and return to the polls to vote. Please just don’t wear ANY gear of any sorts to the polls! Please share this information with as many people as you can. If you are already aware of this, please don’t take it as insulting your intelligence.
Have a great day and see you at the polls on or BEFORE November 4th.

Palin may have redemed herself since the Katie Couric interview, but she still has proved that she is NOT READY to be VICE PRESIDENT. She needs to go back to her “tiny” town in Alaska and continue Governing there & killing Mooses & ice fishing with her family & towns people. Its funny how she & McCain are so quick to say how Obama is so “in-experienced & lacks experience” but what experience does this Palin chick have other than Governing a town that isn’t even half the size of Brooklyn! Her tired rehearsed lines & eye winks, & rehearsed answers, and fake smiles made her look like a babbling fool! Biden blew her ass out the water (clearly the winner of the Debate)
Its amazing how easily sucked into this womans FAKE smile, & phony Persona. It amazes me how some women look up to that woman, as if she is some type of super hero for all women. BS!!! Some folks can’t see past the glossy lipstick, and mascara. This ELECTION is a NO-BRAINER!!

I’m just ticked that the media isn’t bashing and ripping up her every word. If she had been Barack Obama they would bagger her 24-7. Just goes to show that the gov’t thinks we’re lame, sure just throw some lily white of white woman in their faces and they’ll love her. Not. Palin just showed me how royally fake a white woman could be. She had this silly smirk on her face whenever she couldn’t answer a question. Sord of like that smirk you get from a white woman a bank when she’s turning down your loan. Obama08 or suffer the consenquences.
