I am very much a Beyonce fan. I honestly believe that she is a great entertainer. Beyonce has worked very hard to be in an elite group of entertainers. She has shown throught her career that she is creative, thoughtful, and a dedicated professional. If you have ever had the opportunity to experience one of her live concert performances you will see why she is in league of her own. I do feel the need to address some of the comments that various people have left on this blog. It is very disrespectful for people on this site to call Beyonce a “whore” when she doesn’t demonstrate any of those qualities. She has dated one man for six years and married him. How many women can say that? She isn’t dating married men or stealing peoples husbands (like some of the women you people praise). She is not seen flashing her private parts or conducting herself in a manner that would not be appropriate for a young woman. There is a big difference between Beyonce the person and Beyonce the performer. Her performance attire does not make her into some type of whore or slut. IT IS SIMPLY A SHOW. You do not see her walking the street half naked and dancing. IT BAFFLES ME THAT ANYONE COULD BE SO STUPID AND NOT BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE. She has managed to do all this while maintaining her dignity and helping others (she has done work to help Katrina victims, Ronald McDonald House, Make a wish Foundation, etc). She also managed to find love and she didn’t run through a huge number of men to do so. I am not trying to list everything about Beyonce, but the point is you people are calling her names and saying really mean stuff about a woman that basically has her “SHIT” together. It is wrong, mean, and hateful. I feel like if you dislike her song, then just say you don’t like it, but these personal character attacks that some of you are doing is stupid. As for the Ciara, Rihanna, Ashanti, Jazmine Sullivan, and the rest of the pact are all good artists. They have different things that they are good at and things that they lack. I can understand that you all want to compare them to Beyonce, but right now she is miles above the rest. How can anyone expect Beyonce to “grow” as an artist beyond where she is? The sister has lived anything other than a regular life since she was a teenager. She has had to shelter herself from real people because of her notoriety and fame, spends most of her time around her closest family members, has few friends or outside influences and has admitted in countless interviews that she’s content being that way (Michael Jackson anyone?). This girl has a very limited scope and her level of exposure to most things that “regular” people go through is hindered as a result.

When I saw this video it totally confirmed how much of a one trick pony she is. She started off selling sex and booty shaking and she has to keep it that way because that’s all she knows. How can she be deep? Where would she acquire any depth from? lol. The song has already been done and the video has already been done. But I expected that. She’s just not doing anything we haven’t seen a million times before.

As for the people who are disgusted by the way she gyrates I can understand why. It’s not about comparing her to Madonna, Britney or whoever. She is very influential on young BLACK girls and a lot of them mimic her. It’s really not a bad video (song is terrible though) but I cringed when she popped her legs open.
