I love me some YE!
However, this video made ZERO Sense.
I did not get the Tribal thing at all….I just did not work.
And Did we learn anything from Andre 3000???
Only Lil Wayne and T Pain make this tired format work…..let it die.
Kanye come better. I appreciate the effort but the video and the “singing” don’t work at all.

Did you guys see the new Macy’s commercial? In the commercial they had an icon from every generation, the only icon from our generation was Kanye. And he was the only black person in the entire commercial.

Amazing!
I dont particularly care for the song because of his singing, his voice annoys me, the production however is hot. The video brought the song to life. I like how they played off of the beats in the song with the African theme.
Like somone said earlier the all white represents the fact that he’s going crazy as if he’s in a mental asylum and the Warriors represent the war with his love interest playing out in his mind. Heavy!
People keep saying it doesn’t make sense and there is no concept, even if that was the case (which it isn’t) art is not meant to make sense to everyone. Sometimes the artist is the only one who can interpret his or her own work. Dont get frustrated or belittle it because you dont understand it.

The lyrics are cool, but the video and Kanye’s singing is HORRIBLE! He needs to dig down deep and bring back that college dropout/ late registration type music. It’s funny how artist change…over a course of time. College Dropout showed how hungry he was…late registration showed how he remained on top…I can’t even remember the last album because it was so..so. Bring back the real music man…stop creating this whack sh*t!

Hmmm…I don’t think Kanye ‘tries’ to be anything but himself.
I love the video.
Initially didn’t like the studio version of this, but in the video it sounds like a cleaned up better version of the track.

i dont understand some of u. this video and song is fire.. one thing that makes kanye so successful and great is that he doesnt limit his creativity and doesnt try to fit to a boxed image. he takes risks with his sound and has been successful doin so. its his music and vision he can express how he wants to.

I absolutely LOOOOVE this song, and I think people who don’t like it, may change their mind after they hear it some more, as it grew on me as well.
As for the video- I think it is amazing, and an interesting concept. I love the stark white room for the intro of the song, then as it picks up and gets more intense we see the African warriors/dancers wreaking havoc with the white scene. (kinda what love/emotion does)
To the end of the video when we see the warriors recede, it seems as if Kanye decides it’s better to be in the blank whiteness than have all that upheaval.
I think having the 2 ladies (godess figures even?) in color was a superb way to set them apart from the rest of the video.
And I can’t believe I just spent time analyzing a video!
I don’t care what none of y’all say- only Kanye can get people talking about something deep and abstract.

Of course some of you are looking for a certain type of “entertainment” value from him considering he has been very “entertaining” in the past. However I would also consider the idea that Kanye is and has always been an artist first. His ability to express something artistically through music and visuals is both extensive and dynamic. Kanye has developed an aesthetic that goes way beyond simply being a hip hop rapper/producer. There is more than simple entertainment value in that. But I can understand where most of you don’t get that.

Hmm, interesting video… And what in the smelly big-toe hell is up with Kanye not wearing socks!!!? His feet prolly smell real real bad!LMAO
Anyways, it’s good to see a “rap”-video with hot guys in it, besides the rapper himself (at least sometimes they’re hot)
The drum sequence in the chorus is sick, best part of the song!!!

Hmm, I have to handed to kanye the song is different but in a good way , I like the concept of the tribal men, the white pallet, kanye cool demeanor and I love that the video is abstract, Idon’t believe artists need to define every lyric or melody in their videos. However, with the praise to Kanye, I have to say something that bother me about the video. I know people r going to say would u just get over it. But, how is it you depict a video with african, tribal warriors,, but you use “others” to play the african tribal women. Is this where we have come to that u get “others” to portray the african women,(OUR RACE), I’ see that many black women are not portrayed in music videos, whicH I’m okay with because the video’s are degrating to black women. But, when you get another ethnicity to play an black woman. I can’t help but stratch my head with confusion.Come on kanye, i know you have your preferences But Seriously!

@ 88 sigh
I cannot explain the “concept” of the video to you…it’s what YOU as an individual take from the video.
I said some people are simple minded because everything shouldn’t have to be “as is” to be appreciated. Some things, just like art, can be abstract, and each and every viewer can take some different away from it after seeing it. This video just gives you more than meets the eye, gives you a little something to reflect on, and generally makes you think; it’s not so self-explanatory and common. And i just think for some people, if it’s not plain, clear, and something they see everyday, they can’t get with it; i call these people “simple minded,” cause everything has to be plainly stamped and identified in order for them to like it….if it requires any type of thinking outside the box, the AUTOMATICALLY don’t like it.

ALL U IDIOTS HATING ON THIS SONG ARE SO BRAINWASHED TO BELIEVE THAT HIP HOP ONLY CONSISTS OF THE FOOLISHNESS THAT PLAYS ON THE RADION 30 TIMES A DAY ( SOLDIER BOY,LIL WAYNE, T PAIN, ETC). KANYE IS ATTEMPTING TO ELEVATE HIP HOP MUSIC, TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT HIP HOP IS MORE THAN A HOT BEAT AND LYRICS ABOUT THE BIGGEST CARS, AND GETTING MONEY. THIS SONG IS SUUUUUPER HOT! AND THE VIDEO IS EVEN HOTTER! KANYE WEST IS THE BEST RAPPER/ ARTIST AT THIS TIME PERIOD! AND THE VIDEO IS HIGHLY ARTISTIC, PAYING HOMAGE TO HIS AFRICAN ROOTS! DID YOU GUYS REALLY EXPECT FOR HIM TO HAVE A “TYPICAL” RAP VID FOR SUCH A HOT SONG!?? COME ON ! LOL!

what i love about kanye is that he puts he wears his emotions on his sleeve you can really feel and see his pain with this song. it’s real shit! and he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. this whole concept- the song and video– is brilliant.
if u listen to the lyrics you realize this whole thing with the warriors represents his internal war to fight the love that he’s scared of expressing, i’m assuming for his ex. get it ‘ye!

I’ve been wondering what the meaning of his song is and was hoping someone else had the same idea. Knowing Kanye the video means he’s in love with his culture/roots but he’s stuck in a white world. A whole love song just looks too obvious. The video doesn’t coresspond with what he’s saving as far as love so I think there’s some other meaning.
