My inbox was going off yesterday about the promotional e-mails about the new single from Ludacris’ new album, Theater of the Mind, which drops November 25th. I always dig Ludacris because of his energy, but a lot of times, his delivery always feels the same to me. The new album is said to be more theatrical, which I actually kind of feel from this track, but something about it just sounds like something he’s already done before. But this should be good for radio with T-Pain on it – always singing about some darn drinks!

Here’s a bonus track from Jennifer Hudson’s album, which dropped last Tuesday. Even though I like the way this song feels, I can definitely see why it was left off the album. I really think that she did a good job with the delivery, because usually, I don’t really go up for Jennifer Hudson ’cause she is all over the place vocally sometimes. I do like this track though, the production is really nice. I like the background vocals too, which are obviously not her.
♫ Akon feat. Lil’ Wayne – I’m So Paid (full) – listen
New track from Akon’s upcoming third album, Freedom, due out November 25th. The song features labelmate and friend Lil’ Wayne. Admittedly, I’ve never been a fan of Akon’s material, mostly just the tracks he writes and produces for other people, but I really love the production of this song. The track just feels good. Akon’s first single, “Right Now (Na Na Na)” debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
♫ Thunderkatz – 3 AM (full) – listen
We haven’t heard anything from our friends the Thunderkatz in a long time! But I’m really loving this new track that band has sent. The Thunderkatz are releasing “3 AM” as their new single, and are still working on their album with The Inc/Motown-Universal. I’ve really been into dance music lately, so this is right up my alley. The song’s a lot of fun. Check out the Thunderkatz on their MySpace.

I’m very eclectic with my music, but I wasn’t really digging 3 AM, maybe I should hear it maybe about 10 more times, to think more of it. But I’m not hype about these songs. The one by Jennifer Hudson was alright though.
Okay Brian I usually don’t go off and rip your opinion but how can you say Jennifer Hudson vocally “is usually all over the place” and rep it “HARD” for Solange who can barely carry a note. And yes I understand tonation, pitch etc, but let them sing the same song and then talk to me. OMG…

JHud’s song was really good. This is the main direction I think she should have went on her album. Maybe if she did that, it wouldn’t have been such a disappointment. I listened to the Thundacatz song too. BIG WOMP!!!! I didn’t listen to the other songs because T-Pain is overrating himself and Akon I could never stand….

Damn that J.Hud song was the shit!!!!!!!! I like her cd, it took a minute to grow on me and after I stop killing Jazmine Sullivan’s cd (her shit is hot my song of the day is Fear) but anyway kool J hud song and cd. I will always support her cuz the lady can SANG and we need more of that in the industry. Too many wack non-talented people running around here lol. The other songs were a YAWN especially Akon and ShiT-Pain

its hot. i think the reason some ppl aint feelin akon as much as they was before is cause he’s obviously in a different chapter in his life. when he came out wit locked up, thats the kinna shit that he was on, thats what was goin on in his life. i think akon’s that kinna person. you can kinna tell what they all about by listenin to their music.
