I must say that I’m loving the “less is more” look that Bey is going for these days. I think that it is working for her. I must say as a Beyonce fan I was kinda dissappointed. I was really excited and expecting her to come in with a bang. The videos are pretty cool, but the songs are weak. This is very meaningless and with music going down the drain pretty much I thought she would take a growth and maturity approach to her music because she said she wanted to be an icon. So far much of her music will not be memorable once this generation gets older and leave the clubs (IMO). Her music is good to dance to don’t get me wrong cause I get down to it when I’m out with my girls, but in the future I will not be saying this is my song and turning up the radio.

As far as the dancing goes, it’s cool but if you attended a historically black college like I have or have been on a black drill team, this is nothing new to you because the cheerleaders do this at every football game.

I like the blk and white image and the plain background honestly. I don’t think she needed more than that. I’m not fond of the butt cheeks show and the gyrating of her private area. To me that’s no different than what these video girls do and Beyonce use to always be a classy woman to me. This video is a follow-up to Get Me Bodied. Both are patterned after Bob Fosse choreographed numbers. “Get Me Bodied” is based on the Rich Man’s Frug from Sweet Charity. “Single Ladies” is based on the ‘Mexican Breakfast’ dance, also choreographed by Fosse, made famous by dancer Gwen Verdon.
