Check out this snippet of new material from Rihanna, who, while still promoting Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (she’s releasing a video for “Rehab,” the Timbaland-produced track and collaboration with Justin Timberlake), is in the recording process for her fourth studio album. Given the articles and interviews that Rihanna has had recently, this doesn’t really line up with the direction that she was talking about. But we’ll see.

I’m happy that Fefe Dobson is still doing her thing. “Pepper Spray” is new material from her, and she’s been rumored to be releasing a new album at the top of 2009. I’m glad too, considering that her sophomore album, Sunday Love was never released. I’ve been fan of Fefe’s for quite some time, and “Pepper Spray” is a little different direction than what I’m used to for her. It’s more ska inspired than her earlier material.

I really like Keyshia Cole on this hook. That’s really the only part I was checking for. Apparently, this was originally slated to be on the singles from Akon’s next album, Freedom, due out November 25th. I’m not sure how radio-friendly or catchy the song is. I think that Akon had some better songs in the pot to choose from, which is why this song got scrapped for single selection, but I actually really like how Keyshia sounds.

Upon first seeing the title of this song, I had a feeling that it was going to be about exactly what I thought it was about. Didn’t Bobby V. see that it didn’t work for Ray Lavender with “My Girl Got A Girlfriend?” It’s so funny that people glamorize this in songs, as if it happens in the average person’s real life. I’m a little disappointed. I hope this isn’t what Bobby comes with for this new album he’s about to drop.

I love Fefe, and like the track. I cant believe how badly she was treated by Def Jam, the music business is a biatch. Pepper spray is more of an album filler, not a “single” song.
Although Rihanna has not got a great voice, I did see her live at a concert and she surprised me with both the singing and dancing. She was actually quite good, but this was back during her last album- during the SOS days.
And why does Beyonce have to be mentioned in every post, since when does she define the standard of an artist. She is a decent singer and dancer, but she’s no Tina Turner or Mariah, so I still don’t get what the hype is all about. Both Bey and Rihanna need to learn to take breaks, its a bad idea for Rihanna to release a new album in a few months, people will get sick of her.

People should get used to her being the next big thing because she is actually bringing the hit. What some of you fail to realize it that music lovers love when new artist do a remake of an older hit song or do a version of an older song. Why get mad when Rihanna does a song that sounds like a Prince song? Beyonce’s “Be With You” was a remake. Lil Wayne does remakes and uses the same lyrics in every song he makes. Singers bite other singers/rappers music. T.I. has a song called “Swagga Like Us” which uses M.I.As “Paper Planes” song which is major swagga jacking because both songs are currently charting. Thats who yall should be mad at, but instead yall support him in everything that he does and keep making him #1. Rihanna has accomplished so much in a matter of 2 years. 2x platinum album which has sold 6.2 million world wide, 4 #1 singles from that one album alone, and another one on the way, plus she has a #1 single with T.i. Rihanna is BANK and Def Jam knows it.

I wasn’t on CL when Diddy dropped “Last Night” but was people going hard at him for sounding like Prince? For the young pop group they might not be familar with Prince’s song so all this comparing Ri ri to him is going straight over their heads.
