BARACK OBAMA WINS THE ELECTION!
Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Sen. Barack Obama speaks to over 125,000 crowd members in Chicago’s Grant Park, minutes after being elected the 44th president of the United States, becoming the nation’s first black person to be elected president.
Obama, the son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas and a first-term Democratic senator from Illinois, defeated second-time Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain. The election proved even more victorious for Democrats, which now have the majority in both the House and Senate, the first time since 1994.
In case you missed it, check out President-Elect Obama’s acceptance speech.

Everyone who voted for Obama will be apart of History. I am still in shock. I will never forget the moment when they announced that he had won. I was crying and shouting for joy. The first Black President. I cant believe we did it.

You’re ignorant. George Bush is human along with Obama, along with you and me, along with Billy and Sally, so don’t try and tell me that it is okay to trash talk Bush but incorrect to do it to Obama. None of us are perfect. Yes Bush screwed up at some points, but that is not any reason for it to be okay for him to be attacked and not okay for Obama. I let you talk badly about Bush, it is your opinion. I talk badly about Obama and it suddenly becomes wrong. Until I see a written law not to talk badly about Obama, I think he is a psychotic moron who won’t change us at all. IF he lives to the next 2 months. Guns are selling out quickly. **I know you didn’t like that, but now you see what I mean.**

I tried to give her the modern translation, but you took it all the way back to the Greek!
I just think poor Rayna J. has spent too much time talking to the wrong people…or she tried to figure it out on her own and she got caught up in the frenzy!
Obama’s morals are light years ahead of most politicians!
Rayna, I don’t remember hearing Obama saying “gay couples can’t visit each other in he hospital” I think he said just the opposite. And, your discussion on the $250,000 taxation is whacked! You just don’t get it! And besides, 95% of us don’t fall in that category anyhow, so stop the stall ball! Most of the $250k people will only see an increase of less than $10,000. It’s gonna add up for the people like Exxon, Microsoft and Chevron, who show quarterly profits in the billions. Bill Gates don’t need all that money!

first off Congrats, Obama. second i just wanted to express my feelings regarding this election. I voted for Barack for a number of reasons., not just because he’s black. Its because I trust him to lead this country in the right direction. I think the come touching moment for me was callling my 92 year-old grandmother in Georgia, and just reveled her happiness. When you think about the things she and other older black’s in the country have lived through. Segration, etc. I’m so glad she got to experience something she never thought could ever happened. Such a victory.

I am sooooo excited!! Obama is president!! I do not believe that most African Americans voted for him because he is black. I belive that the majority of us voted for him because we believe in his leadership ability!!! You may not like the man, but just like McCain said, you must give respect where respect is due and this man deserves that respect.!!!

Let EVERYTHING that has breath, PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!
I voted for this man. But when I entered the poll, I felt overwhelmed to allow my hand to punch the ticket for my Dad who passed in December, for my Grandfather who left us in 89, for my Great-Grandmother and for all those who I had no blood-relationship with, but who passed before ever knowing who Barack Obama was. I saw on my ballot that the square was number (18). So I removed it and found the box that I had punch several times already and punched it a few times more. I tried to mark an “X”, but the marker only made dots, so I punched the entire box until it could no longer be seen. I voted, MY DAD voted, MY GRANDMOTHERand GRANDFATHER voted, MY DEAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY voted for this man. God bless this man. God bless America and all the AFRICAN DECENDENTS WHO VOTED. But on the REAL, aside from us, I WANT TO THANK the 60% of WHITE VOTERS, the young and the old, who honestly recognized that something wasn’t right about this country. Those who understood that it was time and that this was the moment and that this was the man. ALL OF THEM, our white, caucasian, anglo-saxon or whatever you want to call them, OUR lighter BROTHERS and SISTERS in Christ, our FELLOW AMERICANS who looked past the divides and united with us to do this. WE COULD HAVE NEVER DONE THIS ALONE. Not with OPRAH’s money or in Spike’s films without the spirit of the LORD, flowing through the hearts of so many who are not black. IN FACT WHITES LED THE CHARGE! We need not forget, IOWA got the ball rolling. I thank GOD for this day. To be a recorder and an observer of such history. I imagine that our ancestors felt this exact way when Lincoln ended slavery. I can imagine the jubilee that must have filled the land. TODAY we share a moment in history equal to that event. A time when those in AMERICA realized that The Constitution and Declaration of Independence are just words on paper, unless we give them life, through practice, works and votes.
The Capital, that was built by slaves; The steps leading up to it, made with the blood, sweat and tears of our ancestors; Those stones paved the way for this day.
GOD BLESSED AMERICA. This land that I fought for and love.

You are intitled to your opinion however, church are state are suppose to be divided. I’m a Black Christian Woman and it says in Luke 12:57 (Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?) Not you, I or the government have the right to tell a woman what to do with her body. Her decision to have a baby is hers and hers alone. It is up to her to be judged by her creator not by you, me or the governement. It is up to her to seek an answer from her higher power not from you, me or the governement. We are not God and we can’t judge anyone. Christians love, embrace and forgive, not judge!
Peace and Love

First of all…I’m sure you learned the term “psychotic moron” in one of your therapy sessions! That applies to you, sweetie…not Barack! He’s a Harvard graduate!
Now, about your little suggestion of assination! Well again I say to you, stop living in fear and fairytale! You see Michelle is not worried, because she purposely wore her black widow dress. And, she was even brave enough to bring the girls in there black and red. Trust me, the Obamas know the dangers of leading America and God has put a hedge around them because I prayed and asked Him to protect them! We should all be praying and not talking about such foolishness.
And don’t forget, sometimes when a gun is used, it gives enternal life to it’s victim! The spirit of Jesus and Martin lives on.

Why must people be so NEGATIVE. I don’t understand. People have came together regardless of differ views and ethnicity and their are people STILL talking that DIVISION shit. Why are y’all steady trying to divide! Why do y’all think like that! Positive thoughts come positive actions because YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK. That’s exactly why I like Obama because every obstacle he had to face (remember they said what he’s achieved wasn’t even possible) he has dealt with it with a STEADY HAND. He’s conscious! He had many people attacking him during his campaign and NEVER have you seen him break. THIS is why I feel with the challenges he face he will deal with them with a steady hand just like he did his AMAZING run to the office and victory. Y’all doubting him again but that won’t stop him because he’s been doubted before and he overcame and proved EVERYONE wrong. Grow up and make these next 4 years best for you. Don’t look to Obama to solve everything. He’s not the savior of Black people he’s a president. Y’all change y’all selves and true change will come. Giving me a damn head ache.
I’m proud of him though. And I will be even more proud when America seize this moment to reflect on themselves and know who really controls America. THE PEOPLE DO. So America can’t change until we do. That’s Obama’s whole point in running. We did this for ourselves and we must live up to what we believe ourselves to be.

First of all, the act your describing where God’s followers sold their possessions and divided them among each other was at the beginning of the apostolic church in the Book of Acts. During a unique period of history. Secondly, they spread their money among the BELIEVERS! Believers is the key word. Also, I did not say that all people who don’t have money are lacking because its their fault. I said “many” are. Also, please don’t pass judgment on my finacial struggles - you have no idea why I’m struggling finacially, so please don’t talk about judgement. I am not judging anybody, I am a flawed human myself. I am simply talking about a man who practically goes against every biblical principle and against some of the most sacred things of God. God is our provider - vote and do His will and he will “SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY…”
Christians had a duty to vote the will of God (whomever was closest on moral issues) and Barack Obama was not that man. Any man who promotes and advocates the killing and slaughtering of the innocent does not deserve to be head of a country that was founded on Christian principles and the Word of God. If you will kill the innocent - then it will be nothing to commit any other type of evil. The same people who claim Barack Obama is such a advocate for us African-Americans fail to realize the same act of abortion he promotes is killing off African-American babies in the majority! He is doing more to kill our black potential in abortion clinics then to help our potential. His values DO NOT coincide with the Bible nor the inerrrant Word of God. People thought more about their wallets then the Word. How many of His supporters were thinking of God at the polls? How many people failed to have the same faith they will probably shout and testify about next Sunday at church?

We hear the timeless words of Dr. Martin Luther King echoing in the
poetic reality of Barack Obama - the son of a black father from Kenya
and a white mother from Kansas has been elected to the highest office in
the United States and the most powerful position in the world! And he
has been judged on the “content of his character” - respectful,
gracious, humble and always with a positive and open smile!
From humble beginnings, he has worked, applied himself and dared to
hope and dream that he could.
His life and story must be an inspiration to us all. He Did. We
Can.
Let’s embrace this new day - this profound and majestic moment in
history!

Honey stop letting the hatred eat you up. I know you never wanted change, I know you never wanted to see a person of color lead the country, but that’s what you have to understand, you have to know the difference between the things you can change and the things you can’t and be wise enough to know the difference. You see, we won’t allow hatred, stupidity, ignorance and bigotry to stop us. We will continue to grow and soar! This is only the beginning of the great things we can and will do. We as African Americans are strong, intelligent, beautiful and capable. You see that’s something you won’t and can’t change, know the difference.

In Swahili Obama name means “blessing or blessed”, couldn’t of had a better name than that.
He consider himself a black man so that is what he is.
Rayna J. people shouldn’t look at Obama as a god-like figure or whatever because no he is not perfect and will make some mistakes, which is what he said himself. Even JFK once noted that it’s not what you are but what people think you are. He had all those women and sent his brother Bobby to do his dirty work, such as deport women out of the country that he had affairs with. I’m still crazy about Obama though!
Instead of just saying that Obama policies are all wrong and he will not fulfill his promises, let’s give him a chance. Wait and see what he will/can do for us

How fitting to have all that profanity and the name of God all in one post! If we were doing the will of God - there’d be no more war and God would fight for us! And I do believe and practice abstinence until marriage has occurred - I just wish everyone did too. Also, please reconsider your profanity - it is not that serious. You have no idea who or what I am. No need to disrespect someone who has not disrespected you. If you can discuss your opinion with me with dignity then I will be glad to resume the topic with you.
A. Keys -The Lady of the Game:
It IS NOT a woman’s choice…it is God’s choice. The Bible says we are not our own…we were bought with a price. The Bible says God “PURCHASED US WITH HIS OWN BLOOD” it is not the choice of anyone except God to eliminate a life that he ordained. 2 or 3 % of abortions are cases of rape, incest, or danger of the life of mother. There is no excuse. When a country goes and turns from God, as we have, it will suffer righteous judgment. I am not juding anyone - I am simply relaying what God’s word says. Everytime someone discusses God’s Word opposition points the finger and cries, “Your judging!” No, I’m explaining what the Bible teaches. I just hope people will follow it and choose life instead of death.

Founded on Christian principles and the word of god. I understand but why is it a RIGHT in the constitution for people to practice ANY religion of any kind that they want. If those ‘Christians’ who created the constitution believed in this contradictory religion why didn’t they say “Just Christians can be Americans” see they looked passed what a ‘book’ for the true rights of mankind, to believe what you want to believe.
I don’t get it. This book says to not judge but at the same time they judge homosexuality. Point blank it’s man made.
I’m coming from an Agnostic view. I believe in something creating this universe but I don’t believe it’s the god perpetrated in the bible. Cause that god is evil an contradictory.

Where is Judah?? He, like Rayna were the doubters! Now, Barack has won by a landslide! Judah was talking all that mess a year ago about Obama had no chance to win and the Republicans were just using him to throw Hillary off track! Which he did, but he also threw McCain under the bus too.
Isn’t it ironic how Judah has just disappeared from the Loop? Where are all the suthsayers now?
394. Marie, Your comments are so weak! You know God don’t want us jumping through all those hoops before we give to others. We are to love our neighbor like you love yourself! What kind of God would want us only to give to other believers? The purpose of giving is to show compassion and lead people to God!
But you, with all your analysis and conditions, you are like the priest who past on the other side of the road to avoid helping the man in need. Try to be more like the Good Samaritan! You have no understanding of the meaning of giving!
Go back and read your thoughts on post #394 and you’ll see the selfishness that the McCain campaign taunted as “redistribution”.

Honey, i believe everyone on here knows that Obama is not 100% black as many African Americans in this country are not 100% black. Obama is Bi-Racial and in that mix there is African American blood and heritage coarsing through his veins so I think anyone with a grain of common sense can come to the conclusion that Obama is definitely African American and thats what we are celebrating. I get so sick of people trying to denounce the fact that this page in history is being written before our very eyes. Obviously enough people in America thought that this country was tired of its old ways and wanted to go in a different direction. If that wasn’t the case then you better believe you would the one in here clapping and giggling for joy because McCain won.
Bottom line Obama/Biden 2008-12! The race is never over. In order to help this win become worth while everybody as Americans will still need to work to get this country back on its feet. THAT is what this is and was all about!!

Who let these crazy ass religious psychotic freaks on the blog (Marie, Rayna J)?This is why I cant stand when these people they can get up in everybody’s buisness and tell people how to live their lives when they know good and damn well they done some f*cked up sh*t in their lifetime. Newsflash retards: NOT EVERYBODY believes in what you believe in. Tired of people thinking they have the authority or the right to force their beliefs on others. Its funny how you can talk about how people worship Barack Obama like he is some Messiah, yet yall the one believing in some religion that was created by man himself. Ha! Im f*cking elated McCain lost. Had that old, paralyzed, crippled ass fool won, people would have been forced into following laws based on one’s man-made religious beliefs. This is supposed to be a “Democratic” country, not a “Dictated” country.
Better yet, just come out and say it, you dont want a black man to be president. Too late, Mr. Obama is. You feel much better with an old, just about to kick the bucket John McCain and his crazy ass, bimbo like vice president Sarah Palin running the country. You cant run a country based on your religious beliefs, because as I can see, it has never worked. You will not survive in this world based on your beliefs because there will be people who will oppose what you believe in. This country needs to be ran and represented by a person who is for the people. All people, black, white, asian, hispanic, native american, gay or straight, young or old, rich or poor, etc… President BARACK OBAMA will be that person, whether you support him or not, whether you wish him to succeed or to fail miserably, whether you wish him dead or alive. OBAMA will be OUR president.

@ Meat…
That is what usually happens. Whereever there is Black progress, Uncle Toms take flight. They are no where to be found. As far as Judas is concerned he probaly had a heart attack and dropped dead….Hahaha….

@ 440 Lady T, I’m guessing that’s because we all AGREE opposed to there being Obama “stans” and Obama “haters” like in the Beyonce posts.
We all can agree, for the most part, that President Obama will make a positive change in America and are happy to have witnessed such a historical, emotional event.

MEAT:
If I’m so unlike the Good Samaritan, then you must be like the Pharisees and Saducees who are like “whited sepulchres” and inside are full of dead men’s bones. (Matthew 23: 27)
SADE:
My posts were referring to people who considered themselves Christians who voted for a man who is against everything we are supposed to be believe in and them specifically. If that makes me a religious, bible thumping, Uncle Tom then so be it. The Bible says, that as a follower of God you would suffer persecution for His sake, it also says beware when men speak well of you. If I had everyone’s wordly views, it wouldn’t be a problem. Darkness will never agree with light. So your animosity towards me is sad, especially as I am a fellow black woman, but expected. I’d love to see a black man in the White House, who believes in the law and holiness of God. But your Barack Obama will sign in a law allowing the slaughter of innocent babies - black, white, Hispanic, etc. (mostly black) Doesn’t that show how much cares? In a few years, he would have helped in the murder of millions, just like your Hitlers and Mussolinis. Also, the same God you are referring to as evil is the same God in whose name I personally have seen demons cast out of people, have seen people healed of throat cancer, I have seen people with withered hands praise God and slowly their hands and unfold and become whole. When He splits the eastern sky and call His people home your opinions will change. Thank you all…I will be praying for our govt. and country. GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE, AND WILL STAND ON THE EARTH AT THE LATTER DAY. And will come in power and great glory! Thank you all, and God Bless!
ACTS 2:38 is the MESSAGE for this MESS - AGE.

sade-you are wrong for talking about Mccain like that. lol.
Marie, I really hope you are not saying we should have voted republican because you think Obama supports abortion and gay rights. What rock have you been living under for the last 8 years. Is that the only sin that you see going on in the world? or are you going to say that Abortion and gay rights caused the War, Katrina, and Financial problems. Sin is Sin. I saw babies starving and hungry in Lousiana and no one in the government seemed to care. Our babies are dying over in Iraq every day over lies. Thats why repubicans with moral “valyas” use you when they are getting low on votes and sweep you under the rug until the next election when they are low on votes again. They then go on with thier bigotry and lies and when it catches up with them, they bring out you out again to justify why the world is messed up to take the heat off of what they were doing. Make no qualms about it, you are just as bad as the people you are accusing of voting for financial reasons, only worse because you run people from God in the process. Take off your “church lady” glasses and open your eyes.

To God be the glory I give thanks and praises at this time… It was an AMAZING life experience for me yesterday to witness first hand what I winessed standing amongst thousands of people from ALL walks of life in Grant Park supporting one man with one cause of change for America. It was mind blowing and I’m still emotional about it all. We have come so far and still have further to go. This is just the beginning and we MUST band together and help rebuild our country, our communities, our neighborhoods, our schools etc.. This is the first step in the right direction my people let’s do it!!! I am counting down the days until Tuesday January 20th 2009 where President Obama will be sworn into the White House - I will definitely be there for that as well. YES WE DID - November 4th 2008 a historic date that will never be forgotten.
