Ciara holds her award at the 3rd Annual Billboard Women in Music Breakfast at the St. Regis Hotel on Friday in New York City.
The singer/dancer received the Woman Of The Year Award, which honored her success as a recording artist and leadership in embracing the changing music scene. Other honorees included, singers: Colbie Callait and Debbie Harris.
Ciara also turned 23 yesterday, so Happy Belated Birthday to her!

Ok, let me clear it up for the dummies. It says the award if for, “a recording artist and leadership in embracing the changing music scene.” Rihanna is sitting on top of the billboard charts, but if u can read that has nothing to do with the award. It has nothing to do with popular music; but, more so being a leader, like working hard, and having inspirational, motivating music. Ciara has done that, if u listen to her music, and she works extra hard. Yall can’t be critics if yall don’t listen to her material, so come correct, before coming at all. Rihanna music is not all that inspirational, and neither is a lot of other artist. That’s why Ciara, not anyone else, received the award. Some of yall need to go back to the early stages of grade school, and learn how to read, and read the context clues, main ideas, and support, cause it’s sitting right there. The significance of these awards is lowered when Ciara is named “woman of the year!” That means that the organization believed that there were no other women in the world that contributed more to society. It’s all about politics and who pulls the strings behind the scenes.
