Wow! I was so moved by this man right now. Lost his wife, 69yrs of marriage! So, lucky to have that longevity of marriage, I pray he gets to see another 4 or 5 yrs. But, he is so right “We are the future”, we can come together and be so much more if we give each other a chance.
Try to say “Hi” to someone you do not know (around school or work). Forgive someone that has done wrong to you. Give time to yourself or read a book.
Like Mr. Alexander states “we have to be united, can’t nothing be done divided”

See things like this make me cry. I am an emotional wreck right now and my co-worker are looking at me like I am crazy.
Thank God for Barack Obama and what he stands for and what he is trying to do with our country. Charles said it best, “He can unite our country again”. And we can all be citizens of the United States of America instead of being considered the “mulls” of the working class.

1) race is a SOCIAL construct, not a biological one, and in this society, Obama is viewed as a black man, regardless of the ethnicity of his mother. Frederick Douglass’ father was white, and yet we all consider him a black man correct? Biologically, the difference between the “races” (which is a misnomer) has to do with phenotype (physical features) and not genotype (genetic make-up).

I have advice for all the supporters on this particular site, ignore these people who come on here with race comments. The fact is no matter what happens we must celebrate because Obama has made history, and its actually psychologically damaging to people who have had this narrative of BLACK men being shiftless, lazy, and not competent. Senator Obama has shown the world what black men are capable of when they are at their best. What’s the real fear? That there are more Senator Obamas among us. See, whites are use to being given passes for being white and present, and now this is no longer working for them. Change is mind boggling to say the least. McCain ’08 is entitled to his opinion, but he would not be posting if there wasn’t a fear that Obama had a real chance. Many of these sorts of comments are being made out of fear. I LOVE IT.
