@Somer, I completely understand what you are saying, but I also believe Obama needs to choose his battles wisely. I know he has the ability to come out swinging, and in due time, he will. Michelle Obama was absolutely awesome in the interview with Larry. I’d forgotten that it was even coming on, but the TV’s in our house are always tuned to CNN these days, so I got a chance to see it.

She is poised, articulate, intelligent, plain spoken and down to earth. I can tell that she is struggling with Barack’s time away from the family, and her own hectic schedule. She’s not saying “everything is great!” She’s saying “when is the last time my husband and I have been in the same room together to have a discussion about anything?” and “the girls have a strict bedtime. If Barack wants to speak to them, he has to call them before bedtime.”

Michelle Obama is my hero, and she will make GREAT first lady in the white house, and she will use her platform as first lady to affect some changes in the lives of working moms and military families. Her values are solid, her passion is evident.

Because OUR children still have no clue about James Baldwin, Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Angela Davis etc. What I have done and continue to do with real black intellectual people who know that the only way to fight against systematic racism and cultural degradation is to actual create more then just one option.
