I have a question. Why the hell do celebs wanna talk big sh*t when it is election time but come after (and before) fall, their ass is collecting a huge ass check and NOT giving any to charity or helping the common people? No one has the balls to voice out how most of their asses are OVERPAID compared to teachers, doctors, community leaders and etc. None of their asses is thinking about the shape of our society while wasting thousands of dollars on clothes stuffed in the closet in their million dollar homes. Yet after all that, we are supposed to be impressed when they put out sh*t like this? Get the f**k outta here. Bob had a message that reached ppl because he was REAL and not on this celeb bull. He knew of the human struggle and still lived it while giving ppl hope. That’s real… that’s impressive; not this. I’m sorry but bull like this makes me mad because actions truly speak louder than words and I’m getting sick and tired of feeling like I’m the only one. Kellz … I understand what your trying to say .. but they do put in some effort , dont get celebrities wrong…a lot of them do help out , and give to others, but we don’t see a lot of publicity about it. Not only that but it’s us the people who pay to see them , and read stuff about them, that basically make them famous, u can’t blame them,… like u said it us that have to change our priorities, if we didn’t care about usher, or his music he would not have a job or be as famous as he is and make the money he does. You can’t fault him or any other celebrity of doing their job well…actually some dont even do their job but people’s interest in them is what makes them famous. So really I think it is great when a celebrity or anyone does something to support a good cause, usher is trying to send out his message in the best way he knows how – his music! , you can’t fault him for that.

Love the song, but listening to the lyrics especially the first verse I could not but get a sense of hypocracy. I mean this is the same guy who splashes millions of dollars on jewelry, parties and cars and he is telling people to HUSH and don’t say nothing. Like I said I love the song but part of me feels that he and most of the big name celebraties that are running their mouths off as if they are good role models need to just HUSH and don’t say nothing.

Usher has been very active in giving back. He has his foundation and they helped alot in New Orleans and he has a summer camp in ATL for kids. He has also been very active in this political campaign helping with registering voters. I am really proud of him and he is a fine young man, his mother must be so proud!! Buuut, there are plenty of celebs that give back to their communities but those things are NOT brought to the forefront because our MEDIA chooses to focus on what THIS celeb is wearing or who SLEPT with this person. Our media has a ton to do with what viewers are exposed to…I think it’s great that celebrities are taking advantage of this time to encourage young people to exercise their right to vote and affect change! I believe viewers have to remember that there is a difference between entertainers “acting” and being committed to their own causes etc. When I saw Piddy in his “Unforgivable “commercial; I took it as he was advertising his brand. Whereas, when he is on his blog that fool really is serious about his Obama support.
Now that same goes for Usher in this case. The Trading Places video was just that a make-believe video not a real-life sex tape. So we should all realize that he is “acting”. On the other hand the “Hush” video was different because they used “real” footage of Obama and Usher at various rallies etc.
Either way, only the Lord can judge our motives and intentions and I say let these stars and the rest of us do some good and go out and vote.

Here’s what I think, was I dissapointed in the “Trading Places” video, sure I was. But does that mean that I can’t take the positive message that he was trying to convey from this video and appreciate what he was trying to say…No.
Usher does give back alot and although I may not agree with some of his stances on what’s appropriate for a married man at times, he’s on of us and at least he’s doing something to try and help. So I can support and be touched by his positive efforts here.
