First of all..to the posters who are quoting scriptures( which is an awesome thing) I would also like to remind you that the Bible also states: Judge NOT less the be judged. I said that to say that indeed none of us are perfect and for sure the Bible does speak very firmly on the issue of homosexuality. However, it says nothing about you visiting a loved one who may or may not be a homosexual. Secondly the issue of abortion has come up as well. I truly believe that their IS actually a situation where the right to terminate a pregancy might be warranted. Such as RAPE. Can you honestly sit there and tell me that after being raped, you would go through a pregnancy? I think not. I do agree that women should make better choices when it comes to sex as it was intended for the state of marriage but let us not forget that every women our forefathers had sex with in the Old Testament WERE NOT married to them. That was of course a time when we were far less in value but nonetheless it happened.

Sis, this “Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged” is an issue that needs to be dealt with because this is a portion of the Bible that is cited OUT OF CONTEXT ad nauseam. In Matt 7:1-5, Christ tells us that we cannot judge someone if we are doing the same things that they are doing. In other words; if you’re a crackhead, you cannot tell someone else to put the pipe down until you do. So-called Christians run to this misappropriation of the scripture to justify why they can go along with the doctrines of America and “love everybody and everything”. They don’t want to be afflicted and hated like Christ said we would be for standing up for the truth (Matt 5:11, Matt 10:22, Luke 6:22,23, John 15:18-20, etc.). You are supposed to love the hate. If people don’t like it, to hell with them. If I’m going off, I would hope that another man or women in the spirit would restore me if they see me going the hell off (Galatians 6:1,2). The scripture tells us that when we are SPIRITUAL (know and keep the laws of God to the best of our ability Romans 7:12), we can JUDGE ALL THINGS (I Cor 2:15, I Cor 6:2,3). I just want to say that as a Mexican-American girl, Election day was the one of the best days of my life. I like many others cried like a baby. I still can’t believe that President Obama was able to unify the nation. There was some struggle in the beginning, but we came together in the end. My mom is from Mexico and she is already talking about attending the inauguration. I will never forget that when I voted I saw an Asian person explaining to who appeared to be his grandmother in her native language how to vote. I didn’t understand anything he said except “Obama”. THen the day after the election I went to an elementary school for my work and saw a class of hispanic kids chanting “Obama, Obama, Obama!”

This is just the beginning. I can’t wait for what is to come!

Out of youth, there is a certain naivete. The racial injustices of this country have not been healed just because Barack has been elected. I really hope that black people in particular do not fall for the okee doke in that regard. I do see that it took a nation of very diverse people to vote for Barack, but we do have to remember that in the closing weeks of the campaign, some very nasty and vile comments came from the rallies held by the Republican candidates, Sarah Palin, and Senator John McCain.

People are quick to say that we have over come, but truly that remains to be seen. Electing Barack Obama who is seen as colorless by many because it make him much more acceptable is valid point being made here, its not about black people acting better than anyone else, its mainly about us having enough sense to see that nothing in this country has really changed. Remember at those rallies they were yelling kill him, and calling him an arab?! Don’t be fooled, this election only proves that Barack’s bi-racial background may have made him more acceptable by mainstream, however, if someone who looks like Al Sharpton runs, we all know that he will not be seen as equal. Black folks need to wake up! Equality means, the prison system will not be filled with black men, genocide will stop regarding our people. Folks will stop being afraid to see us and acknowledge us as BLACK people, and will not feel the need to be color blind because they are too shook by acknowledging our presence. I don’t want to be seen as colorless, give me my props for being a beautiful black woman!!! Give Barack his props for being a beautiful black man too!!

It is really dangerous to walk around saying things have changed when racism is alive and well in AMERICA. The next thing you know they will be trying to get rid of affirmative action because blacks are being dumb enough to agree that all of a sudden the world has changed. Don’t be bamboozled!!

This country has looked for every way to diminish us, let us revel in OUR first black president, we have earned the right to. Our blood sweat and tears built this country, and this black man that we so love is one that we are proud to call our own.
