I am not really looking forward to either of these shows. Real and Chance’s show will probably be another extension of the depiction of black females as scanty, hot in the pants and “ghetto”. Previews of David Alan Grier’s show have been utterly disappointing .. at least to me. It’s seems to be more making fun of black people under the guise of comic relief with no significant political commentary/critique. He’s Again, from the previews I’ve seen, the show just seems to be taking cheap shots at black people. This is pathetic! Our image is under attack and the sad thing about it is that white media is promoting it and black actors/comedians are complicit in it. Nothing new, right? Reminds me of black face and minstrel shows. Just my take on it.
