THis song and video is OK. Beyonce is a pretty young lady so of course if you add perfect make up from the best make up artist, perfect hair from the best hair stylist, perfect wigs, technological advances to alter images, and perfect scenes and angles from the best cinematographer then yes it will look good. I definately give props to Beyonce for liking the best of the best when it comes to people who master their crafts which directly impact her productions and career. I wonder if Beyonce can directly relate to this song ? It would be interesting if she was asked this question. At the same time, it is very predicatble that she is going to pussyfoot around the question and state that she is a good listener and that she has heard stories from friends and family members and that she wrote this song for all women so that they can be empowered. I am looking forward to the day that Beyonce’s relationship with her fans can progress from the superficial. I am curious to know who she is on the inside. Oh yah, there was a comment that her facial expressions are getting better. Well, YEs, I agree. However, Beyonce has always had an attitude like the rest of the world. Thus she can depict an attitude via non verbal communication very well. Is is not clear that she is very good at holding it back (which I can appreciate) this is why her interviews are so fake. Anywho, I think it is good just like Beautiful Liar is good. I was just looking for…. maybe the music fans of the world are dissapointed in her because she acts like she is more than she actually is. SO,,, we wait for it,, and a wait for it and it never comes- yet the industry portrays her as if she way living up to her own hype. Then the dissapointed music fans become highly annoyed. Now I’m thinking the Beyonce fans realize exactly who she is, despite what she says, and that is all that they need. Hmmm. Eureka.

If beyonce took ciara beat and started to sing over it then yea that would be trying to copy her . Beyonce has her own lyrics own tempo voice, video concept of character being a cop and reverse roles. Stop the hate learn to see the good things the artist is trying to get across and what could wake up some closed minds and heads who are trapped in a 1 way of life process.

According to MediaBase, “If I Were A Boy” is getting tons of spins at “Top 40″ radio stations all around the country.
I’m not a huge fan of the song but- I like the fact that many Black artists including Beyonce are moving out of their comfort zones. To take it a level further though has anyone thought about why female artists keep singing songs about being boys and wishing they had more power? We are living in 2008 a Black man is about to be president- why are we as women still allowing ourselves to be in these submissive roles?
Think about it people…This video was so predictable…there was no ways she would be singing such a song in full make up and shiny clothes like all her other videos (especially all the Bday videos), it just wouldn’t make sense…

This is one of the best things Beyonce’s ever done. the video is great, she’s so much more appealing stripped down without all the drag queen make-up. I already liked the song but the video made me like it more. Like I say in most of my posts about Beyonce, I do like her and her talent I just hate when she gets overly praised for sub par work. Here she remembered to add the substance and it’s paid off with the majority of her audience hater and stan alike mostly liking it as a result.
Lastly, it was good to see her playing the bad girl for once as she hasn’t been that versatile siince the Writing’s On The Wall days with Temptations and Confession. My only complaint was that she didn’t stay in charater throughout the whole vid. It would have been more ironic if she had been saying ‘Look girls, we slag off men at every opportunity but a lot of us are just as bad!’
