OMG, I’m still in shock right now. I mean I just saw history last night. It was exciting and crazy at the same time. A Black family is just months from occupying the WHITE HOUSE!!!! OMG our ancestors would be so proud.

But like I tell ppl yes it’s a good thing for blacks but ALL of America had to come through and make this happen. Black, Latino, White, Asian everybody and we did it ya’ll.

It truly was a heart-wrenching election and I am so proud that in the end he was the last man standing. It was a well-deserved win for African Americans and Americans alike. I cannot speak for everyone, but for me this election was about so much more than race. This election for me was about all Americans standing together and proclaiming that ‘politics as usual’ in Washington must end. My support to the Obama/Biden Administration as they inherit this mess.

To the Republicans, you have a lot of work to do. As you have seen, in order to win moving forward you MUST expand your base and reach all people. That is, if you are capable of doing so; I doubt it.

I was in Grant Park last night for the rally and it was AMAZING!!!!
Chicago knew he was going to win but all of sudden when he was announced as the President Elect we went BANANAS!!!!!
Words can’t even describe the way it felt to be part of history last night. To feel his presence and hear his words echo among thousands of people will be something that I will hold with me for the rest of my life. I am so excited for Obama and for CHANGE!

From the moment i cast my vote up to the moment i found out he won was just unbelievable!!! i’m still in shock that he won but so proud that WE could make it happen.

Hmm… I thought this news would have been clocking more comments than a Beyonce post… Apparently not.

Anyway, thank you America. The rest of world wanted this too.

As soon as he won Florida (my hometown) I was jumping around the house with my twin nieces screaming OBAMA, OBAMA!!!
This is the first time that I actually sat there and watched him speak.. Everytime I would see him he would reminded me so much of my father. My father and him resemble each other so much. My father passed away in 2005 and I know if he was here right now he would have been excited to see the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Over here in the UK, we are so happy. This is a beautiful day in history.

I was on the phone with my daughter who is a student at the University of Florida as soon as it was announced. She said “Daddy, everybody’s going outside, I gotta go!” That’s when it got emotional for me. This was the scene at many colleges around the US. Just to picture all theses young Black Students celebrating together all at once was overwhelming. Today is my Birthday but I keep forgetting because there is a bigger cause for celebration!

THANK YOU JESUS…ALL PRAISE BELONGS TO YOU…..CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY OBAMA…YOUR HARD WORK AND INTEGRITY HAS PAID OFF…..UNPRECEDENTED MOMENT IN TIME…………..IM SPEECHLESS

I knew we could do this. I’m so proud of my country today! Its going to be another warm, beautiful day. Even the Lord is smiling on us today!

This victory means so much on so many levels. For the first time all of the marginalized people in this country–all of us who always felt like we didn’t matter, like we didn’t count—for the first time we feel included. Not only that, Obama was not elected just because he was African-American–he was elected because the majority of people in this country respect his principles, his integrity…HIM. They looked past color and saw a man. For once I can actually say that I’m proud to be an American.

YES WE DID!! THIS IS SO SURREAL!! I shed a tear thinking about the Civil Rights Movement and how we fought so hard for the simplest things!! Now we have a piece of history that can never be taken away!!!!

When I watched the speech the first time, I was so excited. I saw pieces of it again on TV this morning and I actually cried the second time. This may very well be the best day of some of our lives.

I hope that we will be dignified and gracious. Obama has a lot ahead of him and we need to just support him and represent black people well. People, words can not really describe this occasion or this feeling!!!

It’s amazing. I’m 22 years old and i have lived through history. I remember 911, i was a sophmore in high school. A year after, the incident was in my history text book. This is a moment that i will remember. I will make sure that my children understand and know what took place ……the truth. I am an american citizen but i was not born in america. Some natural americans don’t realize how this election has impacted the world.

I’ve never been sooooooooo proud of being black.. Thank you Jesus!!! i cnt hold back anymore tears. What an honor it is to have such a gracious and humble individual as the next president of this country. Indeed it is a remarkable advancement for blacks ecerywhere but lets not forget that it just wasn’t ‘us’ that made this happen, but latino’s and white americans, who by the way, contributed more votes than any group, and the various of other ethnicities who supported this cause. What truly struck me is all of the other nations such as italy, kenya, indonesia, and even pakistan, have already embraced barack. Furthermore, I m so elated that my grandfather, who lived through the civil rights movement, is here to see history made. This is such a glorious time and words truly cannot express what this means to me, and im sure, all of you.

My condolensces go out to Obama’s family surrounding his grandmama’s untimely death. I beleive she is rejoicing with all of us and praying for him to stay on the right path.
