♫ THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW ♫

♫ Ciara feat. T-Pain & Gorilla Zoe – Go Girl (Remix) (full) – listen
There’s a remix for “Go Girl” already! I’m not sure who’s behind the production, but it still features T-Pain and they added a touch from Gorilla Zoe. Even though I’m not really fond of the original version, the video has increased my liking for the song a little bit. She looks amazing in that video, but for some reason, the song still just sort of leaves me cold, but it’s been growing on me. In any event, check out this remix.

♫ Mya – Paradise (full) – listen
Mya is releasing a new album in Japan called Sugar & Spice. I don’t know, I’m a little skeptical. Especially since Mya’s last album, Liberation was only released in Japan and released two singles failed singles (“Lock U Down” and “Ridin’”). I used to really be a Mya fan and was happy for her when she started doing Chicago, because I thought that would help give some life to her career, but I’m not really feeling this song at all.

♫ Jagged Edge – Locked Out (full) – listen
Check out this new song from Jagged Edge, “Locked Out.” Now, I personally haven’t been a fan of Jagged Edge for a minute, just because I feel like they’ve been sounding the same for years… all of their albums from the last several years have sounded the same to me. But I guess if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. “Locked Out” is produced by Bryan-Michael Cox and has that classic Bryan sound. I’m interested to see if they’re going to use him for the majority of their album.

♫ Usher – Hush (full) – listen
Another track for the Here I Stand sessions leaked over the weekend. This is Usher’s “Hush.” Vocally, I like what Usher is doing, because I definitely didn’t like the majority of the material from his last album. “Hush” a pretty political track, not what I would usually expect from Usher. And it really doesn’t fit in with the overall themes in Usher’s Here I Stand. But if they’re still planning this rerelease for the album (where Usher is supposedly working with Justin Timberlake), maybe this will appear on the disk.

  2. KOKOKOKOK

oeee finally first place!! victory dance :P

  3. cocoa49

sorry ciara…don’t like it…..and how do you make a remix of a song that never was good from the beginning? liked all the other songs.

  4. Chris

All the songs are garbage, and everyone will continue to release GARBAGE SONGS!! Why?? Because for some strange bizarre reason everyone think POP is what’s hawt!! Please I beg the industry to go back to the classic and long lasting sounds/theme of the 90′s. Most of the new shit now is only club bangers, and would never have a spot in my iPod. That space is reserved for the real sh!t. This POP ERA needs to hit the road! That’s why a lot of good artist are fading away. Music!!!AHHH!!

  5. 69

I liked Ushers track.I love Mya,but that chick has no luck when it comes to her music career.and its a shame because shes very talented.

  6. JA JA

Will MYA ever make a come back?? Doubt it.

  7. Shaun

Mya’s song Paradise is only geared toward an Asian audience. Not an American Audience. I don’t care for it too much, but I think it will work for that audience.

  8. Shawn

Usher’s CD is a slept on album. Sorry folks, but Usher grew up on this CD, “Here I Stand”. He can not remain a boy for life. This CD shows his maturity and I love it. Let’s stop pigeon holding him to one type of sound…

  9. MRSJONES3

THE ONLY SONG I LISTENED TO WAS MYA’S, AND I’M A FAN, BUT WAS SHE SERIOUS?? THAT SONG IS EXTREMELY CORNY

  10. MsSvelteNY

Mya – get that Yen. The US dollar aint worth chit. (just in case anyone hasn’t heard) Mya needs that machine behind her to make her successful. She’s so shy and has the acting, dancing singing chops to do it. I wish her all the best. Arigato

  11. Dame(It's Bee season)

Go Girl didn’t need a remix

I love Usher cd this song is cool

  12. rihannarox-#1fan

ciara’s remix sounds a mess the beat doesnt suit the song the original is much better
mya paradise sigh sigh double sigh i thought she retired by now…
    usher hush sounds kool

  13. DEEDEE

Coming from a Jagged Edge fan, “Locked Out” did not blow me away…some of their songs do sound the same I must admit…even though its produced by B. Cox its still missing something, like its not finished or something.

  14. PrettyOrangeStar616

Mya played herself by being an industry ho now she is irrelavent. Shame too cause of her songs I liked, like “fallen” etc

No interest in Ciara wack azz, or JE, or Usher for real LOL

  15. tia

please the whole reason i clicked on this post was for JE…they always bring the real r&b i’m sorry but if i hear one more pop song from an r&b artist i am going to scream, its nothing wrong with growing but i mean really…do like mary j….you always know her subject line but her production has grown seriously and its always hott…..anyway i love the song cuz its normal lol and i am a huge JE fan as well as 112.

usher joint is nice….and i cant stand his ass so i mean thats alot coming from me…its got a good message i like it. its got a “another day in paradise” feel to it

i like mya…this song is a lil ne-yoish and popish (which is annoying) but overall i like it…

ciara……………didnt listen i hate that song already as it is.

  16. C

Mya gave up on America, so shes focusing on Japan

  17. 8baller

Ciara doing a remix is not going to make us like “Go GIrl”.

  18. Nichole

Go Girl sucks, but the video is flaming hot.

What the heck is Mya doing releasing an album in Japan? Is her career in the US officially over, or what? I never liked Mya, but I would like to see her make a comeback.

  19. Beyonce Forever

Just as “Go Girl ” was about to grow on me….they come with this crap. I hate the song all over again. But the video is fiyah.

    Mya……..nevermind.

    Jagged Edge……huh…….

    Usher…… it was ok.

  20. brittny.

brian, why does every review u post ALWAYS end up about you???

    …just asking.

  21. ☆ Lola A♏ ★

A remix is not going to help Go Girl….sorry

  22. I guess I’m the only person that actually likes “Go Girl” (original version).

  23. Beyonce The Thief (aka Sasha)

The original Go Girl is hot. And the video obviously is amazing.

  24. TeTe(didnt feel like loggin in)

i’ve had Usher’s song on repeat since i heard it over the weekend….i was wondering if it would be posted
its such a beautiful song,i love the first verse, all these rappers should listen to it

i tried to make myself get into Ciara’s song but i still hate it….sucks because i used to love her in the “Goodies” days regardless of her sounding like she was out of breath during the whole song

  25. Beyonce The Thief (aka Sasha)

@Shawn So true about Usher’s album. It’s criminally slept on. His vocals on the album are superb, so much depth to the songs. People got too caught up in the Tameka drama and stopped listening. Great album. And this is from someone who was never a fan.

  26. WillPwr

Music these days just sucks compeletely.

Off topic I’m still trying to get into NeYo’s new CD.

  27. London chick

Wow, seems like alot of you aint feeling “Go girl.”?? I think its a tune..! Im feeling it.

  28. Butterflybaby

This is ushers worst album by a mile, what happened to him? I expected an amazing come back but this was bad. I think album relreases are pointless, if people want to get the album they’ll get it!

I never thought mya was all that talented, she can dance but her singing is really monotone.

  29. lisa

CIARA VIDEO GO GIRL! IS HOT, SHE PERFORMES LIKE NO OTHER
VOTE IT TO #1 ON 106.PARK!

  30. MiMia

Like a handful of people here, I also like Ciara’s Go Girl!

The Jagged Edge does sound very familiar but I guess they are just sticking to what they know and what has worked for them.

Even though I’m a Mya fan, I didn’t even listen to her track for fear of disappointment…and I did like Ridin’ but hardly anyone else did.

  31. d

cici congrats on the billboard woman of the year honor

  32. d

this is not an official remix. but offcourse he would post it for hate. she must have rejected your demo or something

  33. knockkey

Go Girl Is A Hot Single, Fans Let Support The Goodies Queen, Ciara 4 Life

  34. Booyall

I LOVE THE USH “HUSH” SONG! He better sing! Usher really has a nice voice! Chris Brown couldn’t sing with this much emotion!

  35. Anartist

Loved Hush, and I too am not a fan of Usher, he can sing though and I was feeling the message – which was unusual for him – but glad to see hear music with depth anyways

  36. Jigga Boo

LOVE GO GIRL ORIGINAL AND IM THE BIGGEST CIARA FAN, but this remix was def unnecessary, it did NOTHING that the original did. LOVE THE ORGINAL AND VIDEO!!! FANTASY RIDE COMING SOON!!!!!!

  37. Whatchusay?

    ALL of them were TRASH!

  38. Corey

GO GIRL REMIX IS hot! So it the VIDEO! The Radio version of song is the best verison.

  39. Corey

Oh Yeah and GO GIRL Remix isnt offical. Just something Gorilla Did.

  40. Candigal

Go girl is corny. I don’t like it!!! if mya worked with better producers and songwriters maybe she could save her career. JE’s songs may all sound the same but i got to give it to them for sticking together after all these years. Most groups don’t last half as long as they did.

  41. jjj

    All of them are WACK!!!!!!!!

  42. be happy

ciara is wack, i’m not interested in anything she do. she to boring

  43. Mrs.Sk8board P

go girl is whack…and so is the remix…lmao..@ mya releasing her album in japan…im just gonna leave it @ that

  44. jay

JE can do no wrong in my eyes. I just love em! ALL of their slow jams crack! Perhaps some can’t get with em because their music is for the GROWN and sexy…

  45. Typical Brian Review

I was driving down the street and (insert artist here) song came on the radio, I remember having a flu that day and I felt sceptical about (insert artist here) entire career. It left me cold. This review is about the song by (insert artist here) not me and my cranky life.

  46. SASSYDANCER

NOT FEELING CICI NOR MYA’S TRACKS AT ALL.

FEELING USHER AND JAGGED EDGE THOUGH!

  47. Mike

What is wrong with yall! Mya song is sooo cool and laidback I really Like it

  48. tiny_t_sigh

I am such a huge Mya fan but, she needs to get it together. I want her to come back harder than this. She has too much talent to be making these bullshyt tracks. C’mon girl, get it together!

I really like Usher’s song “Hush”, the melody and the lyrics are real nice. This track is way more bearable than those other songs that are on, “Here I am,” hopefully this will be included on his new ish. I’m routing for you Ursh!

JE, has been weak since…since…I don’t know when! LOL, they are so lame. It amazes me that they are even still able to get a record deal, and yet other more talented groups like Dru Hill sit on the sidelines! WTF? Altho, I did used to jam to “Let’s Get Married,” but that was well over 10 years ago. Negroes haven’t had a hit since.

Ciara’s track is decent. Can’t wait to see what she has on the latest album.

Sidenote: Ever notice how Beyonce never has any leaked tracks on the net? LOL

  49. Terri

    LUV JE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  50. CubanMorena

OMG!!! That Usher joint is hoooot!!! I like it because you NEVER hear any direct social commentary from any of his music (that goes for the majority of our popular vocalists for that matter) and he does it so beautifully and sincerely. I love how the production compliments the lyrics- the drum beat in the background reminiscent of military marching bands, and how the refrain is a hushed chorus, the simplicity of the melody. And I think it speaks to what’s going on with so many of our young people today who have grown disillusioned with politics, their opportunities for advancements, I hear so many people, even I have said “it’s a waste of time to vote” etc. And I like how it addresses the fact that we’ve grown complacent being fed the foolishness that pop culture has become as an escape from their own realities, and pop culture as it is now does nothing to cure our real “social wounds” but mask them.

Artists have a social responsibility- as much as they should entertain, they should speak to the nuances of our culture and society. Which is why I like Concreteloop – there’s entertainment, advocacy, education, and the opportunity for public opinion. This site and that song are really outstanding! :)

(forgive the mini-rant, I really liked the song haha)

  51. Mr. Tell It How It Is

Ciara…I didn’t listen to it, I dig “Go Girl” just as it is. And the video is so dope

Mya…didn’t listen, that would be a waste of time.

J.E.- I’m a fan of JE but the last two projects they’ve released I didn’t cop. Judging by this song, there’s a reason why.

Usher…I heard 15 seconds of it and it was a snooze fest. I hated ‘Here I Stand’. It shouldn’t be rereleased. Why don’t artists just leave their projects the way they are anymore? Rereleasing your album that came out 4 months ago is NOT gonna make me run out and buy it. Especially since the first go ’round sucked!

Overall…this was a snooze new music review

And @ 49, Beyonce has SEVERAL leaked tracks on the net. You might not be looking in the right place

  52. r2

i like mya’s song paradise. its no different than the other pop music you hear. its safe. but it doesnt matter what mya sings ppl will always hate. i aint mad at mya that shes doing well in japan. it seems ppl have gaven her the boot here in the states so she did what anyone else who would have done make her money somwhere else where ppl will appreciate her talent. evry body knows that most of the artist here in the states put out trash. except ne-yo and a few others like MJB and MIMI. I think about all the artist that i grew up on who dont make albums anymore and we wonder why there no real good music anymore. cassie cant sing. but her video is on 106 n park. diddy took a pretty girl and made her a star and we black ppl buy into it. WAKE UP PPL! i love mya but she just cant catch a break. ppl callin her a ho mostly other females its so sad. and we get mad cause white ppl call OBAMA A TERRORIST!!! ITS TERRIBLE WHEN PPL MAKE LIES ABOOUT PPL THAT THEY DONT EVEN KNOW PERSONALLY. TO RUIN A PERSONS IMAGE IS TACKY JUST BECAUSE SHE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. THIS IS TO ALL THE HATERS!!!

  53. Mimzy

    ALL these songs are horrible!!

  54. tameka not usher wife lol

love usher song cant weit to meet and see my men live. and i am looking forword on seeing his ex to chilli lol

  55. Dre

Some of ya’ll are so pathetic…ya’ll get on these sites every damn day just to show ya’ll hate..are things not going perfect in your life to where you have to put others down to make yourself look taller? Ya’ll thi ya’ll know an artist but ya’ll are so dumb that you feed into these dumbass rumors. Ya’ll think it’s easy to be an artist and you have no idea what it takes. Ya’ll bash them like ya’ll can do 10X better…but i don’t see nann oe of ya’ll with a record deal. Yes i’m a true Mya fan..I like Ciara and Usher as well..and if ya’ll knew anything about Mya’s single then ya’ll wouldn’t talk so damn much….Yes she’s still droppinan album in the U.S. early next year…Japan just happens to be the first country getting new music….She started her own record label as well and has recorded many different albums geared towards different countries(which is the first for any artist)..Mya is a very smart and underrated artist. People are not gonna make the same kinda music every damn time..artist grow, and so does their audience..and she can’t please every damn body either…So ya’l really need to look in the mirror and check yourself..anybody who has to hate is insecure with their own shit…Take a fukkin bow and shut the hell up…and for the record, Mya might not be a Whitney Houston, but the girl can sing/dance her ass off and has hella range…She will dance all of these chicks under the table without breakin a sweat

  56. Dre

On and by the way, i bet the same peole callin Mya a ho are out doing the same thing…it takes one to know one right?..lmao…don’t get mad cause she’s a silver dollar…homegirl aint had a album out in 5yrs and she’s gettin more press than people with albums out…for Mya to have so many haters, her name sure does stay in peoples mouth…lmao

  57. NOT EASILY IMPRESSED

I have watched BET maybe three times in the last year and for no longer than ten minutes at a time so I was very very shocked to find that Ciara’s garbage song is #1. I was channel surfing and caught a glimpse of her…never seen the video so I watched a few seconds and then realized it was #1. Are they kidding? I think Ciara’s fooling all of you – she isn’t remotely the dancer you think. There was all this odd twitching, like she was bluffing…like she was pretending to break into a dance move and this just straight up robotic movement which just looked crazy! What is it about that song and video that everyone likes? Her body is masculine!

  58. Kellz

Ciara’s remix is WACK and I’m mad they did that. The song isn’t my favorite BUT I don’t think it needed a remix (especially a wack one). Usher’s song (lyrically) is interesting but it isn’t my cup of tea. I applaud the substance is the song tho. JE and Mya’s songs were okay but not that interesting and def. not ipod worthy.
